- WFLA Now Digital Anchor JB Biunno and WFLA Senior Investigator Walt Buteau discuss the latest attempts to avoid a Gabby Petito trial and Brian Laundrie's call activity in the hours after murdering Gabby Petito.
I am surprised the Laundries did not get arrested for obstructing an investigation and justice. Their murderer son would still be alive too.
In Florida family is exempt.
They are family they don’t have too in Florida also they retained an attorney immediately so unfortunately it’s a thin line
Unfortunately he's not dead. I believe the body they found wasn't Brian's body. Since the family found it in the park with in on mile. After the fact they had an entire team with dogs..
This was a in all intents and purposes, I murder suicide , babe. Can you prove they knew? Yes, I would have to think they knew. We have to ask. Would we know. Not sure I’d know. I’d absolutely want to know where my daughter in law who’d been living with me was!
Would I expect that my young kid tell me? No. No I wouldn’t. Would I like it? No! Would I ask more questions? Yes! Would you call the the cops because your kid said “we broke up! That’s it!”
Prove they knew. There’s where it’s bad. Don’t get me wrong, I think they knew! That’s gonna be hard to prove though.
I hope her parent get the information they deserve! What his parent did to them is horrific
i would like to see Brian's mother get charged for being an accessory.
I'd like to see the Petito's admit their daughter was a domestic abuser but that'll never happen. The money is too good.
What does that even mean?@@EverFox-cw2ho
@@Bebedollie
It means the Petito's will never admit their daughter was a domestic abuser because their bread n butter is sympathy like typical grifters.
@EverFox-cw2ho Hmmm Brian Laundrie had no marks on his face in any photos, videos, or police bodycam but Gabby did, and Brian died by suicide, Gabby was murdered by Brian. So how can you gaslight everyone by saying Brian was abused by Gabby?
@@EverFox-cw2hotypical troll. You have no idea what you’re talking about
Roberta's letter is weird, and the storage unit stuff is weird. And it's weird how his parents didn't know he killed her, when they frantically called a lawyer and paid a 25K retainer. 25K for what? Because Gabby went off of her own free will? It doesn't make sense.
Brian is a murderer and the people who created fake accounts to defend him, should be ashamed of themselves.
People who continue to support a domestic abuser because she was a female should be ashamed of themselves. In a world where women demand equality, she should have been arrested. Had she been, we wouldn't be here today.
If she was "gone" why did he have her van. Shouldn't she have taken it with her.
Gone as in dead. How is she supposed to drive the van if she’s not alive?
How does a dead person drive?
Gone as in ran off with the first random dude that showed interest. I'm done with you. Take the van, go home, and leave us alone. She's gone. Perfectly plausible and happens all of the time.
But that's not what happened here. She pushed his buttons one too many times until he choked the monkey snot out if her. Then he left the body to be maggot food and drove home. Not something you would tell your parents about.
Very, very good point.
@@fauxque5057found the Laundrie
Apparently, not the healthiest relationship between mother and son. That letter she wrote, to him, was bizarre.
Justice for Gabby❤
What bother me was how the laundries found the dry bag so quickly and the fbi or police wore no gloves
Hate to admit that my mind went to this but, I think mom influenced him on his choice to end his own life.
There's a video showing the police hand that bag to the laundries.. lmao 🤣 the police are playing games with these
That whole part where the dad and mom basically went STRAIGHT to the bag. Yet I believe it had been checked. Ya odd. Then they touched it knowing it's evidence
Federal Alphabet Boys are corrupt.
I thought that was so weird too!! They searched forever for him and they went right to where he was
Hiding evidence, unwilling to talk, ignoring the obvious… this IS an accessory to a crime. Gabby’s parents just want and deserve answers!!!And so do many others!!
It's all over now. You'll have to find something else to put your fake outrage behind
No one is bound by any law to speak or assist law enforcement in an investigation. The Laundries were across the country, accessory would be impossible.
@@EverFox-cw2ho Bro you're definitely his mom or something 💀.
You realize he murdered her, right?
Please charge that dirty laundry woman! Its basic common sense that she KNEW Gabby was gone. Rip Gabby 🕊️
I’m sorry. But as a mom, if my son called and said his gf is gone and tells me to call an attorney, we’d be having a conversation and I would be asking questions.
