#Noita #1.0 #Alchemy - Hry
Thank you to everyone who posted seeds in the comments. With your help, the alchemy algorithm ended up being solved. Here is the website that can be used to tell you the LC/AP recipes in your seed, if you would like to use it: neffc.github.io/narg/

I 100% believe the only reason urine is in the game is because they've been waiting an entire year to implement that fool's gold joke
My guess is that this is a reference to the guy who discovered phosphorus while trying to turn urine to gold.
@@charliepie1212 I agree, especially because of the alchemy theme in this game

It's funny how, even tho almost all of these are completely fantastic, I can still say "That makes sense"
I love Noita so much, goddamn, what a great game
in fact i think the only one that isn't fantastic is sodium's reaction in water
@@Brokensnowball yeah what's up with that anyways? As far as I know salt and water dont explode when you put them together (if they did the rate of baking related mutilations would be much higher). Come to think of it I would *love* to see what happens when it rains near the sea in the noita universe... from a safe distance, ofcourse.
@@dontkickmychick6076 in real life sodium actually fizzes when placed in water and and the hydrogen produced does sometimes burn into an orange flame
@@dontkickmychick6076 Sodium does actually explode in water! The salt typically used however isn't pure sodium. Table Salt is actually Sodium Chloride (sodium and chlorine, both very dangerous when alone, but harmless when together).

One weird thing that I found that wasn’t included in this was that if you eat a frog corpse, it gets you high
Most likely a nod to poisonous secretions of some frog's skin that can cause hallucinations

Its included in the wiki, not in the effects tab tho
Same with fungus
Swamp will convert toxic sludge to swamp MUCH more quickly than water converts toxic sludge to water. Good to know since you can spawn with a swamp flask on occasion.

Also radioactive rock now turns water into toxic sludge
Agh! How could I have missed that? Thanks for pointing it out.
Wouldn’t that create a loop though? The rock turning the water into sludge and the water turning the sludge back into water.
@@songbirdsandsandwiches8217 it's only meant to make that area of water toxic sludge because that's how radiation works.
@@songbirdsandsandwiches8217 Radioactive rock turns water into sludge much faster than water turns sludge into more water, but you can definitely notice the two liquids competing to convert eachother.
3:42 I've been trying to see if there's a hidden connection between Urine and Pyrite (Fools gold) but I'm pretty sure this is just a golden shower joke
Alchemists often tried to convert urine to gold as they saw urine as having been refined in the body from baser materials. This is how they discovered phosphorous.
@@flinfake originally, this was from Hennig Brand’s concept, right? Saw the colors and thought “ahh yes, the exact same thing.”
@@AnUnfortunatePotato Yep. He was, indeed, the guy who discovered phosphorus, though the theories he used to make the discovery are significantly older.
The golden color was seen as a sign of greater purity, but there was also purity in the simple fact that it was excreted by the human body, which is considered by alchemists to be partly divine.
Many alchemical experiments used other human products, semen, blood, feces, and bile, as they were all seen as more processed, and thus more divine, materials than where mundane herbs and minerals, the hierarchy moving from inanimate
Urine does contain a little Sulfur. Not nearly enough to get any form of pyrite, but it is here.
concentrated mana just got even better wow
I have had an entire biome filled with mana because a flask broke on the top and flowed down the biome with the flooded modifier.
Be careful when playing with conc mana, as it doesn't put out fire and easily spreads it.
MY EYES!
Conc mana also eats gold (cause gold is metal too)
Arcane Alchemy + Fluid Dynamics + Alchemical Reactions Expansions = Some of the most fun ive had in Noita with mods. Just the way that Hungry Slime can devour things, and how every liquid has a gas, makes the whole game even more intriguing to play, seeing the chain reactions.
I *do* very much love playing with those mods as well. After I'm finished covering all the major 1.0 vanilla stuff, I plan to do some fun stuff with those mods, including revealing the secrets that *they* have.
As someone doing a chemistry major, seeing sodium explode when in contact with water really brings an smile to my face.
