I'm kinda fascinated with Georgia. I decided to study the history and origins of all european peoples and I became increasingly frustrated with how the europeans of today have almost nothing in common with their ancestors, specially when it comes to religious values. Then, after torturous amounts of "enlightenment values", progressivism and all the crisis revolving around it, I finally arrived at Georgia. It was a breath of fresh hair knowing that there are still european peoples (though they aren't technically european) who don't hate themselves and their history, and instead sherish it and want to preserve it.

What does iberian mean ? I thought it only refered to the spanish peninsula, sorry for bad english

Together with them Georgians in Caucasus and in Anatolia also at some time were also called Iberians, but unlike western ones Georgians shared this name for much longer time till medieval centuries, Greeks referred like that to Georgians before 19th century even, until Georgia became part of Russia. ancient historians all considered these 2 people to be one people or relative people, Modern scholars doubt that , cuz it's become hard to prove as west Iberians don't exist anymore and their language is dead. Iberian in europe later on became a culture, which was shared and adopted by Celtic people and people of Peninsula. Hope this helped. Also lot's of Scholars relate Basque and Georgian(Kartvelian languages), but also not proven. As I know Soviet government was against it and forced to stop working on that theory in 80s.

I went there one summer, saw Lake Ritsa - it's SO beautiful!
With the earlier vids being a third of the length of the current ones, I'd love to see a revisit of this episode especially. It's such a crossroads of culture! The famous people section has to include sumo wrestler Tochinoshin (Levan Gorgadze), who reached the second highest rank (Ozeki) in the sport and is now in the twilight of his career. He was active in the top division when this video came out.
The history section also is well worth a second look-through, as well as a follow-up on the two autonomous regions. Georgia has had its profile raised, I think, since this episode debuted. I've been hopscotching around the world through your videos, and this (and possibly Bolivia) were the ones that left me NEEDING more info.

Actually the word ''puri'' (Georgian for ''bread'') comes from Hindi; ''khacho'' is a Georgian type of cottage cheese.

Europe and Asia are really one continent: *Eurasia*. The division is ideology, not geography.
But as the Shoulders of Giants said: That's not really a geographical divide. We have defined that these are the boundaries of two continents - but really quite arbitrarily.

Yeah, the idea of Europe and Asia being different is very much more tradition than it is geographical science. The fact that we had to define mountains as borders, something that holds up nowhere else in the world, shows that separate continents not divided by oceans might not be separate continents after all.
On that note, Whether Eurasia is also a supercontinent together with Africa, "Afro-Eurasia", if you will, is very interesting. Geologically, Africa is on its own plate, so it is more separate from Eurasia than Eurasia is from one another.

But we use Mkhedruli the most.
As a georgian civilian, i can say everything in this video is very true, we have our own language which can be quite hard to learn as a tourist, we also have some really good wine, so come visit, you wont regret it this place is full of history!