But if your son spun the story to blame the girlfriend what would you do? I always tell my son not to involve me in his fights with girlfriends, because I’m always going to side with him. Then when they make up I’ve got animosity towards them.
@@HandbagDiva It's problematic when parents don't ask questions. Regardless of their child's age, children aren't always innocent. Automatically siding with your child without questioning their actions is a sign of ignorance. Your kid isn't perfect. Smh
But I unfortunately Brian was a narcissist and his parents were his enablers. Maybe even narcissistic themselves. That shit sadly goes literally to the grave trust. It's vile.
@HandbagDiva "fights with girlfriends, always going to take your son's side". Your son could be 100% the abuser and you " would always take his side" . You are nuts ..🙄🤦♂️🤦♂️
I can't imagine the Petito's settling. This isn't about money for them. I think they only want to have the Laudries held accountable for their part in this murder cover up. Only a jury will be able to do that. The Laudries need to be punished in a court of law.
I want Bertalino disbarred and held accountable as well!
It was always about the money.
It's not all about the money, they want the truth and justice for their daughter, and I don't blame them at all. It's plain as day they knew what was going on, they know their son wasn't right and they had arguments in their home while she was living with them
@@EverFox-cw2ho Once again, you don't know what your talking about. That's your openion but not a good one. They lost their daughter. Do you have children? If you did maybe you would understand but maybe not.

Gabby should have been arrested for domestic violence, that was determined after a lengthy investigation.
I think the saddest part of all this is realizing if the parents did indeed help him, which I’m 💯 sure they did. Imagine the abuse she endured in their home leading up to this that they also probably enabled
EXACTLY!!
I'm with Gabby's folks. They entrusted this young man and his parents with the safety, wellbeing, and care of their daughter, and they failed miserably at all of that and then concealed what they knew and prevented the police from doing their jobs and Gabby's family from getting any kind of justice or punishment for the loss of their young adult daughter. This was so weird. Idk how they hid him from law enforcement and the public, or what they were thinking when they left the kid at the wildlife area & trails. It's all craziness ! As much as I love all my young adult offspring, if one of them did something like this, I would not let them escape justice ! He got away with it all and his parents aided and abetted him and should be held accountable, crimally, as well as civilly.
I agree with you 100%
Apparently, family is exempt in Fla.which is a crying shame
I wouldn’t say he got away with it, he gave himself the death penalty!
Say that this laundry guy was alive and he was Convicted for murder,
Pretty much sure he aint gonna live to see another dayPrison..
They should have advised their daughter better. If he had left my daughter for 3 days alone as soon as I knew I would be on a flight to drive her home
Anyone who watches the interaction with Moab Police can see just how flawed it was. They dropped the ball here regardless of who was DEEMED the aggressor. My deepest sympathy for Gabby’s family, she didn’t deserve to die 💜anyone who is trying to portray Brian as the victim has their head up their head firmly up their ass and has never dealt with or lived with a narcissist
too true !!
I was 25 yrs old. traveling with a BF 6 hrs from home. I called the local sheriff for help, they put me up in a hotel. Bought me a bus ticket home and had a police unit watching all night. Moab PD had no regard for Gabby's safety and she lost her life.
@amartinez7053 It was amonth later though that he killed her, sadly enough, couples with their dynamics can break up & get back together 100 times, the guy is usually good at getting her to think it's her fault they have arguments, that he loses control of his childish self & that's a reason they target young more naive youngsters, it's easier to pull the crap they pull on someone who has self doubts, who questions themselves, someone who forgives too easily....
I myself, in my marriage over 27+ years, there were many tmes I left & many times I made him leave our house for months, but thee were also two times he nearly choked me to death, stopped by police and security guards thankfully. He'd go insane every few years, but if he had succeeded in killing me, it would not have been ANYONE else's FAULT but his. HIS.
In this case, they did separate the 2 by taking her to jail that night (which was the wrong call, they should've taken Brian, the first 911 caller reported him slapping her & 911 obviously failed to convey that to the officers, these kind of incompete communications cuse deaths every day it needs to change in America. But also Gabby refused to tell the absolute truth about how he'd slapped her around inthat parking lot, in front of witnesses ( that told me all I needed to know because what they do behind closed doors is alwys much worse!!)
