- Hey ya'll. I wanted to document our road trip/ camping experience + share some of the DIYS and hacks I tried out before the trip..Hope you enjoy =) Full VLOG here: bit.ly/2f0Nmgj
DIY Cleansing Wipes:
1 1/2 cups warm water
1 tbsp. body wash
20 drops essential oil
Bug Repellent Lotion Bars:
1 tbsp. beeswax
4 tbsps. Shea butter or mix of solid butters
2 tbsps. Coconut oil
10 drops Jojoba ( or avocado)
10 drops Citronella Oil
5 drops peppermint essential oil
5 drops lemon essential oil
20 drops lemongrass essential oil
Qunioa Salad In A Mason Jar:
1 1/2 cups cooked quinoa
6-10 white mushrooms, sliced
1 red pepper, chopped
1 medium zucchini, chopped
2 Roma tomatoes, chopped
1/4 cup olive oil
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 teaspoon dill
Noodles In A Mason Jar:
an approximately 16 oz glass jar
Rice noodle sticks
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon lime juice
1/4th of a stock cube
1/8th teaspoon garlic powder, optional
1/4th teaspoon grated ginger, optional
½ cup shredded carrot
½ cup shredded cabbage
12 leaves of baby spinach

I roadtripped solo from South Dakota back home to Louisiana at the end of the summer of 2016 and I know it's not the same region at all!, but this brought back SO many memories. I've worked in the parks before so anytime I see national parks I essentially start crying tears of joy. (: I'm loving your videos! Just came across them
Awww this makes me so happy! I teach classes at an REI, and one of the most heard comments as to why people don't try camping is that they don't know how. I love that you guys just gathered up some provisions, loaded up the family and off you went!

Rifat Hossain Ha! I agree! I usually just pour dressing in there to swish around and coat salad, then I pour it on a plate or in a bowl to actually eat it. :)

Good tips. For camping, I’d put the salads in zip lock bags with a snack size bag of dressing inside. Mason jars are heavy and non-collapsible. For camping it’s great to have containers that “disappear” when you’re done leaving you more space

For your dressing recipe, try adding a little mustard as a binder of the oil and vinegar. It adds a tangy flavor!!!

THE BEST bug repellant natural spray is vinegar of the 4 thieves. I make it every year 1 month before the spring. Takes 1 month to steep. Been making it for years and my whole family loves it.
