Really good show. Lloyd talking from a retailer perspective, Tony with a manufacturer point of view. Works well. Tony is also generous about other manufacturers, which I did not expect. Keep it up, guys.
Thanks Richard, I try. BSA trusted me enough to show me the prototype R10 way before it came out, which considering I worked for a rival at the time was an honour. From the start I've admired it. Doesn't mean anything of course, as it's just one man's opinion. If they have finally sorted it's spotty reliability then it's a top choice.
100% concur with you on the HW45 Lloyd and even the pellet choice. I'm on my 2nd one now, having bought my 1st one from you back in 1989. The only thing I would like to see is the addition of a suppressor thread... Great show guys.
Great show Lloyd and Tony. Had my hw45 for many years now , it's a .177 and has dual power , I've always had to put 1-1.5 turns of elevation on between power levels. Great pistol.
I love my .22 caliber beeman P1 (I got mine in the USA)! I recently chronographed it with 11.9 grain H&N Hobby wadcutter lead pellets and has a high of 607 fps!!! It is still breaking in and dieseling still occurs, which is probably why it shoots so hard.
Had mine about 30 odd years , I to bought the stock as well , it also came with a forward sight which fitted over the front blade as the point of impact was high without it , small grub screw to hold it on ,it works well. Great show miss it.
Great to see HW45 article, lovely gun. I would love to see items of other great classics from Weihrauch and others. What about Webley Tempest? I dreamed of owning one in the early 80s....... but still haven't got there. The HW45 is a great buy.
The hw45 is a great pistol I thought is all ways came where you could have 2 power settings and you can buy different caliber barrel quite cheap so you could swap from 0.177 to 0.22 I do the accuracy is down to the balance and the piston witch fires backwards mimicking a low power firearm , I thought that would have been mentioned . Great Show chaps keep it up .
I'm a huge fan of the 45 too, I've had one for 25 years! One good feature that you didn't mention is the ability to swap barrels, literally a 5 min job. I only wish venom did a tuning kit for it.
Great vid as always like the blue r10 but like you I think the cinnamon one looks the dogs dangaly bits. I've got an ultra SE which I sent to Phil at rat works to get tuned and regulated great gun before but now Phil has done his magic it's amazing my of all my rifles it's my first choice for vermin hunting
I bought one two years ago. When it work, it was good just like what you said. The only thing is it broke down on me 4 times in 13 months. I gave up. It is sitting at home doing nothing.
Great vid again, i think your right with bsa quality control i spent £750 on the latest r10 doing 9.10ft lb variance was shocking and now it wont even hold air, not going to send it back to bsa its going to rat works when i have enough money, keep up the good work thanks again
Another great video gents (we love the honest informed opinions), and yes please for reintroducing the Weirauch pistol shoulder stocks. I was shooting my S/H Crosman 1322 with stock, at suspended 4" steel plates at the range on Wednesday out 20 or 30m, great fun - but the basic sights could really do with being upgraded to dioptres. Cheers. Russ
Super show there lads ... Best thing that's been on me telly for ages ... Just can't get enough air rifle vids ... Brilliant ... Really love that gorgeous blue stock , simply stunning ( me Mk4 daystate is virtually the same color ) love both me R1O's ... But the magazines are WAY overpriced ( promise I won't mention that again ) ... The Hw45 is a great quality piece of kit , that said , I wouldn't swap me pp700 artamis for it .. a superb pcp pistol at £200 new ( or less ) got mine from the shooting show at the NEC for £210 including a red dot scope ... I recommend it highly , had too adjust it down too around 5ft/lb as it was running on the Chrono @ 8ft/lb ..which unless you like getting chased around the shower block by a sex starved inmate at HMP Winston Green .. is not good ... Power duly lowered now , better for it anawl .. getting shed loads more shots per charge ... Great show ... Looking forward to seeing the new instalments
I had my he black star break within for first week of using it ( it was a rasping sound on breaking the barrel)but it was fixed very fast it was even crono tested 5.5, no trouble ever since, one other thing" you can change out the barrel to a 22 on the newest model!
The hw45 is a great pistol I thought is all ways came where you could have 2 power settings and you can buy different caliber barrel quite cheap so you could swap from 177 to 22 easy. I know the hw75 only comes in 1 power setting, that's what I thought anyway. I think the blue laminate looks great on the r10. The one thing I would say about the HW44 is I have one and it's great you cannot compare it to the 45 its to different, people moan that the 44 is the same as the 110 but smaller so it should be cheaper, but if its got the same bits and they have managed to make it smaller, then why would it be. You think it's great when they make your new Iphone smaller that does the same thing, but they charge you more for it. Great show again, Tony has not said whether he is bringing the Sterling guns to the northern shooting show yet? I hope he does.
