How to make a Difficult puzzle to solve

As a child, my father gave me this puzzle to solve, but I never really managed. Recently, going through my fathers stuff I re-discovered it and thought to give it a try as an adult. It did not go so well, I am still trying.
In this week's video I show you the puzzle and also show you a simple way to make your own "Baguenaudier " puzzle.
Baguenaudier (pronounced [baɡnodje]; French for "time-waster"),[1] also known as the Chinese rings, Cardan's suspension, Cardano's rings, or five pillars puzzle, is a disentanglement puzzle featuring a loop which must be disentangled from a sequence of rings on interlinked pillars. The loop can be either string or a rigid structure.
It is thought to have been invented originally in China. The origins are obscure. The American ethnographer Stewart Culin related a tradition attributing the puzzle's invention to the 2nd/3rd century Chinese general Zhuge Liang. It was used by French peasants as a locking mechanism.

My father gave me a 5 ring version of this puzzle when I was a child, it took me many hours of trying before I managed to solve it. I don't know what happened to the puzzle so I recently made my own from memory and have had great fun with my grandchildren watching them try to solve it, which none of them have mastered yet. I might post a video up to show the easy way to solve it...