Ofcourse umpteenish miles from home, they got back with eachother and continued the trip. She should have asked them to get her home safely, but Gabby STILL did not see or could not admit to herself the danger she was in.
Bottom line is; you can't save someone if they on't let you, won't give you the info needed to save you. HE , Brian, had the ability to NOT kill her. He is at fault forever.
@@rebeccamartinez7053 See it is important that YOU called the police for help and you told them what he had done that led to you needing their help. If only ALL d.v. victims would use the resources availlable to them, would ask for help and then would take it. Abusers end up so harming the victim's ability to think, decide things, to even function at the end because ofthe mental effects of the abuse they're going through off and on, off and on, never knowing when the nut will flip a switch.
I agree wholeheartedly
Gabby was such a beautiful young woman. She did not deserve what this monster did to her. He was a coward. He should have been there for a trial, to face her parents and loved ones and taken everything that made him out the monster he was. But he chose the easy way out. As for his parents, they made everything worse for the Petitos. They are heartless monsters. What kind of parents were the for doing this to the Petitos. The Dirty Laundries raised a murderer. Does not say much about them, does it.
The small part that Gabby's decision to stay with him plays a small part in this. A death occured. That death was concealed by deserting her body to the elements and running away like the sally he is. To discover that his parents were so intent in keeping the blood off their hands by smoothing the way for him to stay on the run tells a lot about them. At the end of the day, though, there's this thing called Karma. It has no time limits, it has everyone's address, and it will show up. The killer has met his Karma and good riddance. Gabby is no longer here and I hope she's able to rest easy now that she's Gone Home. The Laundrie's? When the Karma bus pulls up at their home, I hope they packed everything they'll need for very, very warm weather.
All parents would ask where did she go? If he just said Gabby was gone.
Yepp they knew what he meant
Yes I personally believe most people would just naturally say
“ Gone Where “
“ What do you mean Gabbys gone “
just for some clarification if your Child said their partner was gone 🤷♀️
If one of my children did something so serious i wpuld call the police.FULL STOP
I hope her parents win this battle. This storie is just sad and upsetting. I wish it never happened. Sad thing.😢.
Brian's heartless parents couldn't bring themselves to call Gabby parents. Say "I don't what happen Brian's here without Gabby."
I think bertolino was lying about the FBI advising him not to hold a press conference
Gabby was afraid to go anywhere. He was jealous. He followed her everywhere
Or she was a major bitc$ and pushed him too far.
Bull. He left her alone in a hotel room for 5 days. She begged the cops not to separate them, Brian volunteered. She attacked him in Moab because he wanted a "breather"...
No doubt he tried to end it, sending her into another blind rage. Ending a relationship is the most dangerous time for a victim, they should have arrested her in Moab.
@@EverFox-cw2ho Those vile cops should be arrested, too, for not saving Gabby at the time. I hope the family sues them, also.
@@EverFox-cw2hoshe’s literally dead… I think we know who the aggressor is. I really believe she was in a position of self defense. She literally had marks on her face when cops showed up.

Being here with JB and Walt, talking about Gabby again.. it feels almost nostalgic. It was such a tragic time but we were all in it together, and it was beautiful in a way. United on behalf of this beautiful young woman who deserved so much more. It’s sad to be here, but hopeful, in the sense that there may be justice in some form.
Forever supportive of the Petito/Schmidt families. 🤍
I agree so much, this community became family to me during that time. Gabbys light shines bright and will forever be a positive in this dark world.
Maybe there is video footage of what he was doing at the storage unit. I don't know how that could be obtained but pretty sure they would have security cameras on the property
I had to turn in a close family member for breaking the law. No way in hell would I ever cover for anyone that has harmed another human being or animal for that matter.
The police ignored two separate independent witnesses who called them to report him hitting her. They ignored her injuries after she told them he put his hand around her mouth and scratched her face. They ignored the fact that HE drove into a kerb in front of them. They ignored her account that she was trying to stop him from stealing her van and all her stuff in it and leaving her in the middle of nowhere. IMO, the police gave Brian the confidence and justification to continue his violence and coercive control over Gabby.
