The best way to chum for sharks 🦈 is to chum first. Meaning diced meat and blood fish guts and blood will call the sharks in. The biggest Great White Shark I’ve caught measured 12’ 18” 1400 pounds. Off the coast of Baja California. While chumming for it first. Then she finally hooked. About an hour and half later I got her next to boat unhooked the released her on her way.

Great work on the video. I noticed you spent all that time & effort to setup yourself up for a great day of fishing, only to have another boat run through your chum slick & disperse the slick which can shut off the bite or at the very least pushed the fish down. Which can ruin your day on the water. The Chumming flag is working to reduce those unfortunate annoyances, by promoting sportsmanship among anglers. Rainbow trout from a fish farm,plus carcasses filleted from the trout anglers at the end of each day.
Have you ever considered using chum for pike? Could be a fun idea to try during the colder months
You get it from your local agricultural supplier, if you type it in in your search engine it should come up with results and numbers you can call.

Where can you find cheap smelly fish to use for chum? I don't want it for shark fishing; more beach fishing for the rays and smooth hounds - I have seen your other video where youve used it in a bottle but I don't remember if you mentioned the name of the fish you used for it. I'm young so on a bit of a budget lol. Last time I caught a ray was on the flood after casting out about a pack of squid which the crabs kept nicking even with elastic on so that extra bit of attraction might increase my chance of targetting the bigger species

Where do you get your bran from
oily fish, bran and a couple of cups of Pilchard oil plus a couple of onion bags is all that is required to make a good chum / Rubby Dubby.
can you use chum for general beach casting graham
I have used it,but in a plastic bottle anchored out for tide to cover.Its in a beach film of ours.You need to look through the playlist as I can't remember the name of it.
Just wondering I don’t have trout here …would say herring … poddy mullet…catfish parts/ carcasses…and different kinds of offal that I can get relatively cheap a dash of tuna oil maybe some fishy catfood etc 🤔 for bull shark in estuaries…mash it all up …chuck it in a burley pot ? Or just chuck it out? (Land based)
Burley pot I would guess,but you could also throw it out. They do it in the Channel Islands by taping a big plastic serving spoon to a 2 foot pie of tube and throw it out with that. Remember to take a piece of cloth or towel for a handwipe,but using the long handled spoon makes it a lot better.

If I can get ahold of fish carcasses, could butcher scraps mixed with grains and animal blood work?
Probably,but in tropical waters.I have tried gallons of animal blood but you have to mix in an anti-coagulant or you just end up with one big cloggy cube. Fish carcasses are the way to go,and you can freeze anything down so when you use it the dispersal rate is slower.I freeze mine,both with bran as a ready mix,and unmixed.

Chum is good for all sea fish. Especially Dogfish. Cubes of fish are better for Stingrays as they sink to the bottom.