Only way to make it better is by adding the other alkaline metals for even bigger explosions lol
I'm just picturing a single pixel of francium creating an explosion similar to the nuke spell
@@jenbooob YO GAMEDEVS PLEASE
Fun fact regarding that last tidbit about extinguishing fires: In a pinch, the slimeball spell also works well, provided that the fire doesn't have a fuel source like oil. I guess since the projectile is a weak explosion, it destroys the fire without creating new fire to replace it; but my headcanon is more that it's a wet explosion that suffocates the fires instantly.
You forgot to mention that chaotic teleportatium mixed with polymorphine will change it to chaotic polymorphine. I'm not sure if the inverse is true as well.
I didn't see that one. I looked through the actual "materials.xml" file after decompiling the game data in order to make this, but there was a lot to go through. Thanks for letting us know in the comments though!
@@FuryForged People like me are also working hard in Noita's wiki to iron out things one of the new liquids demonstrated Hastium. Well I am the guy that made the page on Hastium on the wiki now its been completely overhauled by Lancar the top of are wiki boards but yha. I also left it at the top of the comments the seed alchemy algorithm has been cracked and we have a web page calculator and a display in game mod. Which I left the respective links to.
I always knew there was an alchemy type of system and after stumbling upon some drought of midas liquid (which got me up to 12k in gold) I became even more curious!
I do have 2 other videos that go into depth about the alchemy and related systems. It's one of my favorite aspects of the game. I will probably be making a final/updated video on all the alchemy again soon.
@@FuryForged Are there any spoilers or major secrets in those videos? BTW I just stumbled upon a full glass of Healthium on my casual run today!! 😱 I stood there in shock for a minute.
I've noticed glowing matter from brine on lava doesn't seem to deteriorate like normal rock does, giving it a unique use.
I think the same is true of volcanic rock too (lava + blood)

after release i found an interaction of flummoxium and berserkium first of all and realized that there are much more of this
great covering of alchemy, fury!
Found LC in my world in the mines... then died cause I am bad at the game. Seed was 395695756. Recipe was berserkium, oil, and blood. could not have asked for an easier recipe if I hadn't screwed up, since I had both a flask of berserkium and a flask of oil.
This seed was on 1.0's release build, so i don't know if it still works in the newer patches:
1272311729
Alchemic Precursor was Blood + Water + Oil (I even had an Oil Cloud spell later on in the run and it was just _amazing_ )
If you pour whiskey on a frog, but not enough liquid comes to get it in a bottle, don't worry. You can just drink it off the ground.
**police sirens fade in**

LC: Water + Ground + Soil
World gen was kind as well and you can take a peak into the LC fish lake from the start
Concentrated Mana evaporates both Teleportatiums.
Dare ya to do a playthrough of Silksong when it comes out
There is a 100% chance of me doing a full series of SilkSong the moment it releases ;)
"See this frog right here. If it were to *Blasts the poor boy* have an accident."
My thoughts on worm pheromone+worm blood is that the worm pheromone is attracting the worm blood, but just goes back and forth in a loop, thus creating the confusing flummoxium.
Quick thing that I found about slime and fire: even a little amount of slime will quickly dissipate a large amount of burning oil.
Having just got into Noita, these videos are extremely helpful and are probably the only reason I’ve managed to get decently far for how little time I’ve played. One thing I encounter a lot while playing but see hardly any info on is the wand connoisseur; do you have any intention on making a video featuring it? You always do such an excellent job on your topics and I imagine we’d got a lot more insight on what it actually is/does, especially when compared to my current knowledge of it which is something akin to “if you see it, run for your life.”
I just got this game and this genuinely fascinates me, love your videos like this
Pour one out for my boi, frog :'c
Cheers bro I’ll drink to that
Well now. Time to test what happens when you have a flask with 50% slime and 50% hastium🙂
Fury, I need more of your Noita videos, I can't ever get enough! ♥
You know what would be a neat mod?
One where it tells you some of the reactions can be made (But not the result) if you select a potion of a pure material. It would be great to learn the alchemy mechanics while also keeping some of the experimentation for the player.
A mod where you can see what reactions + results you've made so far could've cool too, so you can check out what you've made so far if you forgot
Hey @FuryForged, I just discovered an interesting interaction between slime mist and oil where burning oil with slime mist ontop of it causes the oil to burn like alcohol but without the fire spreading super far vertically.
