Si, I can't tell you how much I enjoy all of your videos, you are THE best! I find them exciting, informative, educational, comforting and very interesting. The respect you show for everything, the way you do your research, the way you present it all, is brilliant. I often have trouble sleeping so watching your videos helps me relax and every one is a gem. Love and best wishes to you and thank you for sharing. Happy hunting X
Ah thank you, it's comments like this that keep me going, glad you appreciate all the hard work that goes into them! I appreciate you!
Simon, you give me a great reason to get up and get going on a Sunday morning here in Florida, USA. Your videography has markedly improved and I, along with so many others, appreciate your research and retelling of the history of your finds. Thank you (and Matt) for the great work you do, mate!
A right pair of bright sparks. ;-)
HAha
Your finds have given me so much enjoyment and information about the Thames and local history that I would have otherwise not discovered here in the USA. Love, love, love your mudlarking community and associates. Those night time hunts and skyline photography are breathtaking and some of my favorites!! Thankyou !
Bonnie Porthouse Aw Thanks Bonnie!
Loved the Ginger Beer bottle and that anchor....just gorgeous!
Metal finds like the anchor would be a great candidate to coat with a rust converter. It would stop the corrosion and turn it right back to black and you can then clear coat over top of it. Great find
ESS COFFEE & CHICORY Made 1920-1940.
7.50 Careful where you put that hand!
Really interesting story around the Bovril name:
The first part comes from the Latin bovem which means Ox. John Johnstone (the inventor of Bovril) got the second part from a book that was popular at the time about a race of people who got their power from a material called "Vril".
I'm always amazed at what and where you find things! It seems like you can just walk down the street, dig a hole and find something. Of course you're in a small country where people have been living for ages, so I guess it makes sense. What fun! Thanks for sharing your explorations.
Wow, Simon, I can't believe how well you cleaned up that crusted anchor! Amazing!
Thanks for not leaving that Anchor. It turned out great. Howdy from Texas!!
John Jones of Billiter Square. Had a contract to provide anchors to Her Majesties Navy in mid to late 1800's. All said anchors were to me marked with his initials. I'm guessing he could have spelled out his last name, or it could be one he made for someone other than the Royal Navy. I enjoyed your video as always. That you for taking the time to share.
That was an awesome hunt Simon and Matt! I share your passion. There's nothing better than digging, and finding a treasure! No matter what it is. The details you find out later are amazing, and the photo's complete the wonderful stories that go along with the treasures. Thank you so much for all your hard work.
Hi Si 😁 I wondered if you could in one of your videos , explain how the iridescence happens on the bottles ?
Cheers great vid 👏
Love your bottle finding videos , you just never know what you'll find , wonderful finds !!!👍😁
Another fab video as always! Though my favourite part was you being serenaded by the blackbird while showing off your finds at the end. It brought back memories of a lovely warm sunny English summer evening, which is a nice respite during these dark days of winter. Roll on spring I say! :o)
I love that you give us the history on the bottles that you find 👍
The anchors are really cool!
Great video. My favorite bottle was the clay (?) one 😍
Try looking for a boat called J. Jones you may get lucky 🍀
Love the latest video Si.
The anchor is beautiful ❤ actually so were the others you showed on the table. Just amazing
Thanks Deb!
Great mudlark lads, thanks for sharing. That anchor is awesome!
I live close to Longfield, nr Gravesend. It is so cool to see all these ol' things. Thank you!
8:17 - At first I thought he said "legscellent" lol
Jack Jones = Butcher on "Dad's Army" 😃
Congratulations on all your great finds!
What a fun mudlark with you today! Love the anchors, so very cool! Ah, the ginger beer is a great find and Matt's lovely bottles were a great way to wrap up the video! You two are like the dynamic duo or maybe more like double trouble -- either way it's always such a great time with you both! Til next time, take care! xx ~Jen
Thanks Jen! Yes I haven't found one for a while so super happy with that!
loved the ANKA with J Jones brilliant
ps RIP poor eel
It amazes me to see some of crazy things you find along the river - every lark an adventure!
The anchor was fantastic and the bottles were very nice too. Thanks for the hunt!
I like that you took time to digg up some old pictures and history of the bottles. Thanks!
Excellent video. Interesting, educational and leaving the viewer to want and see the next adventure. Thanks for sharing.
That leg would make a great planter.
Might have to give it a peg leg!?!
🦵🤔
Kathy Senn
Just put the stump side on a wall. Then surrounded it with a few more flower pots for stability.
Nah...you can make a leg lamp!! “FRAGILE” 😆😆😆
@@orangepinkgarden Heads' up!!
👀👴👵👨👩👧🧑👀
@@lyarnes my thoughts exactly. "FRAGIL - A" and put it in your Living Room window at Christmas time.. as a decoration. One of my favorite holiday movies.,
Very interesting collection of bottles, loved the history! The anchor is stunning. My fav item was that leg, which you should have brought it home and stuck it in your garden. :-)
Anchors away!!! loved the look back segment. and the the research you do for the finds
Great hunting -- lots of intact/mostly intact bottles! You should sell anchors on your Etsy site! Although shipping would cost a bit! And you should have taken the mannequin leg home! That would clean up well and be great in the back garden! Thank you again!
I love that you tell us all about the history of your finds. Great video, thank you- love your anchors ❤
maybe the metal thingie is for leatherworking. smack with a hammer on the top and the bottom part makes an inprint on the material?
Si, I so enjoyed this video! You and Matt had some awesome finds! I love, love, love the anchor, I couldn't have left it either! Your collection is fantastic! I so appreciate the history you give for your finds. Love the Muck!
Another awesome video Sifinds!

