  • In this video, I take the Caledonian Sleeper train from London Euston to Aberdeen! It's a 10.5 hour UK night train and while I did enjoy it, there were definitely a few flaws!

Great video thanks Claire . TBH I would have asked the staff to move me into a cabin with water working or to have it fixed, for the price you paid, I would expect to have what was offered in working order. Too pricey but I'd consider it for a comfy nights sleep.

Thanks! Unfortunately by the time I discovered it I couldn't find anyone and just wanted to go to bed, but totally agree. I have actually contacted them since and got a 15% refund.

Hi, I'm planning my trip to the UK next month (May 10th to May 18th), and I found your video very informative. Thank you for sharing the link and the code.
I have a question: I'm 36 years old and feeling a bit confused about obtaining a railcard for train travel in the UK. I'm going to be staying in the UK and intend to use trains for traveling around. Could you please help me by sharing which railcard I need to purchase, where I can get it, and how I can use it to get discounts? My main travel destinations are the Cotswolds, Scotland, Oxford and, if possible, Wales. Could you also advise me on how to book these travel journeys, which travel card I need to purchase for discounts, and how I can make my trip as budget-friendly as possible? Additionally, I'm interested in using the sleeper train to Scotland-do you have any tips on how I can make this journey as budget-friendly as possible?
I have one more question. I'm planning to travel to the Cotswolds, and I'm wondering if, during my journey to Scotland, I can stop by and take a train from any nearby Cotswold train station? Or do I need to take the night sleeper train only from London?
    Thank you for your assistance.

Glad you liked the video! Sorry for the slow reply, I've been away in Nepal.
So if you're travelling with someone you could get the "two together" railcard, or a network railcard if you're travelling alone. Network railcard won't cover all the routes but does cover London and the South East.
To travel from Oxford to London I recommend the Oxford Tube (it's a bus). It only takes 90 minutes without traffic and it's much cheaper than the trains.
You could also look at National Express or Megabus for some routes.
For the sleeper train to Scotland, unfortunately the only way to make it budget friendly would be to just have a seat and not a cabin! But if you're travelling with someone it might be cheaper than how much I paid.
The sleeper train doesn't stop in England and as far as I know the trains to Scotland don't go through the Cotswolds, so you'll need to travel London - Cotswolds - somewhere like Cheltenham Spa or Gloucester - Scotland.
      hope that helps!
