I feel like the bun made her more menacing
Damn. Shes Robin Williams daughter? ;-; I didn't know he had children
Plottwist me too i just thought some normal va voiced her and also i watch on germany so i probably didnt even hear her
He three kids. One with his first wife. Two with his second
Of course he had children what did you think he was an alien na noo na noo👽
@@jamesmachuta2010 plenty of people dont have children but what I meant by it is I hate the idea of his kids having to hear about how he died
*Nanu-Nanu”
FTFY:)
That's so amazing, from braid to bun. It'd almost to represent how she went from kind to power-hungry.
Lmao, is Braid to Bun something ladies do to show a change in emotion?
@@thalmoragent9344 well, if you got the hair length it's normal to try different styles. It could express a change of emotion, lifestyle, or even time one has.
@@thalmoragent9344 the bun is far more practical for both administrative work which likely involves a fair share of looking down at papers while also being more practical for combat as it’s harder to grab the person by the hair.
During book/season 3 she was also a practicing dancer, so the braid may have been a more aesthetically pleasing choice for her performances without being as messy as simply wearing her hair down.
@@thalmoragent9344 Usually, I do it for when I'm having a busy or bad day, since it doesn't take much time. And I worry less about my appearance.
She does share a few phsysical features as kuvira
"easier to animate a bun during fights rather than a braid"
Ty Lee: am i a joke to you
I think Kuvira chose the bun so her hair would stay out of her way during fights. Don’t want any enemies grabbing her braid and restraining her
I love that he named his daughter Zelda
One of the few people to be redeemed as well
Except that she wasn't redeemed at all
@@acfacf4657 in the comics she did
@@dusty6719 a fact that you and 13 other people might know.
@@acfacf4657 Exactly why they said it.
@@acfacf4657 thousands of people read the comics just cause you never heard of them doesn't mean they're unpopular.
I am kind of surprised more people didn't realize that Kuvira's voice actress was Robin William's daughter. Zelda did an awesome job. ^^
i’m rewatching korra with my partner who hasn’t seen it before and I’m really struck by how interesting of a character she is, it slipped by me the first couple watches
Book four of LoK has the most visually appealing design, especially Korra, kind of like how book 3 of A:tla is the same. All the books look amazing, but the last season of each series just stand out more visually, and in A:tla's case generally.
I think i knew zelda played kuvira but i never realized how similar they looked
She definitely feels like the most real villain of the series for big bads of the show are all really good.
Damn, didn't know saving the protagonist's father is foreshadowing to killing the protagnist's girlfriend's father 's's's's's
Yeah i don't get how those are related...
Sounds more like the uploader was reaching on that one just to add to the trivia.
I mean, if he/she/they needed more trivia that badly, a deeper search through the Avatar Wiki and/or IMDB would probably do.
I knew she was going to be important bc she was specifically named but not in many scenes.
YES I see it!!!! The actress does look like Kuvera cast her as the live action if they make a like action TLOK!!!
I like to think she put her hair up in a bun because she was literally getting down for business that last season.
fact 6: The creators realized too late that they made Kuvira way too sympathetic of a character for her to be a villain, she even made much more sense than most of the main characters at the time. Thus they had to suddenly have her do a bunch of Super Evil stuff so the audience doesn't forget that she's supposed to be rooted against.
WTH are you even on? She was literally not sympathetic at all. Even after finding out how rough her childhood was in the graphic novel still didn't make her anymore sympathetic.
The hell do you mean WAY TOO SYMPATHETIC? She was literally unsympathetic for most of the series until the writers used “Too little, Too late” to give her backstory
@@toadlord8594
I personally found her somewhat sympathetic. She's arguably the most sympathetic of all the villians.
She's the story of an indigenous woman giving up her life of privilege to to save her violent, backwards, fractured nation rife with poverty, famine, banditry, and civil war and colonial trauma from a century long war that ended less than a century.
There's a strange anti-colonialist and anti-imperialist aspect to her character given the recent history of the Earth Kingdom.
@@GreatUniter I mean personally I just didn’t find her character so engaging at first. She seems to share aspects of Azula and Ozai but without much of the charisma that made her an engaging antagonist/character, least to me. Almost like the writers put her on some pedestal like she’s their Sasuke Uchiha
I don’t hate her but she’s just my 2nd least favorite antagonist next to Unalauq, since she’s not as interesting or charismatic as Amon and Zaheer + Red Lotus.
The comic of Ruins of the Empire kinda underwhelming to me and I just find her redemption emotionally dissatisfying from a writing standpoint.
@@toadlord8594
I agree with a lot of this.
I agree with you on Ruins of the Empire. I liked how cooperative Kuvira was for the most part and how she didn't run away from the consequences of her actions. I also liked how she doesn't get to live as if the whole Great Uniter thing never happened.
However the comic itself felt emotionally unsatisfying because the character interactions with Kuvira didn't feel real. I expected far more hostility in her interactions with the Krew and a lot of family drama with the Beifongs because they should harbor complicated feelings about her.
I can see why you'd say she isn't as charismatic as Azula. Kuvira is a very blunt, straightforward, no-nonsense type character unlike Azula who is far more witty and has iconic lines.
I personally my third favorite antagonist as Azula and Amon rank higher than her for me.