I got a lot of alchemic precursor on seed: 2107013830 there's also a wand that spawns that's a bunch of saws and it always casts projectiles, and adding a mana+ makes it essentially nonstop, broke my sound
Edit: With some further experimentation, I believe the recipe is Blood, water, and gold, so making the draught of midas will make more draught of midas
Glad to see ya cover this! I helped in the frog and berserkium interaction on the wiki. Would love if anyone could contribute!
LOVE THE VIDS BRO
The torches in the holy mountain excrete concentrated mana, so if you kick one into a puddle of water it will quickly convert it all into concentrated mana
YAAAAAAY ! wanna more vids about that !!!
p.s: fools gold is a gold amalgam, a metal that very similar to gold.
Getting concentrated mana in the mines is so good now. It gives you a lot more freedom when wand making as you don't need to worry about mana regen.
Ether it makes a low regen wand viable with high cost spam. Or a medium regeneration wand have effectively infinite mana (awesome for machine gun wands or luminous drill.)
all these alchemy stuff are so confusing for me, but it's still really fun to just watch Fury talk about them :D
Great video as always
a thing I discovered which may or may not be new. You can combine chaotic polymorphine with gold to make silver(this does not consume the polymorphine). I haven't found anything else, but I'll make sure to update this if I do.
I can't find it on the wiki anywhere but i found that by pouring unstable tele into concentrated mana makes freezing vapor
You know what also puts out fire? Water, believe it or not
it's a horrible way to put out fire. Most of the time it just turns into steam.
Which, believe it or not, is way slower than slime! I know, right?!
@@FuryForged crazy how that works
@@Grimthe hey, at least you dont die
@@David-om9ub if there is too much steam, you start suffocating
I want to see runs done where people use a water rain spell and use sodium jars on everything.
Got another precursor:
Seed 89000409
Toxic Sludge + Snow (+ Water) = Alchemical Precursor
throwing sludge on snow makes water though, so you only need some sludge and some snow.
Hopefully, you've discovered more recipes and posted a new one. I just got into the game, but often got too much fun tinkering with the good wands that I find that often kill me at the temple before actually testing it on some unaware hisie.
I don't know if its common knowledge but with one of the freezing spells you can turn fire into liquid fire. It might end up being a component...
I found Drought of Midas liquid and Alchemical Precursor in the same pool in seed 311407652 (in the mines, just before the collapsed mines).
It looked like blood and swamp had formed precursor (though it could be blood and gunpowder as I shot a flaming skull above the pool before noticing the blue precursor in the blood), and the drought of midas was formed using precursor and swamp (or maybe also blood, though I found isolated drops in some nearby blood so it could either be the wrong ratios or not blood at all).
I'd have tested further but a cheap shotgun hit ended my run in early frustration.
So what you're saying is that I can make my own grenades with acceleratium and slime.
Ah, but what is the optimum ratio? That is only for a true Noita to know.
Now concentrated mana is super useful and game changing in iron locations with vast amounts of water
I'm glad I bought this game on Good Old Games sale. :)
I like the sand particles and the liquid-material reactions.
I hope that GoG version will have a proper mod loader. :)
>"Sodium reacts violently with water."
Yes it does. Elemental Sodium(#11 on the Periodic table) spontaneously explodes in the presence of water due to the formation of hydrogen (highly explosive) and sodium hydroxide (which dissolves in the water, liberating more surface).
Good on you Nolla games. Real chemistry for our entertainment.
I am sort of starting to fear that we are getting Noita'd impaled with spontaneous crystals from next big update chemical reactions.
The frog bit killed me.
I've actually stumbled on precursor twice in my (short lived) runs! I'll be sure to take better notes next time I see it
YESS I LOVE ALCHEMY
...can i spray wisky on you?
@@lordfriedrick7911 yes but only with consent
AP 246321667 it spawned naturally in hiisi base after killing some hiisis. possibly made out of some mixture of snow, water, blood, steel or oil.
While playing i found, that "mana" eats all metals (and gold nugets). And toxic sludge can be transformed not only with water, but with snow.
