Hey folks,
The end credits with jokes you’ve been asking for to return for a long time now are back on CZcams!
Enjoy!
- Nick (Managing Editor of Video)
Escapist Thank you, Escapist!
Good to see this.
yayyyy!!!
Awesome! Thank you!
I love those things, really encapsulates the series in it's own little thing!
OH MY GOD, YOU BROUGHT THE CREDIT COMICS BACK TO YT
"good", "effective", "neat": this is a glowing review.
yet all for nothing as it is brought back down to shit with "epic games store exclusive"
@@chiropteran2966 We must all live with their sins
Chiropteran 296 but it on PS4?
@@chiropteran2966 Not for those of us with PS4s.
@@hoodedman6579 the lesser evil I suppose, though because of their new censorship policies I refuse to give Sony money ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Please, please, please keep this ending credit style! I love getting the additional jokes. You teased us with it once before, please do not let this be a repeat!
They said they will in a pinned comment due to popular demand.
@@hanro50 Thank you for letting me know! It wasn't there when I made my comment.
> "Random documents and audio-logs" throwback.
> Return to the old "comic book" credits sequence, complete with witticisms.
These just made my week. Never change, Yahtzee... ZP is a rare "ongoing classic" and should be preserved as such.
I love it how even when Yahtzee likes a game it still comes across like he's really angry at it for some reason.
Looking forward to new Yahtzee E3 vid, also enjoy his brutal dissection of the event
If by brutal dissection you mean slaughtering it with a chain saw than yes that's accurate
If i brutal dissection you mean atomically dissecting every atom of E3 then yes you are correct.
Can´t wait to laugh at an industry that never learns anything
I just watch it so I can eventually see his reaction to the Psychonauts 2 gameplay trailer
@@Sir_Bucket CMON MAN......fromsoftware and nintendo presented awesome estuff.
You brought back the ending jokes. Well done. I'm forgetting who runs escapist now. You did a good.
Who.does.run this brand now?
I just love the idea of Yahtzee's head attached to a mobile ball drone rolling around everywhere
The return of Random Documents and Audio Logs!!
We find them stuck in notice boards, we find them under dogs
@@Refloni We'll stick them in a file and we'll give them a review, when we're bored of all the gameplay and there's nothing else to do!
@@jackdutoit3891 (drunken slump to floor)
I was so, SO glad to hear that again!
if this game spent time explaining the fantastical elements of the plot instead of having you confused about what part of the station you're in and what you're supposed to do, it would be a great movie
"You are a (possibly malfunctioning/damaged/low budget) space station computer" sounds like an awesome concept that should be explored more, perhaps in a less linear game. Maybe also, make the your goals not always exactly conform to the goals of the humans (not sure if they do that). Maybe they start having secret conversations in camera blind spots, sabotage things, or disobey your advice if you don't keep the little meat sacks contented. They may disable your access to the fire suppressors or door/airlock controls or might disconnect their private terminals.
These limitations can make it more difficult to complete your mission. Heck you could have a real "score" as an in-universe reward algorithm (AI are meant to maximize some metric, so they need to have a quantitative way to know if they're doing well). Crew survival is actually worth some points, but a lot fewer points than many other mission-objectives. Certain external sensor arrays could generate points over time from the data gathered, so repairing them might be more valuable that certain crew members. Securing a unique alien specimen for pickup might be worth a number of lives.
The interesting part would be the difference between the AI's idea of "success" and human morality. Disposing of liabilities to the mission may have a net positive effect, but doing so carelessly may cause other humans to notice and become less beneficial. Maybe you could get the meat bags to solve the problem.
Space Station 13
Of course your programmed objectives don't match up with the humans' objectives. Yahtzee said you were basically playing HAL 9000, didn't he?
That sounds like a fantastic concept. Do you conform to your programming, or do you create your own priority list of metrics? The final scores in each metric would determine your ending.
@@TheUltimoSniper I was thinking (10 months ago) that the AI wasn't programmed for the job, just given a human-level intelligence (the player) and a heuristic to maximize (the score). Machine learning doesn't tell the computer exactly what to do, but rather what to maximize and then feeds data and/or uses simulations to figure out a good way to do it.
The morally-dubious company trusts their state of the art AI more than the human crew, so you have a great deal of freedom. The humans are useful, but they aren't always obedient. They have morale. They get bored or careless. Disposing of defective ones can impact the productivity of other ones.
I just had a hilarious idea of an AI trying to interfere with the interpersonal relationships between various crewmembers to get them to work better. This couple shouldn't work together since they're distracting each other, but should share rest/recreation time. These two crew members are angsty because they're single, so let's set them up. This one is bored, so he gets the next exciting/life-threating job (or maybe arrange one). This guy is an asshole and sapping morale, so we can either make him less of an asshole or remove him.