I actually like the blue r10 , didn’t think I would, think it would look good with a blues cerakoted hugget shroud and silencer and blue mounts ( but iv been told I’m a weirdo) I must be I brought a grey shadow and a huntsman forrester new , and didn’t dare shoot them through fear of damaging them .
Webley Alecto, pca nice pistol big handful, full power, half power lower power 2ft lbs , £180-220 easy never given any trouble, he40 in my project bin atm got it £50 used ready to get it fixed now ratting time ?
Great show guys, question, Have BSA got any designs on a Airsporter re-launch ? never owned one and they are one of the great old school rifles. keep at it, a really refreshing show, a bit like pages from the airgun mags if that makes sense. atb phil.
Not as far as we know. You will find most manufacturers are concentrating on PCPS nowadays. Better sales, more profit . Shame as I think there is a market for good springers.
beeman is no longer around when the beemans sold it to marksman moved to Huntington beach Ca that was the last of Beeman I live in Huntington beach Ca put some Hogue grips on the pistol with palm swell I have 2 P1 pistols one with like a combat grip and pistol scope I have had it for 14 years and the other open sights and that's the one with the palm swell grips bad ass pistols a lot of fun
Another great show guys, talking stocks, I recently got in touch regards the new regulator for the Huntsman Regal and needed some advice for a stock replacement (I dont want to make a mess of the original) I believe that the 'Griffin Stock' should fit as the Griffin its self is a Huntsman action, is there any truth in this, and if so am I able to order the stock only from Daystate
Remember , low power you zero for 10 yards , high power you Zero for 20 yards So you could be getting that reading. Also a lighter .22 would be better like Falcon 👍
I have a Mk1 Vulcan, I've had all the Weihrauch's and air arms spring rifles, and none feel as good as the Vulcan when fired, l mean the sound is a thud, very solid engineered, l spoke to an engineer years ago and he said yes the reason is that the pistons tolerances in the cylinder are so good, mines so accurate using FTTs and it likes RWS Superfield,
Not particular interested in either products, but still enjoyed it. Random question, sorry, did anyone figure out what the accuracy issue was with the HW100 .22 FAC?
Any advice for cleaning and maintaining the finish on the exterior of the hw45? I know we're meant to keep oils and silicone away from the alloy but what do we use? A slightly damp cloth or something?
We've cleaned Hw45's for years just with ballistol oil on a rag and it's never done any harm . Silicone is a bad idea due to its metal to metal galling problem but if you don't want to use any oil I'd say a dry cloth as really they don't get much dirt clinging to the surfaces.
Even though you sell them. I’ve owned one myself. Is it as good as a bsa scorpion. The scorpion is powerful accurate and they’ve got the best trigger I’ve ever had on any pistol and can shoot rats. But you don’t sell them I do like the hw45 but I like the scorpion more. And £280 is expensive for a pistol You keep mentioning the scorpion. I personally think it’s just preference. Great video.
I bought a HW45 from Pyramyd Air as a refurbished and I'm thinking the breech seal is getting damaged at about 200 pellets. I've replaced the breech seal twice now so I'm wondering if the barrel is maybe too tight to the seal? I put some silicone spray on the seal to help with any friction that would cause damage to the seal. My first indication of issue is when the gun starts shooting sporadically after the gun is already sighted in.
I would release the barrel with the three screws holding in it , replace the breach seal then re-install the barrel and gently push it in until it touches the seal , then release pressure and nip the screws up again. The barrel shouldn't be forced against the seal as this causes it to damage it when the gun is being cocked . I personally wouldn't bother with the lube as I run mine dry and it lasts years . There could be a possibility of the lube having components in it that might burn and cause inconsistency.
I'm guessing you've checked your pellets don't overhang and catch the breach seal? Should be completely flush where you cannot feel the pellet skirt when running finger over the barrel. I've seen that some people like to seat the pellet right into the barrel with a small tool, also. Did you get yours to stop chewing up the seals? My second hand one was immaculate other than needing a new seal, so have bought in a shed load of replacements (there is an 'upgraded material' breach seal as well as the nitrile rings).
I just bought a second hand one in mint condition with custom walnut grips and paid £250. But it was immaculate, other than needing a new breach seal which was a £2 part. Still dieselling, so it's not been run in yet. I've seen older ones with slightly scuffed finish go for £150, so it could be anywhere in between those figures.
Hi Adrian the bottles used are commercially sourced, so the manufacturer is restricted to what is available. I can't imagine what it would cost to tool up a bottle, but it would be expensive. What is available also changes, and i remember a commonly used paintball bottle suddenly becoming superseded by a different shape, which can really muck up stock fitment
The compact has been about forever. It's a great starter match pistol. The Alecto is a big chunky thing with good power, not really designed for target shooting but really good at longer distances.

