A really simple way to make a stand alone laser work with Mach3/4 is to use the Z- pin as a laser on command along with a simple AND gate with the spindle PWM out pin.
    S0 = 0 power and S100 =100% power.
In the CAM software you can assign a tool number and save it as Laser, you then need to set the depth of cut to minimum and plunge rate to max ( along with Z speed in Mach3).
Then you can run any spindle type program as a laser.

    Thanks for the interesting content!
But did you manage to solve the problem of delaying the movement at the moments when the laser is turned on / off?
After all, when executing commands for controlling the spindle and coolant, Mach3 causes a delay in tool movement.
    Thanks.

Hi Dawid.

      Hi JP
all noted noted on your setup 36v PSU for steppers - Good
12v 30a PSU is good for all you 12V devices including your Laser, The Device connected to the power supply can not use more than its required amount , So if the laser requires 12v 3A a 12v 2A psu will not be a good idea , but 12v 5A will be perfect ..so long story short 1x12V PSU is good .
      For the Laser to work
      ---------------------------------------
      12V+ PSU to 10V RnR
      12V- PSU to ACM RnR
      Laser - to ACM\12V-
      Laser + to NO relay
      Laser TTL\PWM to AVI RnR
      12V+ PSU to COM relay
      12V+ to Relay coil A
Output(2) RnR to Relay Coil B
      Note:
The Output chosen will need to setup in the Spindle setup (CCW) =Pin2
you are welcome to whats-app me or video call ( number on website in the video description )
If you are using a Spindle that has PWM control you will need some isolation with slightly different wiring .
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

Thanks for the response, Regarding your laser driver it might be a little more complicated than just buying the first driver you find, I use the 40Watt NEJE laser the has a very simple external driver which has very few components, Some lasers have complex driver boards, the best advice at this point is to identify what laser you have and find more info or datasheet. hit me up with more details and I could try to help in your quest to find a compatible able driver board.

I contacted Gadgitech.co.za and I can buy the 5.5W Laser driver board from them... but Im not sure if it will work with my laser. Its the closest I found to a driver board for my laser in South Africa. Any thoughts on this? One more question: did you manage to get rid of spot burns? The Bitsensor control board does not support M10/M11 commands. The M3/M5 commands causes spot burns. Apparently the answer is setting up one of the axis to switch the laser on and off, but I've not been able to get this right.