Benevolence or cruelty are just means to an end. Creeping out the humans or making them hate you makes them harder to manipulate.
It's been a year. Wonder if you played the game and realized half of the ideas you had are already in this game.
Yahtzee recommends the game? I believe we have a “top-5 games” candidate for 2019.
We have one Yahtzee-approved game so far this year; four more to go.
More like "Game of the Century" candidate
What led you to that observation? (Ba dum tss)
E1 Craz That is a frightening thought when you think about it. We are halfway through the year and have only one obvious candidate for his top-5 best games of 2019.
One thing he didn't mention is that the game is somewhat slow. If you liked Space Odyssey or Moon, then it'll be right up your alley, but if those films bored you, then it's a title you might skip.
Personally I enjoyed the hell out of it. Yes, his nitpicks are correct, but largely inconsequential. There's also the matter that facial animation could be a bit better. It's not Andromeda level of bad, oh no. But it does have that weird artificial doll quality, unfortunately.
Still - the story and atmosphere are top notch.
"Not that I would've done that."
Aaaaaaaactualllllyyyyyyyyyyyy...
This might be the most thorough review he's done yet.
The end credit animation short is back!
Yay the old end credit animations are back again! Classic Yahzee!
Hey, the ending short is back!
Why did they bother taking it away in the first place?
It was taken away from YT specifically. I guess Escapist decided to stop bothering to advertise their other shitty shows no one is watching.
@@fulldisclosureiamamonster2786 The videos have lots of views, does that make your 2nd sentence invalid and guessed shitily?
@@TheReZisTLust Lots of views by their own, sure.
20k-90k _is_ a lot of views on its own. But none of them hold a candle to even the least-viewed ZP.
I think we should scan Tahtzee's brain and make him the default AI for all future spaceships and stations.
Was thoroughly pleased with “you get to play as HAL9000” because that’s exactly what I said to myself when I saw the game (love it).
"Shit gets fucky"... now there's a phrase to start using more often
The review of Metro Exodus comes to mind.
Thank you for bringing the end credits thing back!
I appreciate the well-done Yahtzee review we all love during the E3 coverage. And a game he actually likes! Thank you Escapist
Well I think I might get this game, just as soon as it goes to Steam or something.
Finally end screen animations are back. Yuhuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!
3:23 I really liked that little jingle of Random Documents and Audio Logs
That half a second turn into the "random documents and audio logs" song made me smile.
Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrandom documents and audiologs!
We find them stuck to notice boards, we find them under dogs!
We're gonna put them in a file and give it a review,
when we're bored of all the gameplay but with nothing else to do!
*thud*
Hooray! The little end gags are on youtube!
Infocom's "Suspended" was a text adventure where you played something a bit like the controlling computer, and could only act through some quite odd robots. I wonder if there's a connection.
0:20 “like the last copy of Mayfair on an oil rig”
Oh, Yahtzee 👌
"Randomdocumentsandaudiologs"
"Wefindemstucktonoticeboardswefindemunderdogs"
Hooray! The old credit sequence is back!
Thanks a lot for the returned credit comics! I imagine they should be some extra work in an already busy schedule, so, extra thanks!
The mounted camera aspect of the game reminds me of a game Idea Yahtzee pitched on extra punctuation way back in the day
Oh, you swished back to your original type of closing credits... nice!
The endings have always been like that, the Escapist CZcams channel just blocks them off.
If you go to their website, you can see the unbl8cked endings to every ZP released.
Whoever you are at the Escapist, thank you for allowing these jokes to be in the youtube videos. Thank you.
You're welcome!
- Nick
Just a reminder to never change your intro. Love it.
Glad to know Devolver’s having such a strong year. I hope he enjoys My Friend Pedro.
"Shit seems to have got fucky" is now my new favorite quote.
Loved the retro classic outro slides at the end, kinda missed those.
“Hannbal Lectur’s favorite MLP paired with his favorite wine”
So his favorite MLP is Bloody Mary?
The ending line made me spill my water
Random Documents and Audio Logs;
We find them stuck to notice boards, we find them under dogs;
We're going to put them in a file and give it a review;
And we're bored of all the gameplay, but we've nothing else to do.
The panning speed was the most painful thing about this game
The day Yahtzee reviews Roller Coaster Tycoon
Marks the day I sold my soul for a cupcake.
you spelled Huniepop wrong
"Why not for a doughnut?"
- Homer Simpson
3:19 -- Yahtzee brilliantly illustrates a conversation with his girlfriend!
