Owned ours for a month. 1000km driven. 8.1l per 100km doing 70:30 city:country kms.
It’s a rock solid car. We have a 18 month old kid and a big dog and it’s perfect for us. We just sold our GLC for this and have zero regrets.
good story bro.
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you're enjoying it.

Would I buy another Kia? You betcha but something like the Sorrento that has some ground clearance and if Kia did a twincab ute it would be on the radar.

Thinking of getting rid of my 2018 VW Tiguan for this.
This car smashes the competition for six and exposes the poor value of 'premium' cars like VW Touareg and base model Q7/X5/ML that all cost 30k more than the much better equipped Sorento. Bravo Kia!

I have personally test drove one of these vehicles only a couple of months ago and I may say that I was so impressed with what KIA are offering. It drove absolutely beautiful and and handled great, The comfort was outstanding, I had no dramas with the power and responsiveness. I loved the interior design and it was encouraging to see KIA bring something different to the table. I personally rate it highly compared to other small SUV's in that price range. If anyone is looking for a new vehicle, id encourage you to just take one for a test drive and see what you think about it.

Not as solid or durable like the ssangyong rexton
I just love the way you go into detail on knee rooms and head room. I think your the only motor journalist who does that with such enthusiasm..Great job keep them coming especially SUVS
I just did a test drive of the Gt line-disesel, yesterday. What i observed:
-Looks even better than in pics and videos, although the side view looks plain but it suits the overall muscular look.
-Interior was very porsche and very high end. Infotainment was very smooth and high resolution. Only thing i didnt like were the air vents, not my taste but wife loved it. If this had the interior of the new 2022 tucson it would have been perfect. My other small issue was the driver display, the blindspot monitor in the display was small and most times unusable, check this if you have impaired vision.
- The drive was almost perfect, the car had an intense acceleration. The diesel engine sounded mean and muscular. Very quiet inside the car, can only hear the engine at high revs. You feel the small bumps slightly because of those 20 inch alloys but on bigger bumps i felt nothing. 0-100 kmph was like 7 seconds. Car was giving 7-8 l per 100km mileage. Also, the car is ridiculously good on corners.
This is my balanced view,i loved the car, its a percect family car. I will be buying the GT line diesel next month.
When the wife makes you sleep on the couch now you have another option lol
👏👏 true!
Had mine for a week, truly an amazing SUV with a European feel, and you are right, no other vehicle comes near it for the value and features. Luv the muscle car look about it.
Well done KIA, going from strength to strength...
Thanks for sharing and glad you're enjoying the new wheels!
Myself Im waiting for the plug in model here in Canada. I'll have to wait one more year : ( This car presentation is the best I've ever seen , My congratulations to Paul Maric
What does "European feel" mean exactly? I think you've been reading too many marketing brochures
can't wait to own it. In Vietnam, the highest version of the Sorento 2021 is 75% cheaper than the lowest version of the Mercedes GLC.
I think you will find the new Hyundai Sante Fe highlander will compete with the Sorrento and it will basically come down to which car you prefer to look at.
Thanks Paul. Thorough as I learnt to expect when you were still at the old channel
Welcome back! And thanks for watching.
I sat in one of these today and I’m completely won over. The interior design is amazing. I especially love the bonnet hump you can see from the drivers seat. Very impressed.
My parents just brought the top spec one the other day and man it’s a fantastic car I’ve loved driving it. The leg room is fantastic super comfy in the back and very quiet. The build on them done it so well Kia have done it so well. But thanks for the reviews you do they are super helpful. Hopefully ,ore skoda reviews soon 😊😊😊
For a 62K car it is a disappointing mess not to extend the curtain airbag. Sorento would have been better with 5 seat version with extra luggage space in that case. I would rather have kids safe than chat to them on driver talk.
Millard Keyes my parents don’t have super young kids anymore just me and my brother and we both in our 20s this car is just for them and so they can travel more and have to not worry about a trailer. After many years of hard work they deserve something nice. Little kids will not be in this car much only the two of them so they are happy with it. Can see where you are coming from though. 😊
Millard Keyes not many if any cars have airbags on the third rim unless it’s a people mover van. So to bag out this car on something like that like your shit don’t stink isn’t appropriate
I am comparing it to the new ssangyong rexton g4
Which is more solid and reliable ?
