A stand alone single (not originally included on any album) recorded at Hansa studios in Berlin with Chris Kimsey producing. The original release featured the title on hand drawn artwork which was mis-spelt as 'Ressurection Joe', so the song retained this title for as long as the vinyl was available.

I love this song! What a bass line!
I think I just stumbled on Ian's lyric inspiration for this song while watching 1958's "Corridors of Blood" film short. Christopher Lee plays "Resurrection Joe" in it. The song doesn't mirror the movie exactly but the similarities are noteworthy.

I’m 51 now…been a Cult fan for nearly 40 years…saw these guys this week in Belfast. Incredible gig and amazing to hear this song played live.
I'm 55, been listening to them since Southern Death Cult - was blown away hearing this live on Monday at Brixton

@@mrscientific4956 No! There are no slaps in this! You can watch Jamie performing this live. You will see that he plays near the bridge (probably with a treble-heavy tone setting) with a pick. He adds some pops in, but not slaps. By his own admission, he never played slap bass on any Cult tracks.
The KICK ASS Resurrection Joe from The Cult with that slap bass which gets me going every time I hear it! DANCE!!!
An excellent and inventive video for a fantastic song. The Cult / Death Cult were at their best on the first two 12"s, "Dreamtime", this record and "Love".
They should remained in that style. They fucked all calling Rick Rubin. Ian and Billy could posed as Rock stars in 1987/89 but they should remained in that style

Absolutely, i remember being at the launch of the Electric Album, was so excited about hearing it. As the Band walked out for the signings, the Album started playing. I thought straight away. Wtf is this!

@@GwynethLlewelyn all bands evolve. I didn't say I didn't like their later stuff or I want them stuck in a timewarp. I've seen them live about 10 times after 1995 and I still love them, but it's a shame they didn't funk it up a bit more as it added to their sound in my opinion.

I've been listening to a lot of David Bowie lately and the music and tempo in the song "Look Back in Anger" reminded me of this.

First heard this live when they supported Big Country in 1984 and almost forty years later at the Death Cult gigs. But have never seen the (brilliant 80s) video til now - in fact I don’t think I even knew it existed. They don’t make ‘em like that any more !

Back in around '85, Music Box was on a rotation where you had to wait 4-5 hours to rehear a song. This was one of the songs that I really to hear so I waited. It's still fantastic after all these years.

Yeah Electric was when they changed though if i had to admit it i liked that album too at the time. I prefer SDC and Death Cult now.
I've followed them throughout but still prefer Love period tbh. She Sells Sanctuary is one of my top two all time songs.
I thought Electric was terrific - it was AFTER ELECTRIC that it became too much. Post Punk was not the only good genre of music.
They never been "Metal". They turned a more electric and sounding Rock and Roll band some later, and a mix of everything nowadays. Long live The Cult!

Or even "Ressurection Joe". Your post contains a typo relating to a typo! If that's not great, I don't know what is! Apparently, Jamie drew the record sleeve and then realised that he'd spelt "Resurrection" incorrectly. The band told him told him to leave it as it was, hence the manky spelling.