Well done Simon. You’re getting very very good at your narration buddy.
The Man With The Hat Ah thanks pal!
Great finds. Yes, I think that you are correct in the one bottle what's left can be turned into a candle holder with the diamond shapes at the bottom.
I could watch your videos all day. Keep up the good work.
Awesome Simon I love those anchors and the bottles you fine or good you stay blessed and I'll see you on the next one my young man

Those anchors are brilliant! I really love the bottle hunting videos. That black glass is a beauty.

In Greek, ETSY means "like this".A very much used expression of ours......
Fab fab fab what great finds
Oh-my, that leg & bum! Too funny! 😃
Hi Si and friends, thank you for your time and effort and videos. Awesome and amazing. Diane from Southampton UK
What lovely anchors!!!! Great finds Simon! Cheers!
Amazing what ends up in the river... Cool anchors 👍🙀😎
Nice finds, thanks for the history. And the anchors are awesome
Great stoneware beer. U had some great bottles and the anchor looked like its ready 2 go on another boat. Great vid.
Cheers Lisa!
That leg would make an awesome planter with some geraniums and a few trailing plants in the top! You would get a mint for it at one of those fancy garden centres.
Great vid Si. x
I definitely plan on buying some of your bottle finds for my makeup brushes! Such cool finds.
Ms. B Awesome! I’m sure you’ll give them a good home!
There are times I would love to give my kids a tazer to play with, but they are illegal- so I bought an electronic fly sweater instead, the 17 year old has shocked himself twice already... 😁
That was all very interesting Simon. Thank you for sharing.
Cool finds!! Love the anchor.
@22:36 Looks like a fence finial.
I've got a Symington WITH label on it still. Labels bit scratched but ckear as. It's got a weird company trademark, like a distorted arrow headed swastika.
Great finds as usual!❤️
That pice of Metal It’s a type set hammer it’s for tapping the blocks into place in the frame for printing ....wow what a find Si
Thank You 🙏 Blessings.. now J ,Jones is the name of the boat check marine boat registered in that name
There at port authority,, Good luck ...🍀👍
If your lucky you’ll find the slip where the boat is moarded ,,! Mite even be a longboat ,,
J. Jones wouldn't that be the name of the Blacksmith that forged the anchor? Cool adventure! Thanks for taking us along.
Objective Observer Possibly, but Blacksmiths usually has emblems or a smaller stamp. I think this was done after he ‘ lost’ a few anchors
@@Sifinds Thank you for clarifying.
That eel looked a tad pathetic with its tongue sticking out 😂 thanks for showing us all details ! Makes us feel as if we were there.
Thanks GM, that's what i hoped!
Very nice vid. I was so carried away watching it, I missed half of the women's world cup final !
Wow, those anchors, wonderful! And fantastic bottle finds! I especially love the ginger beer bottle and the Walker & Son, beauties those. Love the historic pictures and historical info, Si, thank you! Looking forward to the next adventure!
Thanks WWG! We certainly had some Luck in the Muck!
I don't know what it is but in such a fast paced materialistic modern world theres something fascinating and refreshing about people searching for stuff in the mud and the way you buzz over the details and history of stuff is much better too watch than all the lame ass manufactured drama so common on CZcams. Cool channel.
Thanks Ken - appreciate that mate - I'll keep em coming!
Fabulous anchor ⚓!!!!!!!
As usual a great informative interesting video. Love to see what your repurposed bottles look like. ❤❤❤
Thanks Tracey! Hope you liked the music on this one 😉
Yes👍👍😊😊😊
Some very nice bottles Si Finds. Looks like you had some luck in the muck! One day I'm going to get there and get some luck in the muck. Thanks Kindly,Simon. May you find a leather sack of old gold coins! Love, Light and Peace! DaveyJO in Pa.
Oh wouldn't that be something! My treasure is the thrill of the hunt!
Very nice finds there Simon. I didn't really think you were serious about the ⚓ anchor, but, never underestimate a mud-lover ! Doesn't any film company want them as props ? Davy Jones's Locker ! comes to mind
Thankyou for sharing your larking.
What a lovely adventure
Well you did well on bottles! I like those coffee and chicory extract bottles, folks here put coffee in baked beans! The lead thing is a plumb bob. I laughed at the stun gun, .... I've had two microwaves go out recently and I left them out for our neighborhood scrap hauler, I felt obligated to warn him about the capacitors inside them so he wouldn't get zapped trying get the copper out! I love English stoneware we find some here! Awesome video. 😃
Fabulous...LOVE the anchor. Do you display them? I'd have to hang that last one on a wall somewhere.
Another great muddy day to find awesome stuff sweet Si 😊👍
Thanks, Si. Your videos are always great. I love the anchor. What a great piece.
amazing the condition of those bottles, awsome hunting guys
Some really neat finds chucked away by persons unknown so long ago. Poor eel didn't make it back to the sea.
Really enjoyed this as usual, lovely old bottles,
Always interesting, Simon. Chicory coffee tastes a bit like muddy Thames water, so that Symington essence bottle was right at home!
Great stuff lads thanks for the lovely trip 👍🇮🇪
Nice to find things with markings on it
And your nice si i watch all of your videos
Lovely reflection
Awesome finds!
Great video Si Fore Shore
🙂🍻👍
Nice, well done fellas
Great finds! Great Anchor!! Manny Perez from Wisconsin U.S.A
