War
A war
A war
On the far side
On the other side of the planet
And I've got
War
A war
A war
Right behind my eyes
Right behind em just like a headache
So I turn on
The news
Turn off
The news
Every second our collective heart breaks
All together every single head shakes
Shut your eyes but it won’t go away
Turn on
Turn off
The news
Far
I’m far
So far
From a front line
Quite the opposite I’m safe inside
But I worry and I give money and I feel useless behind this computer and that’s just barely scratched the
surface of my mind
So I turn on the news
Turn off the news (damned if you don't)
Turn on the news (damned if you do)
Turn off the news
Every second our collective heart breaks
All together every single head shakes
Shut your eyes but it won’t go away
Turn on
Turn off
The news
Exploitative
Performative
Informative
We don’t know the half of it
Rhetorical
Deplorable
Historical
And all along we called it normal
All along we call it normal
Every second our collective heart breaks
All together every single head shakes
Don't get comfortable, don't look away
Turn on
Turn off
Nothing new

the lyrics, the relevance, the sound, the energy, the power, the artistry, the authenticity, the conviction and sincerity.... perfect rock soundtrack to 2023. Paramore continue to put out great stuff consistently. So excited to see them live again!!!
Punk soundtrack
What fucking relevance. Its not happening if you arent watching?
@@siimkask14 Ah... the mantra of the criminally self-absorbed: If I didn't see it then it didn't happen. Stretch your hands out to each side as long as you can or until you make contact. Bless up.
Being able to balance their original sound while evolving it to a modern sound is what makes paramore so great. Few bands from that era have been able to achieve that. Such a great song!
Man it's crazy to think I really grew up listening to Paramore. I'm 28 now. Still just as obsessed with them as I was at the age of 12. Thank you for blessing us with your art ❤️
Yessir still love em and still crushing on Hayley she’s only getting better
I’m 26 I only been listening to them sense I was 17

I'm also 28 and a paramore fan since 14. it's literally half of my entire life!!!!
28 here, I started listening when I was 13 😁😁 Paramore always forever
This has old Paramore energy within the walls of the new sound. It's really an impressive song.
I love it old paramore vibes definitely
Haley's hair is red and I hear punk guitar riffs. What year is it again?
Exactly, loved it
Agree. Old vibe. Reminds of of Tell Me It's okay
The sound is from Bloc Party's 2005 album Silent Alarm
Why is this band so perfect? Perfect singer. Perfect guitarist. Perfect drummer. Perfect bassist.
I'm listening to this from the other side of the planet. A war came to my house 2 years ago. And this is a beautiful song. I can't make it go away by turning off the news or shutting my eyes. It's still here and still killing us.
Taylor is incredibly talented. We don’t talk about him enough.
I been talking about for 17 years😂😂😂
Cuz Hayley is a GODDESS, who even is Taylor? I thought Hayleys the only female in this band...
@@chipdiamond5104 Taylor is the guitarist and a man..

@@hansolodolo92 I know that is a lie
This woman. This band. This music. This song. All songs before. spiritual healing for me. It's like it goes right through my veins. I love them since 2009 and will never stop. It's always the right moment the right song. Hayley is inspiration - an idol!

@@nicolasarbogast2739 🎶why cant we be friends🎶
Jesus Christ is the propitiation for the whole world's sins. They that believeth and are baptized (with the Holy Spirit) shall be saved; but they that believeth not shall be damned. Those led by the Holy Spirit do not abide in wickedness.
*God is ONE manifesting himself as THREE;* the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit! Bless him! *For these three are one.*
As I am led by the Holy Spirit, nothing I state is a lie, but the truth of God. Anyone who tells you differently is misinformed or a liar. They do not know God, nor led by him.
Anyone who *claims* to be a Christian and is against what I am doing, and where I am doing it; the Holy Spirit does not dwell within them, they lack understanding. They know not God, read his word, and their religion is in vain. Do not hear them, they will mislead you, the lost cannot guide the lost.
Another truth many have been deceived of:
When you trust in God and cast your cares (worries, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts) upon him, they will be NO MORE!
Know that there is power in the name Jesus Christ! His name casts out demons and heals!
The world is wicked, evil, and of the devil.
I too, was a wicked sinner of the world before I opened my heart to God. I am living proof of God's work and fruitfulness! He is an active God who hears the prayers of his! God's children are set apart (holy) and righteous. The devil is a liar that comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy; that includes your relationship with God.
Open your heart to God, repent of your sins (he will forgive you), and let him direct your path. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands and purify your heart, lest you walk with the devil and follow him to hell.
@@Call_Upon_YAH Bro shut up nobody asked
I could be imagining things but I feel since Josh left the band, it's given Hayley a chance to really bring more angst and depth to the lyrics that was always dying to come out in their earlier work, as Josh tended to keep the riffs light and funky. She has some dark stories and lessons to tell and I feel she finally has more of a chance to do this and with it bring impact
But they still cant live up to the hype of Paramore with Josh tho... i mean if u check Farro's music, he still got that Paramore groove to it
Ikr! I couldn't imagine her having such dark and thoughtful lyrics if I hadn't actually heard it on my own. I love her!! ❤ ❤ Her Simmer video (search Hayley Williams) is really dark, deep, strange and twisted. Have you seen it? She runs through a semi-dark forest completely naked w/not a stitch of clothing on and then she smears red clay all over herself. Really bizarre & intellectually deep stuff.
Hayley's lyrics continue to blow my mind with how relevant they are, not only to my own thoughts and emotions, but the world around us. I love how Paramore keeps enough of their original sound to pique our interest, but also grows with every album. I absolutely loved Petals For Armor, and my ears are thrilled that she brought a lot of what I loved about her solo work over to the band.
This is going to be one of their greatest albums, love they're bringing back the old paramore sound combining with very meaningful lyrics
Yesss, it's giving me the self titled album era
this doesnt sound like anything theyve done before. if u think this sounds like their old stuff you lack knowledge.

