@@GamerGrade yep. The other thing i was thinking is that, basically, no one talks about stages of a build. Clarifying by saying early/midgame doesnt factor into any build when you're finally ready to find ciri, and most builds basically start in the kaer morhan siege

don't rush into buying alchemy formulas, you'll get them from treasure chests
Yeah buying them is more of a personal preference, as i like to be able to implement all alchemy items asap for my builds. Also some formulas (such as Superior Northern Wind) are only available by purchasing . However, for beginners on a 1st run, you can stick with simply looting.
@@GamerGradewell, you are correct to say it is highly recommended to purchase all diagrams/formulas at the start since once purchased it is there forever, a little nick on the budget but still very good investment.

Another two things for newer players that helped me a TON:
for way more inventory space early on, get the free dlc nilfguardian horse gear (mainly the saddlebags for the inventory space increase) as soon as humanly possible. At crows perch. 😊 it’s at the guy across from the dwarve and blonde skellige woman armorers. It takes your inventory from like 30 to 130 or something like that. And it’s not even that expensive. You can def afford it by level five or earlier. I always do that then I never have to worry about inventory space the whole playthrough. That guy also has a very nice Nilfguardian armor you can wear once you hit level ten.
And since nice looking armors are rare very early on, at level five make sure you go back to white orchard to the merchant you save in the beginning and get the free dlc armor he has. It’s called the Tanerian armor I think. It’s very nice looking with great stats. Gotta save up for it tho! That with the nilfguardian horse gear and you’re set early on. Make sure to download those free DLCs tho! Happy witchering!

The White Orchard merchant sells the Temerian armor, the crow's perch as you mentioned, and there's another blacksmith in the An Craite keep in Skellige that sells the Undvik armor

If you're focused on Signs, get Rage management and Attack is the best defense. RM lets you take adrenaline points and cast signs with them. AITBD makes it so that defensive actions give you adrenaline points. Dodging primarily gives you a 3rd of a point.
Use both alongside Griffin school techniques to massively boost your sign up time.
Then get your alchemy to the fourth row so you can take the alchemy perk that boosts your mutagen buffs so that you can slot greater blue mutagens into your perk slots and boost their effects.
Then build your signs up. Tip, go hunt places of power. You can have 50 perk points before you're even level fucking 20.

How does one get to the skill tree I haven't even touched this I'm level 25
@@dunkn8203I think that mutations skill tree is something you unlock during the DLC because you don't have that in the base game just the screen with all the squares which are skills you can unlock.
Euphoria is still pretty strong even after the nerf. You can use like 3 decoctions and 3-4 potions.
Metamorphosis is also really good but to make it consistent you have to drop a lot of decoctions until you only have around 5 of the ones you want (you have to craft them again if you want to get them back). But you can have all 5 every potion active with no downsides. Should definitely get the Bottomless Carafe from Heart of Stone to replenish potions n stuff between battles, though (quick menu then x or whtv meditates without having to go into the menu).
You can easily take Euphoria to 4 decoctions. There's a trick. You can use the toxicity boosting perks to activate decoctions and then unequip those perks without losing the benefits of having the decoctions up. The game doesn't deactivate decoctions when your Toxicity limit doesn't match the Toxins you're experiencing it'll just not let you activate anything that'll accrue more toxicity.
The only thing you lose is the potions because your toxicity will be maxed out and frankly I don't consider the potions to really be worth it. None of them really have any effects that the perks don't already give you and the only time I'd consider it necessary to use a potion is if you REALLY need a big heal. But even then I'd rather just pop Quen and use the decoction healing combo.
But even losing out on potions you can just use White honey and then drink White Raffards. You'll lose the decoctions for the rest of that fight but if you're pushed that far, it's already last resort time. Or you could use the perk that reduces the toxicity cost of potions with adrenaline points. Even if you're max Tox that perk would let you exchange adrenaline for potion usage if you really wanted it.
It's also pointless to take the overdose threshold perk IMO when you're aiming for Euphoria because what you can do instead is take Troll, Ehkidna and archgriffin decoctions and then a 4th of your choice.
Troll will refill your health overtime outta combat, in combat it'll stem how much health you lose from being overdosed to a slow bleed. Ehkidna will recover chunks of health when you use stamina which will counteract the overdose health loss.
And finally archgriffin will take your heavy attacks and expend your available stamina to deal the heavy attack damage PLUS 5% of the enemies health bar, and because this takes stamina, it will refill your health on every heavy attack you land. You don't need a full stamina bar to activate the effect either you can literally spam heavies and just regain health (though it's faster to alternate light then heavy back and forth)
So heavy attacks and Signs will both refill health and when combat ends you'll just go back to full anyway.
There isn't really a more powerful Decoction than archgriffin as it makes EVERY fight no matter the level difference more than manageable because all you have to do is land somewhere between 10 and 20 heavy attacks (20 being the max but your own blade damage deciding how many it actually takes) and you'll kill the enemy, and troll is super useful for general health regen and ehkidna just straight up makes your non-standard attacks cause significant regen.
A fourth decoction of your choice can then be applied for whatever the hell you want and you have a system for making Archgriffin provide massive damage and massive regen, while the other decoctions support it and reinforce euphorias buff
And you don't even need to keep the toxicity perk in the slot you just need to turn it on when you're applying your decoctions then take it off again, replace it with whatever other perk you want.
They killed my favorite one smh. Piercing cold WAS the best then they nerfed tf outta it. It used to either kill completely or do a lot of damage, now it can still insta kill but at a significantly smaller rate.
Additional tips:
-buy saddle bags for more inventory space
-and kill the cows in Meull’s farm to get thousands of cash quick by selling their leather to Passiflora (innkeeper money reset is 5 in game days for next gen right now).
i havent tested it myself but i heard if you kill too many cows it actually spawns a powerful boss to prevent farming. might have just been fake news though
For the swords and armor, to get the most coin possible and such, go to novigrad and then skellige. Once you fast travel a little to different islands, villages, go back to novigrad and sell to hattori. Repeat the process to maximize profit.