The Laundries knew he was a murderer IMO. Just because (they claim) they didn't communicate the word 'murder' doesn't mean they didn't understand what 'gone' meant. Bertilino said he knew he wasn't being retained for a personal injury case and told the Laudries to consider she'd been murdered. The murder was confirmed when Brian returned in Gabby's van. Where else would she be?
The Laundries and the MOAB police should pay for their misjudgements, lies, victim-blaming and the blindness and negligence that resulted in her death.
So perfectly worded. Those cops were the last stop that could have changed everything.
Bertilino is shady!
Gabbys gone……..
My first question as a parent would be, are you stranded, did she take the van. Then he would’ve had to answer in a little bit more detail! I think the parents knew everything!
Roberta says at some point that Gabby didn’t go outside. It always was the one comment Gabby said in first video where she looked right at camera and said “Gabby Petito never goes outside” It has always stood out to me since since she was clearly mocking someone. It was the best form or sarcasm. We all know our kids better than that and just because she loved reading she also loved the outdoors and we all saw it. Gabby was a nature girl that loved to read also. In that same girl.
She was also a domestic abuser.

City of Moab Utah Statement On Investigative Review of Aug. 12 Petito-Laundrie Incident
"After a formal complaint was filed with the Moab City Police Department, an independent law enforcement agency has completed a thorough review of the August 12, 2021 domestic violence incident involving Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie. The independent agency’s investigative report finds that the officers who responded to the incident made several unintentional mistakes that stemmed from the fact that officers failed to cite Ms. Petito for domestic violence. The City acknowledges that this finding may raise questions, and the issue is examined extensively in the investigative report. The report recommends improvements to both the policies and the training of the Moab City Police Department. These recommendations include: providing additional training in domestic violence investigation, as well as additional legal training to ensure officers understand state laws and statutes; conducting an overall policy review; conducting a software review; and strengthening the review process for incident reports. The investigative report also finds that a statement was never obtained from the original 911 caller, and recommends that be done to make the incident report more complete. The City intends to implement the report’s recommendations. Based on the report’s findings, the City of Moab believes our officers showed kindness, respect and empathy in their handling of this incident. As the Moab City Police Department continues its daily mission to serve our community, efforts are underway to provide additional resources and tools to assist them in addressing domestic violence incidents. Plans are in place to add a trained domestic violence specialist to oversee incidents investigated by Moab officers. We also will implement added and ongoing training and testing to ensure that the officers understand policies and procedures. The City of Moab sends our sincere condolences to the Petito family. Our hearts go out to them as they continue to deal with the tragic loss of their daughter."

They need to pay a lot of money because that will hurt them more than anything.

Need to ask Gabbys friend Rose about the storage unit situation. Im sure if Gabby talked to anyone about her relationship it would be with her friends.
I am sure they have.
He was not a man but a jealous boy.A man dose not take a girl out and murdered her because they can not get along. And there are many more people that would do that like the person sticking up for Brian on this post.

@@mycharmedunicorn8715The real truth will never come out.
It would be cheaper to pay for a storage unit, than a round trip flight.
His parents are despicable! He called and was hysterical, telling them, "Gabby is GONE!" and he asked them to get him a lawyer! Are you kidding me?!? They should spend time in jail! They should lose their house and all assets to Gabby's family!
God bless Gabby's mother and father
If they settle then they don't want the truth. Demand a trial.
That's not how people settle. It involves much more than that. They don't hand over money and walk away. 🤣
As a parent, I call BULLSHIT !!!
If my child said that to me I definitely would ask what “ she’s gone “ meant & why do you need a lawyer
So glad you did a live about this story. Have missed the live streams
I have three sons and my oldest is engaged and we had them live with us during Covid and I love her so much yes I would get him a lawyer but I would have never treated her family like they did especially how much we love our future daughter in law
I think the “deal” was:
We’ll answer ALL of your questions and tell you everything we know, off the legal record, and with an NDA.
The parents new she was dead.
I don’t see how anyone on a jury would get past him telling them ‘she’s gone’ and wanting a criminal lawyer. Why would you need a criminal attorney if a crime was not committed? Then showing up without her. If it was a physical fight and she was alive I’d say she would be taking her own van and he can figure out a way home. Any jury trial I think would’ve been very bad for the Laundries. Bertilino’s statement of reunification was a foot in mouth situation that should’ve never been worded that way. It can almost come across as taunting with a we know something you don’t but happy hunting for her.