Mum: oh my God, a serial killer demon vampire has been let into the house and is killing all your family.
Me:...I know right
Funnily, Yahtzee would be a Steven-Fry-Portal-2-tier *_perfect_* casting choice for an on-board AI character.
YAY! The credit comic sequence is back!
Yahtzee, while your occupying that space station AI, would you mind making me a cup of tea, Earl Grey, hot?
You mean dried leaves, boiled in water?
Glad to know Yahtz also struggled with the one circuit puzzle
@4:12 got me there. How I despise logic gate diagrams, flashbacks to physics indeed 😂
Just realized that snip of that pc case is the same one I have. Neat.
I gotta admit, I kinda died at the "taking acid" joke, never change yahtzee!
"exclusive to the epic store"
Dropped right there.
Kurt Mueller he also said it’s on ps4
"I would have regretted it... as soon as the orgasm had passed."
I am so dead.
Lol, yep. That ending. That would be a good feeling of control over the space station to do that.
I love the outro
THE ENDING CREDITS ARE BACK BABY
Love the ending credits!
They used to have them, then they stopped for CZcams.
Hey, that end credits card actually made my day better, thanks!
You're welcome!
Has anyone worked out what the circuit diagram is yet? I'm thinking it might be a ZX Spectrum +3 (TEA2000 was used on the later Spectrums, but there's also a 765-FDC floppy disc controller and only the +3 had a floppy drive).
Random documents and audio logs
We find them stuck to notice boards
We find them under dogs
We're gonna put 'em in a file and keep 'em for review when we're bored of all this gameplay and there's nothing else to do.
**Thump**
It's pretty cool that you play as the computer!
I bet that this’ll be #4 on his best games of 2019 list
oh man was waiting for this one!
Excited to play this once its on steam
I'm I the only one who thinks Yahtzee suits being a cartoon camera, better than being a cartoon human?
Is the end credits scene a Hitchhiker's guide reference? Unable to make tea?
Why does the human prefer boiled leaves to anything we have to offer? Wow, it’s a biggie!
Share & Enjoy!
I love that callback to the "Random Documents and Audio Logs" jingle you made for The Talos Principle review.

*(THUD)*
nice little game, was actually my very first thing (and so far last) I have bought from epic store (yay?).
I loved also the way how you as the player got better during the game and this correlated nicely with theme of constantly improving AI. when I was first "booted up", I was sluggish, but by the end of the game I buzzed around like it was my second job
1:51 THAT MADE MA LAUGH OUT LAOUD!
ZP is the best birthday present i could ask for.
i would love your take on "Between the Stars"
I'm glad you went back to the jokes at the end thing.
One of Yahtzee's best right here.
Reminds me of The Turing Test but less portal, more point and click adventure.
I just finished this game and omg it's so so so good.
I loved this game, it was amazing, im glad he reviewed it :D
OK that ending caught em a BIT of guard
See you next week at the E3 video! Can't wait to see what he thinks of all the things I'm waiting for and his creative ways of saying, "Temper your expectations."
It's actually A Plague Tale: Innocence.
www.escapistmagazine.com/v2/2019/06/12/zero-punctuation-a-plague-tale-innocence/
Hey he brought back the little animations at the end I missed it those
Hahahaha "the destroyer" from the chicken ;)
RANDOM DOCUMENTS AND AUDIO LOGS returns!!!
trying all the codes one by one is exactly how most computers would do it.
Laughed out loud at the end of this one. Almost choked on my pot noodle!
NO WAYY THE END CREDIT FUNNY SHIT IS BACK MY LIFE IS COMPLETE NOW
Wow. A rare thing it is to know when Yahtzee makes it clear that he likes the game. And not leaving us all pondering like he normally does. I would therefore think that this games might make it on to yahtzees list for top five game of the year 2019 video.
There was actually a game with the same idea, Experience 112 I think.
Yay, end credits are back!
Yahtzee liking something makes me happy
Class video Yahtzee!
cool! Credit animations are back!
He tried to speed past it, but he still said it...
"Random Documents and Audio Logs"
"We find them stuck to notice boards"
We find them stuck in notice boards, we find them under dogs!
"Imagine 2001: A Space Odyssey was a found footage horror film, and you get to play as HAL 9000"
This may be one of the single most awesome sentences I have ever heard
Also yay return of the end credit jokes :D
I'm gonna have to watch this video on my laptop to see if I can read what the little window from the end credits says (the one over Yahtzee's HAL face).
“All along you were sharing the room with a cartoon duck with a switch blade and an erection.”
Thank you Yahtzee for that new and exciting nightmare I’ll be having this evening.
Making good changes, Escapist
