You drunk and ate music Franco, RIP papa, aman born by a woman, what else can we say surely, agreat talent was in him .The sweetness of your music though resting in peace will be enjoyed by many generations. Dr. Robert Nyabaro mainya PhD- Kenyan citizen.
Kindu... Methinks it is a matter of preferences....to me ''La Pigeon Voyageur'' comes third after Youlou, Josky, him, Djo Mpoyi, Madilu etc Nway they were all good, name them lugendo, wuta mayi, Ya ntesa, Ndombe......i totally concur with rahndi that they would ''up their act'' when featuring for TPOK... God bless them
You likely have access to more Franco content than I do in the U.S.A. I love Mangwana but really marvel at Youlou Mabiala's voice. Madilu, great with OK Jazz but on his own, very disappointing, forgettable and trendy. Funny, but I never liked Tabu Ley. I have several of his CD's but I never play them. He did his best vocals and writing on the two CD's he did with Franco. He and everyone else seemed to raise their "game" when they were with Franco. Franco was uncompromising and they knew it.
Houèee franco formidable
The dancer to the far right, at the 4:40 mark, is Yondo Nyota. She is the late sister of Yondo Sister, with whom she was the Yondo Sisters.
The speed is on the high side; contradicts the essence of rumba.
....this man knew his business very well and was way ahead of the game. Wonder what the world of music would be if he was still around.
HE OPENED DOORS FOR ALL AFRICAN MUSICIANS TO EUROPE!!NO QUERRIES