I agree, the balance of the gun is imo ruined when you put a red dot or scope on the dove tail rails up front. A rear Weaver is a much better place for a small red dot!
Hot air indeed. This bloke loves the sound of his own voice doesn't he? What was the point of asking the other guy along? He couldn't get a word in edgeways.
oh get a backpack put some food and water and ammo for the pistol and go for a walk out in the open some of the best times I have had is walking around with my P1 and shooting what ever (junk) and laughing
Bought one in about 1989, still works perfectly and in perfect condition. An absolute fantastic gun!!
Really good show. Lloyd talking from a retailer perspective, Tony with a manufacturer point of view. Works well. Tony is also generous about other manufacturers, which I did not expect. Keep it up, guys.

Bought a HW45 today. Been grinning all afternoon! 😆 abolutely love it!
Welcome to the club. Glad you are liking the pistol :)
2022 an it's still the best spring pistol!
Good show guys. I could listen to and talk Airgun’s for hours 😊
It's great that Tony is always completely fair and objective about competitor products - even praising them when appropriate. Another excellent video!
Great show guys, really enjoy what your doing.
Look forward to the next one. 👍
Thanks for another great show, looking forward to the next instalment of airgunning goodness!
I like the close-up inserts , keep up the good work.
Yes, onwards and upwards!
Thanks for the show, keep it up guys.
Keep up the good work Guys brilliant show
Brilliant shows keep them coming 👍
Great show Lloyd and Tony.
Had my hw45 for many years now , it's a .177 and has dual power , I've always had to put 1-1.5 turns of elevation on between power levels.
Great pistol.
Had a HW45 in .22 for a few years, sold it and went to the HW75 for target shooting ( .177 )- fantastic pistols for the money either way.
Great show again thx
Great video again guys. I own a HW45 in .177 love it, great pistols.
fraz172 : thanks for the endorsement!
Enjoying the show 👍
Realy like the Videos.. Dynamic duo, love the honest opinions from both of you.
Nice format guys - keep it up. Your right Beeman did design the P1 Magnum for Weihrauch
Very good point you make about Super H point pellets. I've used them for years in my rifles, and yes, they are a great pellet for ratting.
Nice video!
‘Fit a new spring for you as i spit down my own jacket 😂😂
Keep up the great work guys................
I love my hw45, i brought the silver one with the silver burch wood on the handle grip i use it all the time very reliable fits nice with big hands.
Another great show and I personally like the BSA in blue, but then I’m a BSA fan!
The 45s are a great pistol, l got one with fibre sights 5 years ago, have 22 and 177 barrels, l bought the Hogue grips from your shop.
Looking forward to seeing the range up and running.
Mr Daystate is with you. Great vid mate 👊👍👊👍 well better set up 😊
I used have a BSA Scorpion but iv always wanted one of those
Another great episode guy's
GeeTee : thanks
I'm a huge fan of the 45 too, I've had one for 25 years! One good feature that you didn't mention is the ability to swap barrels, literally a 5 min job. I only wish venom did a tuning kit for it.
I forgot to mention the barrel swap ease Chris . I was worried I was talking too much :)
wish you guys would start these up again! great to watch
Tony is on the run , but I'm starting up the Blackpool Air Rifles videos again next week. Not quite the same but hopefully still interesting :)
@@LloydSchober great to hear it!
My gamo A10 pneumatic was bought here in Barcelona in 1980. 38 years later it still shoots perfectly. 19 shot lead bb magazine. You should test it.
nice one lads,,,just got the hw45
Great vid as always like the blue r10 but like you I think the cinnamon one looks the dogs dangaly bits. I've got an ultra SE which I sent to Phil at rat works to get tuned and regulated great gun before but now Phil has done his magic it's amazing my of all my rifles it's my first choice for vermin hunting