If you count dlc's the rune master from Ofir can make a rune that makes heavy armor being treated as light armor. Stamina for days?

I'm on ng+ using a magic build focusing on signs, after using euphoria several times to beat the game I really like this build, killing enemies with aard, quen or igni is a lot of fun, despite not having as much physical damage with swords.

Grandmaster griffin sign build is by far the funnest play style
Was playing this yesterday and stumbled into a brothel I was unaware these were available, I thought it was funny so I screenshot it on my Xbox..... 5 hours later I received an email from Microsoft claiming I uploaded "adult imagery" and now I've been suspended from using the Xbox online/social side for 4 days🙄 I wasn't aware the Witcher was so deep that you can actually get suspended from showing it to people 😂. I can still play just offline for the next week

talking of Witcher gear 2 sets can be equipped at 20 ursine (bear) and forgotten wolf gear if you did the quest in Velen that is next gen only ofc
As much as I’m aware that Euphoria Alchemy builds are OP, with Aerondight and the Whirl perks and everything, I still just prefer going for a brawler/mage hybrid type build. I just wish there was a transmog system, so I could use the Bear Armor Aesthetic without having to spec heavily into Quen, and focus my points into something more offensive.
Using Aerondight with Whirl + Severance kicks ass! 👊

Gourmet was nerfed. Now food regenerates 10-15 health points for 60 seconds instead of 50-80 for 10 seconds, so gourmet only regenerates 10-15 health points for 20 minutes

Gourmet absolutely still is for sure. May of nerfed but it's still amazing.
Gourmet + infinite food from heart of stone dlc makes a good combo
@@pryceice7523 gourmet is outclassed as soon as you start investing some points into alchemy. infinite food is a pretty terrible reward compared to the others. if you're relying on gourmet and food throughout the game you're doing it wrong. there's better ways to heal.
Euphoria's still the best mutation, but it's a lot closer now. Top 3 are Euphoria, Piercing Cold (with the Yrden/Aard build using the new Forgotten Wolf gear, and Bloodbath.

Armor until you’re 70% through the main story. But you’re able to get all the enhanced, superior, and master crafted diagrams throughout the game before you get to Kaer Morhen, so by the time you’re able to get the base wolf diagram, you’re able to upgrade it to superior

Also, since the patch I've experimented on some builds, I decided to go back to a full Manticore build with a mix of Signs and Alchemy.
I invested my disposable points to Aard, I've yet to experiment on some signs, but Aard is my go to for now. As for Alchemy, Acquired Tolerance, Synergy, Fixative and Protective Coating (I might change this).
I also found that I am able to drink 4 decoctions and a potion without ever losing health. I crafted the Troll Decoction recently and what this does is essentially regenerates health while you're in and/or out of combat as well as being damaged by toxicity. I had to sacrifice taking the Succubus Decoction but with Euphoria, it doesn't matter much. My main focus with this build is to do enough damage before the enemy tries to do the same.
Definitely gonna miss 'Top Notch Swords' 😂

