As a figure skating fan, fellow Christian and fellow cancer survivor, I really appreciate this video!!
I can’t skate, but I have loved figure skating ever since 1980. I cheered for you, Scott, when you won gold, I cried for Katia when Sergei died, I loved having you explain skating on tv for many years, I’ve clapped with joy at your back flip on Stars on Ice, and now I’m watching this at 5 am as I wake up again with a headache and have to go see a neurologist next week. Thank you, Scott, for your life, your example, for pointing people to Christ.
A purer heart and a dearer person has not existed. There’s no one like Scott.
I pray for his health to continue to be good.
And pray that his sweet family are all well and happy.
I would rather see Tonya Harding.

Amen! I have a 30 year old son I named after Scott Hamilton. In 2017 my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and died in 2020. A few weeks before my husband died the hospice counselor asked my son how he felt. My son said he wasn’t going to say goodbye because in Christ and our salvation it’s really, “Until I see you again in Heaven.” (And my son is on the spectrum. So to hear him say this, as someone who seldom speaks was mind-blowing.) Scott’s testimony with Tracy is somewhat similar to my husband. My husband and I had gone out for a couple of dates and I asked him where he stood with Jesus. He said he believed there was a higher power but that he didn’t believe in God. I told him that I wanted to share with him that God loves him and offers a wonderful plan for his life, but that I could not get past the first word given how he felt.

I really miss seeing Scott Hamilton. I don't feel like ice Skating is at all as cool and fun as it used to be with skaters like Scott. God bless him. Wow what a story. Thanks for sharing your faith and courage .

Scott is just pure joy and always has been.
I first saw Scott competing at the Lake Placid Olympics in 1980 in which he placed fifth. By the time of the 1984 Olympics in Sarajevo, I adored this man. He is 4 years younger than me. I saw him skate in person 4 times in 1984 in the Ice Capades-twice in LA & twice in Oakland. I gave him flowers twice at the Ice Capades & he is so genuine, a real sweetheart & caring person. Such thrilling experiences for me! I saw him perform in Stars on Ice in So CA maybe 12-15 times. I am thrilled that he knows the Lord & loves the Lord!! I was raised by two excellent parents (now deceased) in a Christian home & have 3 younger siblings, 1 younger sister is deceased. I love you very much, Scott & your family, too!! ❤❤

Just as Scott Hamilton has been strenthened through repetitiously skating the figure eight, it's cutting edges, balance, endurance, etc to prepare him for the perfect skate in his life on earth... so also his faith working through his trials & tribulations is strengthened for perfection & triumphs over death from this temporary life to one 'eternally in Christ'. Ironically, the symbol "8" represents eternity, infinity, forever, without end... & God does reward His children... with a crown of gold ! God bless you, Scott.

Scott, I didn't know you were a Christian, but I'm glad you are! I can see the joy & peace of Christ in your smiling face. W/all these skaters coming out as "gay", you represent the pure side of skating. I've always loved your skating, especially the back flip! I always get nervous when you do that! Look forward to seeing you in Massachusetts/Cape Cod sometime! Would love to meet you! My prayers are w/you & for good health, as well as prayers for your family. Keep your testimony strong! & yes, I'll pray for Tonya Harding. She was a good skater too. If she repents, maybe the international skating committee will let her skate in competitions again.

The agency could have gotten health history. I was also adopted as a baby and couldn't keep my food down. I think adoption is traumatic even for a 6 week old.
I also was adopted at birth. I, however, call my adoption the BEST GIFT THAT GOD EVER GAVE ME. I know absolutely nothing about my birth mother and father except that I would love to meet them to say THANK YOU!
BTW- I love Scott- I went to college at Bowling Green State University. He would come and skate there before he made it big- he’s from Bowling Green Ohio, He actually spoke at my college graduation! I think that I fell in love with him when I first saw him. (early 80’s)

I’ve known Scott thru friends as professional skaters and … this is a Very New Story I’ve not known concerning Scott’s complete journey … I am a Christian … or at least have always wanted to be a “complete Christian” … until I just got run over with the Holy Spirit just now …

To have seen him skate in the seventies at the Broadmore World Arena, you never would have believed that he started out this way as a young baby. May God bless you with good health for many, many years. I actually got to know you at the Broadmoor and skated on the ice with you.