@John Cain it’s quite in highways and urban as well don’t hear much noise. But only when you are outside you notice inside the cabin is quiet. Very nice cars to drive
So much included and a very pleasing design. Well done again Kia.
Great thorough review. I have owned a Kia Sportage 2.0 diesel 4x4 for 12 years. One of the best vehicles I have ever owned. I like the current quality of Kia, don’t like too much tech. Nice as an option but one of the reasons my Kia has lasted so long, is... not too much to break. Thanks again for the thorough review, much better than what I am seeing on other channels.
What a review so structured like a Bond movie from beginning to end. Very well done Paul. I booked one recently after evaluating for almost a year.
Thanks! Enjoy the new car :-)
Personally I think Kia includes the silly ‘sounds of nature’ to flex the Bose sound system
Wow that is jam packed with features. Love the look to’ it looks absolutely beautiful and stunning.
It's surprising how much technology is packed into it!
An amazing review as always, just order mine today based on your review. You are one of the best on you tube , if not the best
I am definitely considering this car over my XTrail which I recently purchased and instantly fall in love the way it looks, it's one of the best looking and feature packed car in today's time
Excellent reviews, I gonna get my Sorento for video review after tomorrow , but with hybrid drive.
Great channel, good job.
Very thorough. Like the indicator/camera combo!
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent review. I rarely, if ever, watch vehicle reviews, however it is very clear to me that you are knowledgeable & very experienced. This vehicle is definitely on my radar as next purchase.Thankyou!
This looks like an amazing vehicle. Awesome review. I like your detail & opinion. 👍
Super great review as always 🙌👌
Best review Paul... As always... Just one thing do this new sorento has parking assist system...like parallel park assist or perpendicular park assist? ...It got Remote parking assist though to be honest it is not practical in public parking spaces like shopping malls... but it's good for home garage parking when you squeeze two big cars in... lmao
Thanks for watching! Unfortunately it doesn't have those semi-autonomous parking features 😪
Great review, as always. Impressive vehicle!
Another excellent video!!
Mate you are one of the most sensible, comprehensive and practical Car reviewers out there. Great detail. Well done. 👌👍
Good job Paul you and your team has more subscribers Than that car costs and I am a proud subscriber
One of the most detailed yet concise review of this vehicle! I think the material is called liquid metal paint. It is not aluminum, but an expensive painting material of some sort. I heard the chief designer mentioning it while introducing palisade's grilles.
Thank you for that!
Great review! Glad someone my height showing proper space inside cars.
Brilliant review 👌
Hi Paul , I’m new to your channel , I’m so impressed with your presentations , chock full of knowledge and honesty , well done mate ,
You just sold me on the SORRENTO , I’m not the smartest kangaroo in the back paddock on tech , but I’m going to have to learn some brilliant features , again thank you 👍🇦🇺
great review!
Luv ur detailed review, really going to help me make my decision. Thank you
Great features and loved the size of panoramic roof. Just want Kia to stand the test of time, with the build quality. Really impressed with the new look Sorento. Rear reminds me of Mustang.
Thanks for your review, just purchased one today but currently a 6 month wait on stock
We own a 2015 Sorento SX and are very happy with it. It has similar plusses and minuses. I'm pleasantly surprised at how effortlessly it copes with gravel roads and towing. Touring is a pleasure. I will definitely consider buying one again
Best presentation I've ever seen. Congratulations
Good detailed review. Thanks!
Nice detailed review. Car talk-like feature was in the Skoda Kodiak at release.
This car is great, definitely considering buying. Thank you so much for this video
Thanks for watching!
Kia fan here, awesome review👌... hopefully it'll reach Malaysia as well
Looking at buying this car. This was a really thorough review. I’ll be definitely watching more for the other cars we are considering. I normally watch carwow but always wanted the Australian review! Great job.
Kia have really improved very beautiful
Great review of the Sorento. Unfortunately supply issues are creating havoc in Australia. Now looking at the Peugeot 5008 which is a beautiful vehicle albeit a little smaller than the Sorento in the third row! Would like to see a CarExpert review of that too!
Thank you Paul
I saw close to all the videos you shot for 4wd
That helps me big time to make the decision
Kia Sorrento it is 💪🏽
Good review!! Can you please test the 2021 Ssangyong REXTON. I would love to see that!