The only thing is it broke down on me 4 times in 13 months.
I gave up.
It is sitting at home doing nothing.
I still have my HW45 and the original box which has both 1.77 and 2.2 barrels. mine has the two power stages too,
I saw one of the blue R10s the other day and have to say it looks better in person though personally I'd go for the walnut or black pepper one.
Great vid again, i think your right with bsa quality control i spent £750 on the latest r10 doing 9.10ft lb variance was shocking and now it wont even hold air, not going to send it back to bsa its going to rat works when i have enough money, keep up the good work thanks again
Hi Chris, I'm sure BSA would want the chance to fix it, why not send them an email? And let us know how you get on for the show.
I have stripped and tuned all of my hw45’s and it’s quite east however you do need a spring compressor.
One of the best pistols ever!
Another great video gents (we love the honest informed opinions), and yes please for reintroducing the Weirauch pistol shoulder stocks. I think we'd need to find a good stock maker to re-create them but price will probably be an issue. I might take this further and get some quotes.
I have several friends at the range @GARC (www.grampian-air-rifle-club.co.uk/) who'd be well up for that. :o)
Cheers. Russ

really would like more feed back on leishy {deposit paid} Keep em coming guys,
We will be talking about the Leishy in about 3 weeks :)
Hot Air look forward to it.
Also when will range be up n ready ?
As soon as it stops raining and the ground drys up. Hoping this month :)

box cartwilly US variants must have different internals on the 44 PCP? The units there are double the power!
I don't know a lot of people on a few forums seem to hate the SE BSA rifles.
I actually like the blue r10 , didn’t think I would, think it would look good with a blues cerakoted hugget shroud and silencer and blue mounts ( but iv been told I’m a weirdo)

It’s about The metal :the gray shadow was my favourite LE
If the Goldstar was available in that colour I would buy it. The Goldstar stock options are a bit meh........
I was nearly bought a hw45 and out of curiosity I had them text it on chronograph it came in at 13 ft pounds .. no they didn’t sell it to me.

Not as far as we know. You will find most manufacturers are concentrating on PCPS nowadays. Better sales, more profit . Shame as I think there is a market for good springers.
I agree, There is a big springer fan base out there that they need to include in their R and D, not quite the same but look what Sterling are doing.

