      That's all I need to stream in 4k just sign up for expressvpn?

    • @StetsonDoggett
      @StetsonDoggett  Před 3 lety +1

      @@EminiMagic It should work! The way video streaming limits work is they identify content as video content going to the device, and then, they limit the data speeds of video content to a max of 1.5Mbps. This is fast enough to stream 480p SD video, but too slow to stream 1080p or 4K.
      VPNs work by hiding what content you are consuming, so carriers can't tell if you're streaming video content or just browsing a website. As a result, all content gets 100% full speed data, and you can stream video at up to 4K quality.
      Consider getting a VPN and trying it out! Fast.com will tell you your video streaming speeds. If it doesn't work, most VPNs, like ExpressVPN, offer a 30-day money back guarantee.

    Hey Stetson! Love your videos and insight! Just wanted to let you know something weird about US Mobile you may want to caution users about. If you sign up for their domestic esim data plans, the plans are priced differently but more importantly the service is provided by AT&T (not Verizon or T-Mobile) AND it is all routed through France (no idea why) so the ping is 200+. Luckily I only got it for testing purposes but if I had intended to rely on it I would have been pretty frustrated.

    Question: I have extra line on my older T-Mobile One plan. When I move the SIM from the phone to my iPad Pro (2018), the cellular data connection works, but the speeds are limited to paltry 0.8 MB up/down on LTE, even though the phone clocks about 50 MB for up/down on LTE connections. Does the Tmo somehow detects that the sim is in the tablet and limits the tablet to the same speed as if the tablet was connected to phone through the hotspot? My tmo hotspot data tethering speeds are limited to 3G speeds.

    Great video on a topic that doesn’t get much attention. I have the prepaid plan, it’s fine except for the fact that if you don’t have an actual phone line with T-Mobile it’s basically impossible to manage your account online. I had to actually go to a store to pay, and the first time I didn’t get there before the billling period ended, it was a whole ordeal to get my account reactivated. I finally just signed up for autopay. So it works, just not the most user-friendly experience. I might look into U.S. Mobile. Do their plans allow you to use your tablet as a hotspot?

    • @StetsonDoggett
      @StetsonDoggett  Před 3 lety +1

      US Mobile offers a hotspot add-on for $5. You can use all of your included data as hotspot data when you purchase the add-on. The $45 50GB plan from US Mobile includes up to 20GB of hotspot data.

    • @StetsonDoggett
      @StetsonDoggett  Před 3 lety +2

      Auto-pay is where your payment method (credit or debit card) is automatically charged at the end of your billing cycle so there is no interruption in your service. With auto-pay off, your service may be paused as a prepaid customer until your most recent bill is paid.