I love Paramore with all my heart! I was 12 when I first started listening to them, and now I’m 25. ❤
Shit I'm 28 my middle school years were 🔥🙏 even dyed my hair like hers lol
The evolution of this band is remarkable! the way they've maintained their energy but continuously expanded their musicality!! And Hayley is an icon like Stevie Nicks or Janis Joplin
I love the post-punk influence on this song. Everything from the sound to the lyrics to Hayley's vocals just feel so raw. Whatever Paramore decides to do, they hit it out of the park. Pop punk? Dinger. Emo? Dinger. Alternative rock? Dinger? 80s new wave? Dinger. 70s post-punk? Dinger. I love this band so much.
They did country too
I'm so glad I'm still growing up with them. They expressed my feelings as an angsty teen, they expressed the struggle with mental health as an adult and now they're making music, commenting on the social and political madness, where we need to survive.
Thank you guys for existing and making music, the same time that we are alive, you had and will always have one of the most special places in my heart ❤
@Trinity M You can learn about struggling groups and world conflicts through better sources. I think they're mostly commenting on the bullshit biased news that exists to divide over inform. You can cut out 95% of the dialogue on the news and still be informed.
Combination of old and new Paramore together, I'm getting lots of feeling from throwback into new experience with this one, I LOVE IT!
Absolutely mind blowing. Complete perfection. This is a product of honing in on the sound that created you while adding the influence and growth that was soaked up over the years. This is the Paramore that we all know and love. They can do no wrong. NO ONE is doing it like them. I've seen them 7 times live, starting back at Warped Tour at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. They are back with a vengeance, with angst and anger and with the responsibility of making their fans question the world in the best way possible. Thank you for your artistry. It is because of you that millions of people struggling push through and make it out of whatever they were dealing with. 💜💯
Mike Shinoda called, he wants this song to have more cowbell.
I remember having Paramore play in my headphones while going to school, relating to having a crush and a whole spectrum of emotions that they managed to transmit over a song.
And today, sitting in front of my computer in war-torn Ukraine, I feel like this song has hit me DEEP, like no other song did for a long time. I feel heard

I am absolutely amazed at how you incorporated your original sound within your new style. And it sounds like pure growth, with the rage, energy and authenticity of your first years as a band but with the added experience of being an old seasoned veteran of the music industry. Lyrics are raw and unapologetic, and the music video's cinematography is captivatingly unsettling, the camera shots so dynamic. It gives off the feeling of being inside a feverish nightmare, very fitting with the theme of the song. Really excited to see you guys live next month!

It's the music scale that they used in this song that made it like that. If I'm not wrong, they used E Minor Melodic. It's an unusual scale for western music.

Really grateful for y'all coming out with these songs and sharing them with us. Been awhile since I've felt a song so deeply and angrily.

Pretty basic lyrics but executed well
Paramore have always been political but this song really marks their stand on performative and exploitative activism on social media, money-grab petitions, and the dangerously manipulative agenda-setting of the news. Thank you so much for this song. You never disappoint.

