Tied it then used it yesterday. Great, simple, and it works! Caught a 14 inch Rainbow on a 55 degree day here in CT. Thanks Tim. Love your recipes, directions, and flies.
Well done sir! Looking forward to testing this as an early spring pattern for the larger streams in the driftless area. May also try with pink and red thread.
That 1 dislike must be from someone who thinks he ties it better. Great job and great presentation. Thanks
Nice. Gonna tie some up for sure
Love the videos!
1:11 You can easily ... (as you almost dropped the bead) Love the videos!
Tightlinevideo does it best
That's a beautiful tie
Very nice. How well did this euro version perform for you?
It's magnificent
I don't know what I am going to do since Dunkin Donuts is going to discontinue the styrofoam cups, I put them to good use as a fly holder too. Your other little black stone has been a very good producer for me, this time of year, I think I will tie up some of these as well and give it a shot, three should be enough, if they work as I expect then another dozen or two will find there way into my box. but I don't know how that mop fly got in there too, damn thing in green works way to well for what it is!
Hi George, I have some of those 2-foot square, 1/2 inch thick exercise mats that are high density foam (like flip-flops). I cut out 3 inch disks (using a soup can with the rim removed) to hold flies on the tying bench. I made a wood base with a 8 inch knitting needle sticking up that I can mount the disks on to stack them vertically - saves space in my fly tying "closet". ...You have to watch those mop-flies - they breed like crazy and take over the whole fly box :-) I have done extremely well with grey mops with long soft hackle legs, a fur thorax, and bead-chain eyes tied on a short shank hook - makes a wicked dragonfly nymph imitation that rides hook point up. Fish will pick it up off the bottom and swim away with the fly - there is no doubt that you have a take :-)
Forget that question. It's right in front of my eyes.
Great fly
I wonder if I could modify this into something lighter for still water trout and big bluegill. 🤔
Perfect as always. How about a Polish Woven Nymph? Thx!
Can you do a video tying the irresistible. Thanks
Hey Tim! Any tips for keeping the inside of that nozzle head from hardening? Or tips for cleaning it when it does? Thanks!
Hi Tim, is your other early black stone nymph on youtube?
Tried some but it appears my beads have a smaller round hole than the ones used here. I reversed the bead to compensate but it was not the best result.
Perhaps you did not use a slotted bead?
So how did they work?
would thin if epoxy work on the body for protection?
You could add it if you like but it is kinda overkill. The stretch tubing is really tough stuff.
@@tightlinevideo thank you
Where can you purchase the 100 pack of hooks?
what is the tool you use to cut the thread @ 2:38?
Haha. Never mind. Just watched a video you posted about the subject. I thought that’s what it was but wasn’t 100% sure. Great vids btw.
I can't find the video on that tool