This case will never go to a trial.
Why didn't the Laundry's phoned Gaby to see how she was doing 😒 😕???😢
Thank you. Watching from Alaska.

During the trip home. He told them.
Gabby said to the police in Moab that Brian didnt believe she could be successful with the travel blog. She was writing and he got angry that day for taking time when he wanted to get going.
The police made a grave mistake that day. Hidden True Crime have an interesting take on the body language.
I also remember her saying that Brian made fun of her and told her she couldn’t succeed because she was stupid and didn’t know what she was doing and she’d never make a good blogger. How she had dreams he constantly shot down and would say things to upset her. I often wonder if she had finally decided he wasn’t the right person for her and he flipped. 💯 agree
Perhaps, he talks to his parents daily. That is how they know what’s happening in there relationship already. So when he says, ‘Gabby’s Gone’ they already know what that meant and not ask anymore questions … the parents definitely knows a lot more than they say
Mediation is totally inappropriate in this case. The Petitos deserve to have this go to trial and make the Laundries fully explain themselves. This should not just be buried along with Gabby. I'm pretty sure they know something even if Brian didn't tell them every detail.
RIP Gabby 😢❤
Why do the Laundrys not just give them the information. What can they loose?
I think this relationship was very dis functional and I think Brian was always an abusive person. I’m sure that’s how he was raised he probably grew up watching his father beat his mother. It’s normal to that family obviously. It’s so sad this happens. I hope the family gets the closure they deserve. It’s just too bad she didn’t just leave but from experience I know it’s not that easy.
I think he was abused by his father growing up. I think mom made excuses for both of their behaviors (brian and dad) his whole miserable existence. The parents need to be held accountable for their handling of this situation. There's no way you can convince me that Brian's self unaliving wasn't assisted by the parents. Part of discussion on camping trip
Those parents of his basically helped him to escape from a murder. They should get a year in jail or something. They cost the city tons of time and money, but knew everything the whole time.
I Can’t Fathom My Son Calling Me Saying Their Fiancé Is Gone & Ne Not Asking AT MINIMAL “What Happened Bud?” SMDH 😢
I Believe He Told His Parents After He Got Home. Phone Records Are A Thing.
Them saying she is gone and it happened before and she was out till 4 am or went to NY for a holiday etc. Of course she did. Her family was in NY and she went home to spend a holiday with her family as for the 4 am event they mention I want to bring up the reminder of Rose saying the girls were going out dancing or something and he had stolen her ID from her wallet. He is a D bag and controlling and that alone proves it! These parents are too! She had every right to even stay with a friend and not come home or go away for the weekend or go see her family.
Oh he was so controlling. Left her alone in a hotel for 3 days with the keys and the van. Lets see who harassed who via cell phone those three days. Mommy or Daddy should have got their ass on a jet and brought her home
A book needs written on this with all the documents.
In my opinion the mother absolutely knew everything.
The fact that they were so silent and didn't want to speak to the media speaks everything. Silence was best.
To me if Gabby was missing and their son was missing I would be all over the social media trying to get answers. Not going private in my home. I would want to be out there getting help from anyone and everyone.
Along with their attorney who knew he killed her
18:38 good on the fella for bringing the audience back down to earth there. So often armchair detectives’ sensational but baseless analysis/accusations are encouraged despite those encouraging knowing that what they’re saying is based in a complete ignorance of how things actually work in reality. Too many cases are decided in the court of public opinion based on “they didn’t cry enough!” Or “they cried too much they’re obviously overcompensating with fake crying!” And speculation such as “they made a deal with the FBI in a bush”, and this kind of stuff gets picked up and run with by a mob of armchair jurors/detectives who treat investigations/trials and the lives on the line and the lives already lost as characters in a soap opera. It’s all fan theories but they actually have real world impact. These people aren’t characters, the stakes are incredibly high and real suffering is caused by the modern day ambulance chasers that is the true crime fandom/cult. I watch true crime content myself, but am always disturbed by the cultish and soap opera like vibes from the “community”. Like people will become a mob thirsting for blood over someone’s “gut instinct that this person is a bad egg”.
It needs to be called out and brought back down to earth.