The Griffin is based on the Regal but the gauges are in the wrong place :(

So you could be getting that reading.
Also a lighter .22 would be better like Falcon 👍
RWS Super H Points really do do the business on rats. My old Webley Vulcan loves them!
Heard it was the barrels . Hoping to get the Weihrauch importer on the show soon so I'll ask him directly :)
Any advice for cleaning and maintaining the finish on the exterior of the hw45? I know we're meant to keep oils and silicone away from the alloy but what do we use? A slightly damp cloth or something?

Thanks mate. I noticed you have one of the blender open movies in your playlists. Bloody good taste!
Just found this show....
Have they done the HW45 distance shooting yet...Id be very interested to see how it would do.
We have decided to wait until we get the range built which should be October/ November of this year if all goes to plan.
Even though you sell them. I’ve owned one myself. Is it as good as a bsa scorpion. The scorpion is powerful accurate and they’ve got the best trigger I’ve ever had on any pistol and can shoot rats. I would have a blue stock any day,!
Aren't the barrels interchangeable from 177 to 22.i have a hw 177 later fibre optic and have bought a 22 barrel also.
Yes they are :)
I have a HW 45 for sale, but unsure what to ask for it, it’s in perfect condition.
I just bought a second hand one in mint condition with custom walnut grips and paid £250. But it was immaculate, other than needing a new breach seal which was a £2 part. Still dieselling, so it's not been run in yet.

The black pepper R10 looks fantastic and every walnut I've seen has been wow, that blue is awful.
All down to personal taste. I would pick it over all the other options
Been a while, when’s the next show out?
This would be better with a 300cc rounded end to the bottle. Somebody is missing out on a good business deal. Guns are more attractive with curves.
What do you think of the webley alecto or the gamo compact.
The compact has been about forever. It's a great starter match pistol. The Alecto is a big chunky thing with good power, not really designed for target shooting but really good at longer distances.
Does the newer hw45 still have odd size scope rail?
13mm yes, all HW pistol uses 13mm. Sportsmatch makes the best mounts for them.
Robert Underdunk Terwilliger thank you
The hw45 in 22 will do pigeons no bother. Great for barn clearing
Does anybody have a HW45 shoulder stock for sale?
Waffen Schlotmann has a special version of the HW45 with a Weaver rail, at the place Tony points too. www.waffen-schlottmann.de/1160075-45RD_HW-45-Trophy-RTU-Kaliber-4-5mm-mit-Leuchtpunktvisier.htm
Interesting Robert, it's so obvious I'm surprised Weihrauch haven't incorporated it
I agree, the balance of the gun is imo ruined when you put a red dot or scope on the dove tail rails up front. A rear Weaver is a much better place for a small red dot!
I don't suppose they sell the top cocking arm with the weaver rail separately?
Get a Webley Alecto!
I notice that short dude always got his lips poked out if it ain't a daystate. Every damn time they do a review lmao
It needs a carbon fibre bottle.
Not commercially available in that size
Do they do one in pink for the wife..
Don't tempt them... 😊
1995 was 23 years ago , only saying .
1985 sir. I checked the video and maybe you just heard me wrong :)
Hot air indeed. This bloke loves the sound of his own voice doesn't he? What was the point of asking the other guy along? He couldn't get a word in edgeways.
Man 5.5 ftlb? Jesus, the Americans would be laughing. Their HW44 is about 12ftlb out of the box. Presume the 45 is similar :(
oh get a backpack put some food and water and ammo for the pistol and go for a walk out in the open some of the best times I have had is walking around with my P1 and shooting what ever (junk) and laughing
Хозяин купит винтовку и сам будет знать трепачейи лжецов.
All that praise for the HW45 and not a mention of the elephant in the room, it's as ugly as sin.
Apart from it isn't remotely ugly , most people think its a great looking pistol.
