These small appliances only use 200 watts and are great for cooking in small spaces. They are great for RV cooking, van cooking, car cooking, dorm cooking, hotel room cooking, office cooking, etc. They are small, portable, and light weight so they are easy to travel with. They are also excellent prepping gear. Since they only use 200 watts and cook very fast, they can be easily run off of a generator or solar power station.

Dash Mini Rice Cooker - amzn.to/3hjtnJf
I'm a seinor service volunteer for my apartment building. Some of my seinors eat less because they can't stand long to cook. I've introduced these little pots and they are calling me to pick up groceries for their little pot cooking. The tongs were a game changer for safer cooking. I use it upside down to lift the pot from my Perfect Cooker. It has no over edge. Thanks for sharing.
That's awesome! Glad to hear that these mini appliances are helpful for seniors. :)
Great deal & hack. That Schulte-Ufer is a $50- $90 pot on Amazon.
Amazon DCIGNA 1.5 qt pot with strainer lid fits perfectly
You DOLL! Thank you for this! I was looking for the pot she recommended but couldn't find it. Started looking at others with lids, but gave up. I appreciate you posting this more than you know.
What a great idea, made me hungry to Paul.
Looks delicious! I bet that pot would fit my mini aroma rice cooker too👍. TIP: if you add the honey at the end, it will preserve more of the nutrients because heat kills the enzymes…
👍😁
absolutely great find! i'm not sure how well the original inner pot would work as a steamer since it doesn't have the holes in the bottom, but if you needed a double boiler for any reason for a more gentle heat, it should be perfect for that
I’ve found that you don’t need holes for a steamer to work. My Itaki Pro Electric Lunch Box cooks by steaming and neither of the pots included have holes. Also, I’ve used a regular stainless steel pot to steam seafood in the Dash Mini Rice Cooker. You can check that out here - czcams.com/video/G0mtf6UVQy8/video.html
Yes you definitely got a good buy. I have seen it with the lid and it is $32.99. Soup looks delicious! TFS
This is such a great recommendation! I was given a Fosslang brand milk pot with lid for the holidays a couple years ago and after this and your making beans in the rice cooker video it’s been my go-to method for making beans for the past couple months. The milk pot helps eliminate the bubbling-over/evaporation problem from the bean video (in fact, I actually just use the lid the whole time so I have some extra bean broth to use), and I’ll actually speed up the process by boiling water in my electric kettle before adding that to the beans. It makes the perfect amount for one person for the week :)
The one from Amazon has a strainer lid with two strainer hole sizes included.
I like this new pot because it can be used on an induction cooktop. I have been using a portable induction u it for quite a few years and I,love how quickly it works and then can be turned off and it stops all the heat. My stove/over is about 23 years old and has died quite a few months ago but the glass cooktop still works. Thus large pot looks to be quite useful - I have a Home Goods pretty close to where I live so I need to make a trip over there really soon. Thanks for all your great videos for the small appliances - I have quite a good, collection of the Dash ones.!!!!
thanks for watching! 👍😁
Holy potato, THIS IS GENIUS!!! I put a Dash mini rice cooker on my housewarming registry when I moved last year, figuring I'd use for oatmeal, steaming veggies, and so on. I began using it for so many more things and then I just found your channel which has been a major game-changer. I definitely want to get one of these for vegetable steaming because I found the original bowl often burned the veggies, and now I can make DOUBLE the mac and cheese recipe without ending up with too much. I also got a Daiso by me so I'm getting that pot tong you suggested!
Glad the video was helpful. Thanks for watching!
Good Mini Hack...I'm not into mini as you are but, I have a few in my collection...enjoy your channel, very informative...enjoy your Advent month with the Mini collection, would like to see more like that...😀
Thanks for watching!
Mine is a bit smaller around and made in Germany, with precise German engineering. And my lid fits it, sort of 😁
Ooh this is exciting! What a good find!
The soup looks yummy!
It was so good! 👍😁
I have a milk cup similar to this up in my cupboard. I'll give it a look!
I know this is an older video, but a link to the recipe would be nice😊
I noticed that you listed the power stations that you use. I was just resercing the net and came by an renogy power bank. 12v 266 watts and an 15 amp output. Just thought you maybe interested to know.
Gerard.
Wow! That’s awesome
Great idea!
Absolutely brilliant!
Good option, soup looks yummy!!
Love this!!❤❤🙏🙏
Thank you...great video and recipe.
Thank you so much for this video, you answered my question! Now I don’t need to call the Dash rice cooker company. I was wondering if I can use another pot in my mini Dash rice cooker other than the one that it came with. Because sometimes I need to make another dish after making rice and I don’t want to empty the rice pot and again load it with another dish. Now that you showed us this pot, I would love to buy one like that! This is great, thanks for sharing. 😀 I was wondering if there is any way you have the diameter dimensions of this pot that you bought? Also the height? If possible, can you please let me know? Thank you.
Helpful video thanks for sharing dear friend ⚘️
How many qts. /liters is the SUS pot you got at Home Goods?
Please add a link to that pot so others can buy one.
I don't have a link to it. I did not purchase it online.
Where did you get your stainless pot? I don’t see the Link? I hadn’t thought I needed this until because I have a 3 qt instant pot and a glass lid also that fits it. It’s more wattage but it’s lower than the larger units. It steams and sears sautés and of course cooks rice pasta and much more.
HomeGoods
I've never heard of Homegoods. Is that just in a certain section of the country? I live in Minnesota. That soup looked amazingly good!
It’s a nationwide chain.
It’s a company that’s related to TJ Maxx and Marshalls. We have a HomeGoods here in Lincoln Nebraska, then have one between Lincoln and Omaha and then they have a least one in Omaha but they might have two, I should check. I got my rice cooker in Omaha I believe and then I have an egg bite maker that I got in the HomeGoods that’s between Lincoln and Omaha in a smaller city called Gretna.
@@femaleKCRoyalsFan Thanks for the info.
They have Homegoods in 3 states where I have lived, California, Tennessee, and now Massachusetts. I don’t know about other states.
Would the heavier weight damage the heater thing inside the rice cooker? Rice cookers know how much liquid there is probably by weight.
Rice cookers operate by temperature. Once their temp goes above the boiling point because the liquid has evaporated/been absorbed by the rice, then they shut off.
Where can I get that pot?
You can usually find similar pots at HomeGoods, Mashalls, or TJ Max
Disappointed to hear that it's only simmering after a 1/2 hour whereas with the pot that comes with the rice cooker, the coated aluminum pot, it would be boiling in a couple minutes. I found the same thing to be true trying to find a stainless steel pot for the rice cooker myself, because who wants to eat off of aluminum, right?
The pot that it comes with does not come to a boil in a few minutes. It takes about 15-20 minutes