I love Kuvira so much she so pretty and her voice 😊
Kuvira was a beast, an earth bender with such fluid and precise movements.
She also was the most dangerous villain. Most villains know that their purpose is evil, but she legit thought that she was doing good and was righteous. Those are the most dangerous type of villains, because when you truly believe you are fighting for a just cause you tend to win
But she literally threatened people to comply and tried to kill a city for denying the offer for them to help I don't think anyone would think by doing that that they doing good
@@trashyCorn.12 the attack on the city was meant to scare. She attacked because she was attacked by Korra.
You don't know some people 😂@@trashyCorn.12
@@Mikethetwilight1234 Personally she just never seemed Final Boss worthy. Especially in comparison to Vattu and Zaheer in earlier seasons.
She is a prime example of how a lot of villains started off as really good people.
I thought it was a mole lol, also I didn't know Robin Williams had a daughter
It is still a mole, he's just explaining the reason the mole was given to the character👍
Plus that moles in the exact same position as the mole on the face of Mao Zedong
In the scene when she saves koras dad theres tension with music making it interesting
I’ll be honest kuviras my favourite villain in tlok, definitely the best
Yeah I did find crazy that when I 1st watched the show I did not know who she was and then when I rewatched the show I realized she was in the background this whole entire time
I like how her character and her motives were clearly inspired by the likes of Napoleon. People who saw stability and balance through military expansion and control. Her intentions weren’t necessarily evil and weren’t unreasonable, and she genuinely believed that what she was doing was for the greater good of the collapsed Earth Kingdom. But you know the saying, “Even the road to Hell can be paved with the best of intentions.”
I mean the parallels of her character in comparison to Napoleon is unquestionable. A young ambitious low-ranking officer (Kuvira - Head of Security for Zaofu / Napoleon - Officer of Artillery in the French Army) uses a “revolutionary” period to expand on their career and impact for their nation (Kuvira - The Collapse of the Earth Kingdom / Napoleon - The French Revolution) both believing that through military expansion and control, it would ensure safety and stability for their respective nations (Kuvira - Reunifying the remnants of the Earth Kingdom under the Earth Empire / Napoleon - Instilling himself as dictator to stabilize France and guide/preserve the revolution for the rest of Europe).
My only complaint with her is that they made her the finale villain for Korra. Kinda seems underwhelming with the likes of Vaatu and Zaheer in the previous seasons.
idk why but Kuvira looks attractive to me lol but of course menacing at the same time
Dam Zelda Williams is beautiful
I didn't know she was voiced by Zelda!
Very impressive video! I was worried it was clickbait and obvious facts, but I’ve watched her two seasons multiple times and I still learned some fun facts! 🤩
Kuvira was awesome. She wanted to reunited the Earth Empire after it was torn apart and colonized by the Fire Kingdom, people complained that she used violence, but that’s how unifications go in history.
I was crushing on that kuvira though
I had no idea she was voiced by Zelda Williams! That's awesome!
How is saving someone foreshadowing her killing someone else??
She pretty
Love how she was a background charcter in season 3, but what if she was the one who taught korra metalbending? Thatd make her more sympathetic later on and that much more heartbreaking when she goes evil
when kuvira voiced kuvira
R.I.P robin williams
Saving a father in one scene and claiming it as foreshadowing the killing of one in another scene seems like a stretch tbh
6 th fact the most beautiful
I knew number 5
When u have the same name : 0_0
Coup Vira
Knew about Zelda being Robin's daughter.
… I kinda had a crush on her as a kid.
What I noticed about Kuvira's fighting style is that it's mostly influenced by Jeet Kune Do
In Legend of Korra series, the villains made more sense than actual protagonist
mommy? i mean, mommy? i mean, mommy? i mean, mommy? i mean…
honestly... i did not realize who she was at first. i was like "who tf is this kuvira woman everyone is talking about???"
she did not, in fact, stand out to me
Mr. Krabs why are you built like that
That last one is a big stretch...
I don’t even remember her for some reason 😂😭
I knew all the facts: the first one is that Kuvira was one of the guards! The second one is she was in the magazine that Lin was reading! The third one is she saved Korra’s father! The fourth one is Suyin refused to rule the kingdom and Kuvira left Zaofu and then the fifth one is she ended up becoming nice at the end of the legend of Korra lmao!
And I'll look for fanart of sexy Kuvira with the hot abs.
But enough that, Kuvira is lowkey a version of Azula if she takes her father places as Firelord, but Azula would be way worse
That last one seems like a stretch
Fact 0: She's hot af!
Zelda has her dad’s eyes.
At the beginning, I thought she was a guy the hole time ! 😳
Kuvira should have won. Period.
I think I'm early lol
your wife is sick of hearing that i bet
@@newt2120
I don't have a wife but the towel I come on, is probably glad I only take 30 seconds lol
@@aceclop that towel must be hot af
Casting directions thought Zelda Williams was actually a psychotic bitch because of how good she was in that role.
I will need to be convinced she is a villain, from my POV she was a W patriot
As a hindi speaker i promise you kuvira does not mean that
Ok, but do I care to know.
I don’t know how saving someone’s father is related to killing someone else’s father but ok. But good facts nonetheless 👌🏾