I hope you will tell us about strange pillars on top of the tree, and some kind of monument in left side of tree, and some new ingame terrarian mods. (Like darkness, ghosts, lasers, pumps with water...)
I will be covering literally *everything* about this game over time. The next one will be a tips and tricks video, but I've also already started on videos about the tree pillars, more secrets, etc. I have 4 more Noita videos already in the works and another 3 or 4 planned for after those (plus, a series). Right now I am taking a week vacation to stream Cyberpunk, since I've been working on videos all day every day for over a year and I needed a week to just relax. Much more on the way though!
This is awesome I cant w8 to get this game you make it look so fun, so now with the new motion potions, are we going to see more speedruns??
Its pretty much the same as drinking from the both of them except you dont have to carry as many flasks
@@David-om9ub You appear to have replied to a different comment than the one you wanted to
I think I found the draught of Midas recipe for seed 41226062. In the mine I found a few flecks of it I think from mixing water, blood, and toxic sludge? They were the only liquids around. I found it in the mines near some toxic rock after killing some dynamite and shotgun enemies.
I found some semi-natural alchemic precursor in the seed 1423080556 in the mushroom caves, far left bottom on the second level. I say semi-natural because a lot of flasks got broken in the area (there was an alchemist or two). I believe the recipe was whisky, blood, and levitatium, but I'm not sure.
I wrote a batch file so I can save and load and in my current run I have perk lottery. I tested and it actually matters which perk you take first that decides how many you get in the end. For instance if you want the perk in the middle and grab it the other two may go away, but if you grab the one on the right, then the left, then the middle, you can get all three. It won't be that order every time, that's just an example. I thought someone might find that interesting.
Incredible stuff
One time I tried to make Lively Concoction with Grass, worm pheromone and maybe whiskey. I couldn’t see any being made, despite that being the recipe according to the special seed site on Github. The grass is just too thin, even when I tried kicking some of it into a pile.
fury, i found something really cool, so you know the teleportatium eyes below the holy mountain portals right? so, if you get rid of the teleportatium like by burning it or any other way, the portal above dissapears
it would be neat if there was a scoop or jar item that alllowed you to scoop up powders
Yes! I'm just in time
Even better videos
damn i thought i was cool knowing about the glowing matter, i found it randomly when i spawned with a brine flask and made a bridge over the lava lake
For some reason putting flaming liquid on toxic sludge once you get enough of it will convert the entire pool into water.
wow! ive never even heard of brine, sodium, or burning powder.
Same! I've never seen urine either xD
You mention levetatium creation and the combo of hasteium together*, but can you make hastium as well?
i accidentaly found out about hastium being a thing while being a sheep
POSSIBLE SPOILER!
I have a run on 1.0 and I'm pretty sure it has DoM in it. Steve killed the fish in the holy mountain, then I was playing with chaotic transmuation in the pool. I have a backup saved while standing right next to what seems to be AP forming gold on the fish's body, where 3-4 other materials are touching. Pretty easy to figure out which ones are reacting.
Seed is 276037107, but it probably only happened because of chaotic transmutation.
Sad that it was a couple days ago and somehow lost seed... but somehow i managed to make alchemical precurson in coal pits when coal fell into small pool with water, blood and toxic sludge (before toxic sludge dissolved into water)
So now that powder metals have a use, does the left most Holy Mountain portal in the first area still always have a pile of copper on the ground. I havent played as much since 1.0 but world gen used to always make a pile of copper right below that portal.
I think that metal pockets have constant spawn locations between seeds, honestly.
If I remember correctly, flummoxium and toxic sludge create a nice powerful acid. That burns through rock... or did it explode. one of the two, just thought you might want to know.
This game looks cool I might get it
I don't know why youtube recommended this to me, I have never heard of this game nor something related to this video, but I already love this game
Oh wow sodium actually explode in water. Nice detail
Fury Fury! i wanted to ask if you would ever be willing to make a video on all the unlockable spells and how to unlock them? like Alpha, Beta, Mu, Divide by 10, etc, cause oddly there's not a single video about that anywhere yet and i would like to know how to catch em all
I have a couple videos that tell how to unlock certain spells (end of everything, chests of light and dark, avarice diamond). I can make a video specifically to tell exactly what spells are unlocked where, but that'll be at the end of the list of videos I'm already working on. To give you an idea: I started working on this video 2 weeks ago. I've got several more already in the works as well. If it's in Noita 1.0 then I'm making a video on it, basically.
