Both great paintings! So refreshing (and encouraging) that a painter I have long admired--Tim Horn--has trepidation just like the rest of us mere mortals when tackling a subject.
Hearing Tim Horn saying he loses his confidence is priceless, thanks Tim I guess that feeling is always going to be there in the beginning of a painting 😅 Both paintings came out great and what a beautiful day in SF 🎨👊🏻
That 16x24 is a perfect size for that scene. Love the boathouse coming in from the side, and how the eye moves through the painting. Thank you both for sharing the experience!
Great painting and brushwork. Really reminded me of the early California Impressionists. Side question for Tim.......what kind of sunglasses are those that you are able to paint with?
Sooooo good, Michael! I absolutely love when you paint buildings! They are always so striking. Hoping you can do some cityscapes this summer if your schedule allows. They're always so amazing too.
Love your style and generosity to share. May I ask what editing program or app you use for the video edits? Or does CZcams have their own editing option?
Really liked your comment about people's reaction to the early process of painting. When I paint, most of the comments I get are when my work is barely started. Even myself, your work came out much nicer than I had feared.
Now I feel like watching that "Escape from Alcatraz" starring Clint Eastwood. 😂Both great paintings, specifically drawn to how alive yours seems to look!🥰
The size of the canvas is proportional to my confidence 😂 they look great! Thank you for taking us along 🎨

I do like the loose, short, thick brushstrokes in this painting ... very impressionistic.
What of my new favorites! Also love that u are you painting with Tim Horn. Thanks for explaining your process ❤
I like your reminders to rearrange the scene. I need to hear that every day.

Good one Micheal. Nice to see you taking on other subject matter.

"That poor guy..." :)) Thank you Michael; I do enjoy watching you work en Plein air; the fog had indeed engulfed the mountains in the background.

Yes!
Beautiful Painting Michael
@@chamberlainpaintingsso many things randomly just come to mind , thank you Michael
The only thing I want to know is why you put your back to your subject. I was always told to face your subject because it’s a lot easier.
I turn the easel to keep direct light off the painting. I don’t like using umbrellas.
the windows are not reflected in the water...