Some of us are experts. We're the ones who won't pay attention to those illegal things people suggest doing that are, in fact, illegal to do, which these bizarre commenters don't realize are illegal. How people say these things, I'll never know. If they were in a situation like this and acted on their ideas they would blow the case and end up in jail. Unbelievable
I hope gabbys parents are satisfied with the answer they got and can have closure
The "stay put" was maybe so Brian wouldn't get more charges for crossing state lines?
The moment they scrubbed the van in the garage I knew they were trying to get rid of all forensic evidence...and don't forget, they went camping like nothing happened! Parents are accomplices after the fact!
I feel like that was a plan making trip as well as a farewell trip.
Watching from Alaska ❤
I cant believe Gabby's parents want to settle for money, that is not justice. Justice is the laundries show be incarcerated
I am sure they got a lot if blood money already in donations.
both families lost a child there is no worse tragedy
What makes no sense is "saving money?" Plane tickets are expensive and strongly suspect much more than another month or even two rent on storage.
I live in Oregon. I will bet money they were not going to pick pumpkins but instead they had weed trimming job. This is the season. You guys are so spot on Re every question you ask though. The pumpkin pic was to deflect for their parents.
Yes! Jury trial
Has anyone wondered if the burn after reading note was written when Brian came back to get their stuff from the storage locker? It makes sense to me, “hey mom, Gabby and I are having problems, sometimes I feel like killing her. I think I might go too far one day.” Mom thinks about what he said and writes the note?
The Laundries should just tell the truth and then move to an undisclosed location.
Did she take the van? well what do you mean? Should we call police for a search party?
I think both of his parents should be arrested. They are EVIL!
These parents should be locked up. I feel this young lady has been suffering for a long time in the hands of this man who killed himself. He killed himself to escape prison. He knew what would happen if he had gone to prison. Gabby had been abused for a very long time. When I saw her crying when she was talking to the police, she was afraid . She knew what was going to happen. Poor young woman did not deserve any of this. He was a very jealous person. If he could not have her, then no one else could.
Litigation is extremely expensive, if Gabby's family got anwers to their questions, they may not need to go to trial.
Yes
2 years since it happened and I was hooked on the case since then and still felt that the parents of Brian were not telling the truth about the contact and information they had before he committed suicide
He could have said, “she’s gone, call attorney” and the mom could’ve said something like, “don’t say anything further or i don’t want to know anything more”
The saddest point to me is the fact that Gabby didn't feel she could tell anybody about what was going on... In my opinion, if she tells someone, it could be a failure on her part or it opens up a can of worms to criticism, or it could cause the police to get involved, which could possibly start a mess, or threats from Brian about what he might do if she talks. Then there are the "good moments" that she was clinging to where she thought this might be a good thing one day. I say this after going through three very abusive relationships myself. You want to say something so bad, but this person.
Is the most wonderful person the next day. In this cycle just keeps going and going.
There should be a way for us to tell someone without repercussions. All the many recordings... That no one ever heard.
The one time I did call the police. They called the police too, at the same time...and the police believed him because he's the master manipulator and it just became a wash rather than them knowing what really happened to me. 😢
Or she was the one that is known to be dominant and abusive. Women can be abusive.
OMG the timing of the calls!! After Merry Piglett
If someone told me their fiance was gone, I would ask what do you mean gone?
Roberta's letter to Brian says they are so close nothing can compare. They shelled out a retainer immediately !
Brian Laundrie: Brain Washing
Gabby Petito: Talk little
Yes, during the trip
“Gabby’s gone.” Is an innocent enough statement. What’s worrying is the addition of him asking them to contact an attorney. That would have me questioning him to specify what he meant.
Driving her van, using her card to pay for food and gas! That’s vile on top of the evil!
FBI didn’t want to show their hand about arresting Roberta at that point. That is why they didn’t want to let Laundries to have a press conference.
Yes during the trip.
Can Brian's parents live anywhere, where they will be welcome.I would think they are unwelcome in most any neighborhood. The daughter, yes. The parents, no!
Brians mother needs to be charged and the dad they knew way to much especially where Brian's supposedly killed himself. .. I really Believe in my heart Brian's dad killed him like the gun was not in his dominant hand and far from the remains . Just hella suspicious to me my opinion only.
Walt be careful what you say, don't give them any possible outs* You know they watch you intently.
