    When I can relate soooo hard that I feel the pain of your foil slipping on your 3rd highlight... I was watching and hoping you got it back up to the root and I realized I was making a face and all tensed up like I was watching a horror movie, lol. You're amazing. And a perfectionist I can tell 💛🖤💛🖤

    I'm still learning to do hair and I'm really impressed how you did your own hair and in just a couple of hours. I wish to have your skills in time! And btw I think you do really good, not every one is going to like you or your content, but as long as you enjoy the time making your videos that should be rewarding to you and the people who likes em. I really enjoy learning from your videos and knowing how to formulate correctly because for me is still a little hard to get the result I have in my mind and the final outcome. Its hard to really get the exact results. Thanks you for sharing your content and knowledge. Hugs! Akira.

    I do my own foils( hairstylist). The crown is always the toughest because its so hard to see that area in the mirror. But I always get it in the end. Sometimes I have 1 or 2 to fix and that slways bums me out because of the time issue. But doing it myself I get the color exactly how I want it so its all good! A good frame of mind before I begin is what its all about! I've learned never do hair tired! Great job yours🥰

    Don't be sad, your video (although long) is helpful in that it shows how your thought process and how you decide what to do with issues in bleaching one's own hair. I watched this video several times and attempted my 2nd bleach hair at home, and it was much more successful than my first attempt. This will help me looking decent until my next highlights appointment with a professional. Thank you so much for sharing and posting. • @juliettedonohue7069
    @juliettedonohue7069 Před 3 lety +3

    thank you very much for the video! DIY highlights is for the brave! that was fast!
    I usually don't do the whole head in one session : I do face frame separately from the rest and do it more often. I use Vario Super Plus rather than Blondme as I have bad experience with bleeders (but I will try your trick one of these days), so I keep the bleach not too runny to try and avoid them; I find that doing the crown right is tricky; last time I did a diagonal placement around the middle part, and when I got in the back, the foils were almost vertical, which was not bad actually, after a root tap. I love the 7.4 too, but now I mix it with 7.57 to have a more coppery hue on roots and lowlights; have you tried 7.4 on roots with the 9.5-49 toner on the lengths & ends? I tried it and found it really pretty.
    I like doing some sort of root smudge to blend greys and any demarcation line from the highlights, but how would you keep the blonde bright when rincing?

    • @hairbykristijennings6648
      @hairbykristijennings6648  Před 3 lety

      I haven't tried that but it sounds pretty! I want to now, I will keep that in mind, thank you!
      I feel like leaving the hair around the hairline and ends for very last few minutes helps keep it bright. It's so porous, it can really grab. I usually don't have problem with it while rinsing, maybe using cooler water.... just explain to clients first.

    I love watching your video's. I have trouble with color and toners, I have no clue what to use, that's why I'm getting my hair done by a stylist. I did bleach the bottom of my hair once, and I tried to color it a light blue, and it turned green, and I got most of it white, so I don't understand what happened, that's why I'll never do it again. I know using box dye is bad, but I've been using it since I started getting gray hair, about twenty years ago, and this will be the first time I'm getting my hair done by a professional, I want a balayage, dark on top, and light all the way down the hair, I want the tips white, if they can do it without my hair falling out. LOL.

    You make a lot of sense. Thank you for this. Also I was worried about processing times for different sections as I’m sooo slow. So does rubbing the bleach off each foil actually stop it from processing ? Or does only a proper shampoo rinse do that? Thanks 🙏

    Damn where were you before I burnt my hair off in 2020! I had all 10 levels in my hair and some on the same sections lmao 😂 I’m black level 1 a with some grey now. Thinking of using your technique thx for the vid! I use Schwarzkopf which I do use 20 vol in front and 40 or 30 for the rest and it still takes a minute. Like 100’s of min. Yours hopefully won’t take my blood,sweat and hair this time. It’s one length, virgin slightpast shoulders and I had waist length before I knew how good that shit was and you shouldn’t bleach 5 times in a year over blonde to add to the fun for shits and giggles. Thank god I have the time to pull myself together!

    I've watched this so many times, I love it! I have tried to do my hair a few times and I always have issues with the foil slipping around. I usually just use regular kitchen aluminum foil. Would I have a better time if I purchased actual hair foils? Or I saw someone use some sort of sticky mesh the other day and so I was thinking that may help. Thoughts? Love you and your videos!!!

    • @LitlPixi
      @LitlPixi Před 2 lety

      I bought fancy thick Framar foils and they probably slipped worse than when I used heavy duty aluminum kitchen foil this time. I think what really made the difference is 1. I really made sure my hair was oily & dirty and they stuck to it better cause of the grit. 2. TENSION! I made sure the foil was as snug as could be to the root and really held the hair down tight against it. 3. Saturation. The more thick goopy bleach I applied the better it stuck.

    I use the Blonde me bleach - you turned me unto it - LOVE IT!! Thank you💖 I do my own high lights and I cut a piece of card broad out, then I place the foil on the broad fold it over at the top, then I swipe a small amount of bleach on the foil to hold my hair down while I'm placing the bleach. ( it's real elementary but it works...lol )

    I tried this one time. My arms was so sore lol and I only had done one side lol. When I got to my crown I didn’t realize I missed the foil and tapped my root 😂 I needed up w a stripe above my highlight and then my original highlight 😂 I won’t try again. Jk I might one day but only the hair line for brightness in the front lol

    Did you back comb and bleach all the front pieces that were left out on your forehead? Also on the back I have watched people pull the piece forward on top to bleach. Have you tried that?

    • @hairbykristijennings6648
      @hairbykristijennings6648  Před 8 měsíci +1

      I normally don’t back comb right on my hairline. I think I have other videos foiling pulling it forward how you mention. This video I was just trying to hurry and do something fast lol

    Hey 👋☺️ just had a question, so since your hair line is the most fragile hair on your head, why do you start there first??

    • @hairbykristijennings6648

      Because I still use a weaker bleach, 20 isn’t too strong and I’ll pull foils if I need to. But I’ve never had problems

    Is there a bleach and developer you would recommend for those of us who want to touch up their highlights at home who don’t have access to professional grade products? I know amazon offers blonde me but after hearing about product diversion from you I’m very apprehensive😭❤️

    • @hairbykristijennings6648

      Your correct, I'd be careful to order online. Honestly, I don't really know anything about Sally's beauty supply. Id ask or research what's a gentle bleach to use. KEEP IN MIND, employees there aren't licensed and are hired off the street, do not ask for advice. They once told someone to TONE with 40 vol 😱😱🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
      Go no higher than 20 vol developer, don't attempt anything life changing. Start with a few foils to see how you feel about doing it. Start minimal...... less chance to mess up.