You’re Albums have helped me get through most of my hard ships in life. I just lost my best friend and the music is still stringing me along. Thank you Paramore. 🙏🏻
I am so excited for this concert. I’m so glad they rebranded. They were one of the people I have been wanting to see from my bucket list
All of Paramore songs are masterpiece. The lyrics, the stories behind it, the music, all for me is just perfection. Thank you Paramore, you guys are awesome!
absolutely !!
YA ME ESTOY CANSANDO DE REPETIRLES "HABLEN POR USTEDES MISMOS"!! NO TODOS TENEMOS EL MISMO GUSTO EN CANCIONES!!
ODIO QUE GENERALIZEN.
ODIO QUE GENERALIZEN.
ODIO QUE GENERALIZEN.
ODIO QUE GENERALIZEN.

this is so good but you must hear "Whispering Wolf" or "The Wave" by SLT !!!
This reminds me of the Paramore I listened to as a kid. I can watch this music video over and over again. February cannot come quick enough! Can't wait for the new album.
This band deserves so much they are all iconic and their music is timeless.
Thank you Paramore for reviving the band. Its great to see new uploads 4 year later. Missed you !!
The most artistic video they have ever done. The subliminal messaging that media does to us, and our reaction to it. But how we truly “turn on turn off the news.” I love this new era for them and I can’t wait to see them live in this era next year. My band is back but they never left! 🖤
They’re going to get more bold and creative. I hope they define the genre this decade
Love this baddy comeback et the end 💅💅💅💅💅 love you gurl 💗💗💗💗💗
I'm so happy that a huge band like Paramore instead of writing hit love songs and be on top, talk about things that no one does. They use their fame to do good and that's a very good reason to make art.
I'm glad they are covering this topic but it has definitely been covered in songs before. I think I prefer the New Found Glory song "No news is good news". It talks about people being obsessed with news, the news only being bad and brainwashing people with propaganda.
That song is from the album Catalyst, released in 2004, and will still be relevant 20 years after release in 2024
tom Macdonald is awesome as well
cool if you into political rock songs that talk about serious topics I would recommend giving Rage Against The Machine expect an covers album all of there songs are about serious topics and are also a bit more heavier then paramore
I don't know why I told you this I guess I'm just bored as fuck
@@doomspire there’s never anything wrong with recommending Rage Against The Machine. I also recommend System Of A Down!
@@MrsMuffin11 tf?
i used to listen to this music when i was six years old on a CD in my dads old car, cant belive I'm still listening to their music at 16. this song is incredible.
Can't for this to be played in live! Rock vibe is in it! GO Paramore!
I guess it's safe to say that this era is Paramore's most vocal one. It's not just about love or personal growth anymore. They're reaching on their rock roots for that unconventional but powerful opposing message to the current affairs.
How can I explain that this made me cry, this feeling the lyrics bring has been plaguing me since I was a young child terrified of seeing the news on the tv because it used to scare me so much. Now as an adult I feel like this exactly puts into words what I've felt for years to this day. This band will never cease to resonate with me. Thank you Paramore for making music. You are needed
Facts
So very true for me at 72 now, in childhood I was terrified by the grade school drills of duck and cover for the thermonuclear war! Nightmares!!
Yes they will poison the news now that journalism is dead until everyone turns away to the dark entirely.
Listen to no one but do what you're told.
I can’t believe that I found Paramore in 2009, I went to see you live in 2013 in Buenos Aires and now I’m 24, living and USA and I got the chance to see you again on May. You’ve been there my whole life❤
Sounds just like the old classic paramore 🥰🥰🥰
Subtle twists on their classic style. Progression and maturity while keeping to a signature sound that is instantly recognizable as theirs. Great job
The excitement of every Paramore release it feels like the first time. Today I'm grateful they have been a part of my life, their music made everything better and WE ARE ALL PARAMORE
I can feel paramore 2009 vibes in this song I love this xx
This band is my comfort space I will put my headphones out and literally just fall into this beautiful world full of paramore
Some of that old Paramore sound energy with new sound additions 😍🔥 Can see this song being my favourite on the new record.
I'm pretty much lost for words, I hear All I Know is Falling and a brand new mixture of new sounds. Paramore are the definition of artistry and musicianship. They've been there for me through my horrible teenage years, they are here as I'm going in my 30s. To say I love them and appreciate them is an understatement
I feel the same exact way. Never stop listening and never give up
You can here raw garage sounds and also experimental vocals and harmonies from Hailey's recent solo project.
So curious about it
This kind of song is something I always miss from Paramore. Love it
This song just scratches that itch that every OG paramore fan has needed scratched since 2013
They are killing it on this return I’m so excited for this album.
Y'all don't know how long I've waited for Paramore to drop something new, and this certainly didn't disappoint.
EXACTLYYYYYYYYYYYYY

You know it's nice to know throughout the years that Paramore has not changed and they still have the same rook sound as they used to just a little different this is giving me riot album vibes
This genre should be called art rock