@@FuryForged alrighto! And thank you, would love to eventually see it ^^
That stuff about concentrated mana is just WHAT
I don't know if it helps. But usually when I use alchemy recipes and want to create midas, the ingrediends are incredibly scarce. For instance I needed teleportatium for the recipe and It was nowhere to be seen in the world apart from killing tp mages. It may be a hint that knowing which ingredient is absent may be a part of the recipe.
So, idk if this is still something you'd need help with, but I found a seed with readily available AP, as well as Draught of Midas: Seed is 220985722. I had the random starting loadout mod on, which started me as a fire wizard. Not sure what made either, but they were found in the snowy depths near snow, frozen rock, slush(?), blood, lots of oil, and (chilly) water. This is on the latest released build (as of tonight). Hope this helps!
EDIT: AP seems to be made from fire (possible melting?) snow, but testing didn't produce a ton. Note that it's not /packed/ snow, but normal snow.
Covered in clime materials less affected by acid and fire.
Sodium reacts violently with water? Can confirm, that happens outside the game too. :D
Cool!
seed: 1671058541
LC: water, toxic sludge and oil (I'm not sure)
There is huge pool of toxic sludge between mines and collapsed mines. You can test it out there.
to me flummoxium is like going fast, it doesn't kill me, it suddenly stopping though, does.
Does anyone know how to obtain Mud? I need it for my healthium recipe and the wiki says I just need to pour water on soil, but the water will either freeze or nothing will happen? Is there something I’m missing?
In my opinion using some tool to figure out the recipe for lively concoction and use it in a run is cheating. I was hoping that they would make a secret place where you can find the recipe written or small pools of the ingredients.
I'm also hoping this. I used an external site to tell me my alchemy recipe only about 4 or 5 times in early-access. That's why I've only ever seen Midas and Lively Concoction about 10 or so times each in over 1000 hours of play. Nolla added in-game hints for some other things, including the orb room lore glyphs, so an in-game hint for per-seed alchemy recipes would be very nice. I'm all for going on a long and difficult *quest* in order to acquire this knowledge too.
@@FuryForged idk how quests work in this game but it would be really nice if there was a very difficult one to pull off (maybe requiring an optimal run or seed) that then unlocked a way to find out in every run after that was relatively easy ( like maybe a hidden room with a wall that only becomes destructible afterwards, containing a crystal that tells you your recipe but breaks if any digging spell is used in the vicinity)
It would just be nice to have a tiny bit of permanent progression in a game that’s already so hard lol (again idk how quests work if there are any, I’ve only had it for like two weeks now and I’m trying to avoid learning too much online before I have experiences in the game)
you should make a video on the chaos dice
I'm going to make a video on all the new items, not just the chaos dice, since that'd be a really short video.
Waiting for concentrated mana + The Lake water combination. If this works, somehow.
Oh, it does.
When I drink too much whisky at parties, I usually teleport to my home, kind of makes sense to be that way. But it is unstable.
Found another seed for you, 359213074. Combination is whiskey, water, and coal. This is also AP
I had a run where Alchemic Precursor was Water + Soil + Blood. The seed was 1939589611
Correction: After double-checking, the recipe uses Soil instead of Oil.
Not sure what the exact ingredients were, but I found some mystery fungus the other day. as far as I know it doesnt have a use but it was cool to see some anyway
Fungus blood (the liquid in mushrooms), Toxic Sludge and Sand. That was added a loooooong time ago and, no, it doesn't really have a use, yet.
@@FuryForged Are the ingredients for mystery fungus the same on every seed? I thought it was random like LC and AP

AP and Midas discovered in mines. Possibly (blood, coal, water) or similar easy found combination.
Idk how I made it, but I think blood+ambrosia+smth else makes midas touch, and it will make gold around the little puddle its in
