    I love everything about this :)
    A “trick” I know about is putting a quarter under the butt-end to keep it from destroying the rubber.

    I like to tape it with the head on and start my tape job on the back side of the shaft and end on the back as well. Same with electrical tape

    It’s illegal for high school and college but for men’s league I like to bend my shaft a little, sort of like the old crank shafts. I’ll put my stick on a curb and hop up and down on it a few times.

    Personally I go from top to bottom so that I can end cleanly on the butt end rather than starting on it, also take my sweet time so my overlaps are all perfect to satisfy my OCD lol. Definitely recommend Howies and cloth tape in general

    Would you consider a quick pass with a heat gun to help set or smooth the tape at all, is that just overkill, or is it maybe detrimental in some way to either stick or tape?

    • @ECD
      @ECD  Před 2 lety +1

      You could but I'm not sure it is necessary.

    What is the potential benefit of moving the butt end higher on the shaft, rather than keeping the lower hand as far down as possible?

    • @ECD
      @ECD  Před 2 lety

      There is no true benefit it is all a preference.

    Here's a suggestion that just came up yesterday. What can you do when you have a CF stick that is starting to show its age, and just gave you a splinter? Happened to my son last night at practice. Need to get him a new shaft, but until that can happen, should we just put a wrap of tape around it, go into the affected area with some super glue, or just bite the bullet and get that new shaft as quickly as possible? (by way of reference, his current shaft is an ECD Carbon, and the area in question is near the top)

    • @ECD
      @ECD  Před 2 lety

      Eric,
      It sounds like a new shaft might be needed, but in the mean time I think you could get a way with a piece of tape for a practice. If you emailed us photos we could help take a closer look

    • @ericwerner3691
      @ericwerner3691 Před 2 lety

      @@ECD I took a look in better light, and there are couple of small chips/cracks in the surface. At a game or tournament, a quick tape wrap would get you past the situation until you can replace, but looking at the impacts that it's taken, as shown in the paint, it's just a matter of time. Yeah, obviously, a replacement is needed, since there is damage to the CF, even if it's not enough to shatter in play. I'll send photos anyway.

    what is the difference between hero semi soft mesh and semi hard mesh?

    • @ECD
      @ECD  Před 2 lety

      Semi soft mesh allows for more feel and customization in terms of stringing your pocket, semi hard will offer a more consistent release and have less feel on the ball but will not bag out as quickly as semi soft mesh