It's a Big seltos from the front! Really love it.. 🥰
Interesting, great tech. What are your thoughts of the kia versus kodiak and vw all space, for the 65 k mark they are all on par, although looks as of kia had way more inclusions
Great presentation
Great review Paul. Just for context on the rear passenger spaces...how tall are you?
Hi John, this comes up as a popup on screen during the rear seat section, but in case you missed it, 185cm.
Hey Paul, not to detract from your great overview, but the voice memo was something found in 2003 BMW 5-Series (E39), and Skoda Kodaiq also features the amplified voice for rear passengers. Cheers!
Thanks for that!
Mine is ordered and I'm only 1 week into my 3 month wait. I was told, come January some order times could be 5 months??
I am obsessed with this SUV. As cheesy as it sounds, the second I got into it, I felt at home. It's so well designed.
I laughed with the salesman that the remote parking is cool but who would ACTUALLY use it that often in the real world? Turns out: me. I would.
In the test drive I ended up having to park it in the world's smallest carpark. I became nervous, not familiar with the cars size etc. Let me tell you, the amount of help it gave me when parking was crazy, and wouldn't you know it.... Right there... In the real world... There wasn't enough room for me to open the car door. I needed the remote parking feature. And it was magical.
I can't wait to sit and discover all its tech and customise it for myself.
Amazing
My dream car! Hope to own one someday🙏
Finally! Was sooo eagerly awaiting your review. While there are other Australian Channels as well that did the review of Sorento before you did, I was eagerly awaiting your comprehensive review.
Interestingly and unfortunately, there are no plans for Kia to launch Sorento in India. Intriguing. Kia really took off well in India with only two products in their portfolio - Seltos and Carnival (the old generation. And there is official words that the newer one is not coming to our shore until 2022 😞). In fact, it’s the Seltos that wrote the success story of Kia in India. They have the highest number of sales figure despite having “extremely” tough competition from the already established player in this segment.
may be because it is an AWD not 4WD and 80% roads in India are like offroad.
@@mikeykeyes : Well, that's not exactly is true.
First, it's true that Seltos sold in India is not AWD (All Wheel Drive) but FWD (Front Wheel Drive) that kept the cost low, hence making it accessible to a large population. Still, it does not come cheap. But Kia brilliantly managed to mask the offroad incapabilities of Seltos by throwing in a lot of features, some of which are segment-first, in the car. This, somehow, made it feel like a Value-For-Money proposition.
Second, it'd be an overstatement to say that 80% of roads in India are like offroad terrain. It might be in the past that pushed the automakers to develop a model for the Indian market different from the one offered in the international market. But its a passe. FYI, India is the largest growing market for the auto industry. This wouldn't be possible if the infrastructure in India was undeveloped for those auto companies.
Great job bro
Tell me about air noise and isolation system same as last version ??
As always great in depth review by Paul. Can we get a review of the Jeep GC Trackhawk next please, would love to see and hear your thoughts
Thanks for watching and will try and get my hands on an MY21 version.
@@CarExpertAus Hi Paul - when do you think you will get your hands on the Jeep GCL my21?
@@justpassingbyful Hey June - it's unlikely to be in Australia until later in the year! But as soon as it lobs we'll be driving it :-D
Very good review
Love your reviews mate, we are looking at upgrading our 2017 Impreza to the new Outback. How does this compare? Be great to get your opinion.
Can you please compare the headlights on this with the competition?
Enjoyable Video 😊 Review. More stylish than the old Model
Awesome review mate. Is that a drive from Hopetoun VIC just wondering?
Giving this a 3.5t towing capacity and an engine to suit as required, would open up a big market.
For real.
The person that designed those hvac vents is a Star Wars fan.
My 2013 2.2 lt diesel does do 6.1 on the open road. He is gunning it and its still running in.
Awesome review Paul. Looking at buying this car once the Melbourne lockdown allows some testdriving. Interesting about the 12v socket up front, I use it for 45w PD to charge Samsung phones extremely quick, whereas the normal USB outlets are very slow charging in comparison
Are they just standard led lights? Any active shadowing?
Saw one of these in a coles carpark yesterday - looks so much better in the flesh. Over web press I thought it was questionable but it’s actually a nice car!
Agreed, the body angles look great in person!
Beautiful car, Loved the design and features.
I have a question, will this car come to Pakistan like do you know where else the Kia Sorento 2021 and the old model will launch.
Because the old Sorento and the new one is yet not in Pakistan.
