I wonder if an actual mortar tank is possible in Sprocket. A large short-barrel cannon, but angled upwards at ~80 degrees and lobbing indirect fire. It might need the minimum propellant length so the shot doesn't go into orbit.

Im not gonna name every thing that can act like artiller but just so you know there are plenty. but tanks cant be mortars its infantry duty
Yo how about starting a series where you make your own tank army? Like start with some standardized hulls that u made and add like cannons and turrets to make different models
Idk if someone has recommended this, but make essentially a sports car. So like a large engine that tops out like 6-8k rpm, stylish looks, and really fast. Doesn't have to be a super effective one as far as gun. Even if it is like a 20mm that is really fast firing or smth

The idea of a mortar/artillery in sprocket would be interesting and difficult to aim since as of right now, the game doesn't officially support mortars.
Just go ahead and take 2 loaders out and make the TC (tank commander) and gunner a loader each. That's what I do when I have more than 2 guns. The gunner will always load a gun if there's more than 1 gun and if there's more than 2, then the TC get's involved. It's slower, but it saves room. After that, then you can start shoving more bodies in there. If you're doing a hull mounted design like that, then have the radioman also be a loader, the only one who shouldn't be a loader logically is the driver. Also you used the word "unfortunately" wrong. You said, "unfortunately we're going to have to ignore some size limitations." I'm failing to see where the word unfortunately is applicable in that sentence, Frantic. But this design is either American, German, Japanese, or USSR. 88mm are distinctly German, but MOAR GUN is something the US would do frequently. Lined up like that, something the USSR would probably design. On such a small chassis and throwing so many crew in there, that's completely a Japanese thing. Sooooo it's an amalgamation of what-if. You might have a better idea on how to accomplish this than me, but do you think you can out artillery the enemy artillery in No-Tank's-Land? I think that'd be an interesting video. You can try with the level restrictions and then again without any restrictions just to see if it's possible to yeet some steel that far. It'd be hilarious if it works.
The only thing i find disturbing is how powerfull the engine is i mean the bigger the tank the slower they are but you always make it too powerfull to the point its weird to see

Wrong tool for the job. Mortars need to be mobile like infantry. Otherwise it artillery. If it's artillery it would be firing from further away.