While it says level 14 for wolf gear, you also need to have gotten to the point in the story where you go to Kaer Morhen. If you take your time doing all the side quests you’ll be way higher level by the time you go there. But it’s good armor regardless and you could probably upgrade it to the second tier immediately if you took your time playing

Yeah if you're an experienced Witcher, then definitely leave off Gourmet. Alchemy is great, but if you know how to game the systems, then it can also trivialize things, so at the very least leave off Acquired Tolerance and Euphoria. 👍

I recently got my griffin set and this is my first playthrough, and I'm still running around Novigrad but I feel like I shouldn't wait too long to go to Skellige. Also didn't get the dlc so I don't think I can get gourmet :(
Take your time and explore side quests etc, there's no rush :)

Honestly with the Witcher, you can go to Skellige whenever you feel you’re ready, but unless you’re a completionist, you’re gonna have something to do once you’re back in Novigrad/Velen.

Gourmet is absolutely overpowered. I always have to have it in my build it my favourite of them all.. Even if always stack useless food that in the end I usually just put in a chest because I'm too stupid to sell it.

Euphoria was nerfed and some of the perks need to synergize build the new strong build is Metamorphisis
Euphoria still does more dmg dan metamophosis. Sure metamorphosis lets you have 5 Decoctions up easily compared to the 3-4 with an euphoria build, but show me the decoctions that makes up for a 150%+ increase in sword dmg and sign intensity
Only sell swords to people who you have done something for a quest or friend with them the give better prices

Gosh i miss this game.
Well i think it doesnt really matter what you skill or which weapon you have cause at a certain level the enemies get easier anyway :D Its same like in Cyberpunk 2077.
I mean i always use witcher equipment (the wolf school gear and sometimes the bear school gear) but it doesnt really matter. I always skill Quen and try to max it out. Combined with good dodging you can beat the game really easy even on Death March (what i am playing right now).
Yeah you're right. There's many viable ways to kick ass in this game, especially if you keep your Witcher gear upgraded + Quen 👍
The only thing I hate about Wolf gear being lvl 14 is that there is no way you can get it at that level!😂 by the time you wrap up velen, novigrad and skellige to fo to Kaer Morhen, you would be level 20 something at least, and thats by not doing sidequests
One of the things i don't like as well. They throw in these witcher armors early on but they are located in areas that are close to the end game lmfao
Can u still glitch the animals In town killing them and walking for a short distance and then returning to respawn them but their dead body will still be there to be looted for money glitching or did it stop with that recently update.

This is cool, but how is acquired tolerance a damage dealing ability?
It basically increases Geralt's Toxicity threshold (by collecting alchemy formulas). This then allows Geralt to chug multiple decoctions simultaneously, allowing him to deal far more damage which would otherwise be impossible, as long as you know which Decoctions work synergistically. 👍

First time played I didn’t knew gourmet skill, I ate all the food during boss fight with Kiera in the cave, I died, I respawned INSIDE the cave with NO food, I cant get out, the only way is to go to my previous save files, I lost 3 hours of progress, it was hell.
Unfortunately they nerfed HP regen from all food sources by around 80% in the update 😩
Maybe now I can finally play it. I always quit 5-10 hours in 😅.
i would probably add tip to not sell good looking swords as you can use them for decoration later in the game and that leveling up Axii skill is good for conversations (tho i dont remember how was called the particular skill), other than that decent advices tho this game is easy enough to not go for alchemy build.

Euphoria was so ridiculous I stopped using it. I actually prefer deadly counter just for those automatic finishers.

Gourmet is not that useful up until mid game, early game sure go for it but it becomes obsolete quick

I remember an exploit with the Euphoria mutation from a while back, but idk if it's been patched out. I tried it and it didn't work like it used to but it was still damn good. Anyone know if it's been patched?
Yeah it was nerfed, still good but not OP anymore.
Dont dismantle the swords you cant sell because they are relics and there is only one of them in each game

No idea why they nerfed Gourmet so much, I’ve played the game twice and want to finish it on a more casual easy difficulty this time, still not dying but makes some fights way slower
The nerf makes a massive difference, about a third of the regen rate 😩