Thanks for the reviews!☺️
Need a review on the 2022 Cerato!!
Great reviews as always Paul. What’s the color of this car
Omg white noise to put the babies to sleep! ❤️ love love this feature
Great review. Looks like a fantastic vehicle. If you were buying one for yourself would you buy the petrol or diesel? And why?
Hey Paul, I would like to see you do a full review on Mahindra XUV 500
Love this car. But what a pity that captain chairs version is not available in Australia.
My knowledge on cars is pretty limited. But I can see that you are the best at what you do. You will be my goto channel when I will buy SUV.
I appreciate that!
i am getting one, I just need my Ford Escape to live until December 18, 2020 and I am there
Thanks for the comprehensive review. For suvs such as Sorento, Kluger and Palisade would it be possible to include off road reviews as well, given that these vehicles come with some off road capability.
I'm really enjoying your videos, currently looking to buy either an SUV or station wagon in the 40-60k (maybe 70k if it was a great deal) in 2022, whats your top 3? Santa Fe and Sorento both look good.
Thanks for watching! To be honest, the Sorento would be at the top of the list followed by the Santa Fe. If you want something with a bit of off-road prowess I'd also include the Pajero Sport in the list.
Any idea whether Kia will release a 6 seater version with third row Captain's chair?
Loved the detailed walkthrough...Would be great to see a comparison of the Sorento alongside the Skoda Kodiaq and Mazda CX9 as I'm just tied down between these 3 vehicles
Thanks for watching! We are working on a comparison format at the moment :0D
Would be also great to add the New Hyundai Santa Fe to the comparison list as it will also be launched with some common features from the Kia stable.
Considering same three here, have you decided yet?
I drove test one 2 days ago. Made the deal and my 6 months (sadly, realistically probably more thank 6) are running for delivery in Australia. Then I found this review and I don't have regrets for now. Even got the same colour. I have hear the reputation of Kia but 7year warranty is not bad at all.
Hey mate !! Which colour did you buy ?TIA
@@shubhamsabharwal6949 Gravity Blue it's called
Noice job Kia. Great review👍
Hi,
Your reviewes are worth watching and you are doing great job.
Can you please give a review on Peugeot 5008 Allure 2020, 7 seaters for Australia.
Thanks
Peugeot 5008 is junk compared to the Kia. And not a real 4x4 suv. Build quality is also not good
Driver talk feature was already in the Kluger since 2018
Excellent video. You should have compared it with Mazda CX-9 and others in its range. 👍
Would you have this over the Kodiaq RS?
This is just an excellent review,
Made me think to get rid of my Skoda Kodiaq in a blink of an eye. Well done Paul and Thats a wonderful Design KIA.
Saw this in person yesterday and I love the front looking from the side, similar to CX5
very nice review i'm considering a kia or hyundai
Last one I sold because of the diesel engine noise inside the cabin, how much it's improved on this new model compared to the last one?
Please do a review on Mazda CX-8
Will try and get our hands on one.
Are they still using a foam/concrete mix for the seats?
Love it Paul, can you please do the new 2023 Kia Seltos GT AWD? 🙏❤❤
I heard they dropped off the 360 camera on the Australian version compared to the Korean version - wonder why?
How is the v4 with turbo compared to a v6 suv? Is it pretty smooth? That’s the only thing I’m worried about is engine noise and pull. Car looks slick.
Engine noise is fine inside the car, it can be a little noisy on the outside (the diesel). The V6 is a very smooth and silky engine, the only downside is it's only available as front-wheel drive unfortunately.
How does it compare to Mazda CX-9? Which is your choice and why?
Paul amazing and detailed in depth review as always!!!
I might wait for the plug in hybrid as it would be less gruff then the diesel and faster.
Is something like a Volvo XC60 or Q5 on air suspension leagues above this car like the price tag reflects, or could this GL Line hang with the next segment above?
I am really considering this as my new family car, I think In the real world this paired with a Model 3 performance is the perfect garage. P.s. still waiting for your Tesla review of your own car!!!!! 😊
Cheers mate, keep up the great work your a legend.
Do you really believe they'll bring the PHEV?
Cee I don’t believe I know, early 2021.
Its slated in for the first quarter of 2021 for the hybrid. The plugin hybrid will follow much later in the year possibly the 3rd or 4th quarter.
How was it with the 20inch tyres? You missed that bit
