Agree!! Gymnastics has also seemed to lose the art - it’s just powerhouses doing as many flips in a row as they can. It doesn’t have the softness and is boring to watch.
I’m watching the 2022 Olympics, but this routine is something from my past that I will NEVER forget! I didn’t realize he was the first in history to land the quad! Soooo… Amazing!! Kurt was AMAZING!
Kurt Browning was one of the best for his time. World Champion several times yet never made the medal podium at two Olympics. It didn’t hurt his popularity one bit. He’s still loved by his fans and Brick House will always be a top performance.
Even as a kid I thought this was cheesy but now I can appreciate how well he interprets the music. He’s not just shaking it lol he’s doing a full performance. You can tell he’s really having fun.
mine too.. always makes me smile! I've seen him once in person. i loved him right from the start of his career but this is my favorite routine. It is Classic!
I've always felt that he was underappreciated on a world level and skated in the shadow of Scott Hamilton. Four-time Canadian and four-time World champ he represented Canada three times in the Olympics, but somehow an Olympic medal always eluded him. He's always been a personal favorite, as has SH.
An amazing skating artist! His flawless moves and techniques are always on point and he never misses a beat. A true and deserving champion and a fellow Albertan. So proud of the person he is and the true legend he has left behind. Kudos to you, Kurt Browning!
That's what they call "the x factor". Kurt had the audience in his hands as soon as he stepped on the ice. This is my favourite routine of his. Go Kurt ❤
Kurt was the whole package - he was pure entertainment with top notch skating chops. Scotty was wonderful but he didn't have quite the performance range that Kurt possessed in my opinion.
This is what Kurt Browning is known for and remembered for. He was perfect!!! 10's across the boards I believe!!! His skating got alot better after he married his wife. I think being a ballet dancer it challenged him to up his game!!!
They were definitely cool but there were as many gay skaters then as there are now. Men dancing wasn’t seen as masculine and male figure skaters were bullied and attacked from little boys to adults. Put your homophobia in your back pocket and sit on it.
hey kurt, thank you for being my sunshine, thank you for always making me smile and laugh. youve been my medicine and there has been so many times where i dont feel like laughing or smiling because of stress or anxiety, and i turn you on, i try not to smile but in less than two seconds you have me laughin, and smilling. thank you for the way you continue to touch and impact my life. alot has happened since i last spoke with you. im a college student and it's been a dogfight and still have more dogfights, im still battling medical issues, but am holding up. im now serving on a new servant team at church and loving it. so thank you again for being that ray of golden sunshine on my darkest days. i feel like with you i have a real friend who i kow will be there to lift my spirits. love you k.b. hugs
Way back in the dark ages when I actually enjoyed watching skating. When it was more about entertainment instead of how many quintuple jumps within 3 seconds.
I'm only seeing an interview with him now, it popped up - where he's going on retirement. Of course now I've looked it up to see him in action -- WOW there are no words - amazing. He's still darn good looking at this age.
Love it when they actually do their own choreography, it makes it seem they are more into and having lots of fun and really entertaining for the audience (me being the audience) choreographed by the artist shows more freedom of expression in art performances. Less conformity and should be enjoyed for not wanting the be like the others conforming or copy catting.
He did, but this is after he left amateur competition and turned pro. He continued to dance on ice until his recent retirement, and always seemed to be as comfortable on skates as the finest principal dancer on a floor.
This is when skaters actually Skated not just did jumps love him and Scot
He is doing exactly what you describe.😃 Weird. He is not like the classic skaters. So embarrassing, I cant watch.
Agree!! Gymnastics has also seemed to lose the art - it’s just powerhouses doing as many flips in a row as they can. It doesn’t have the softness and is boring to watch.
Me as well my favorites and today we have Jason. My favorite years.
Yes, true!
Yes, true. They were amazing!
This is when skating was worth watching...and Kurt was awesome and so entertaining! 👏
Exactly.
The 80s-90s will never be topped in the sport of ice skating.
I’m watching the 2022 Olympics, but this routine is something from my past that I will NEVER forget! I didn’t realize he was the first in history to land the quad! Soooo… Amazing!! Kurt was AMAZING!
It takes incredible work, strength and stamina to make it appear so effortless. I watched this live in 1996, still remember and glad to see it again.
Kurt Browning was one of the best for his time. World Champion several times yet never made the medal podium at two Olympics. It didn’t hurt his popularity one bit. He’s still loved by his fans and Brick House will always be a top performance.
This is another one for the ages. Never seen it before, first time in 2023. Amazing!
He is surreal, it's incredible!
Kurt Browning and Scott Hamilton are the best ever.
What a great performer! A worthy successor to Scott Hamilton. Choreographers must have loved working with him.
Even as a kid I thought this was cheesy but now I can appreciate how well he interprets the music. He’s not just shaking it lol he’s doing a full performance. You can tell he’s really having fun.
My fave skater of ALL time. Got to see him in person twice. This is the routine that made me fall in love with him.
mine too.. always makes me smile! I've seen him once in person. i loved him right from the start of his career but this is my favorite routine. It is Classic!
never ever get tired of watching him

Never gets old!

Never get tired of watching him!!!
That's what they call "the x factor". Kurt had the audience in his hands as soon as he stepped on the ice. This is my favourite routine of his. Go Kurt ❤
Kurt Browning and Scott Hamilton - the two best ever!
Kurt and Scott Hamilton were the 2 big figure skaters when I first fell in love with the sport, but I always thought Kurt had that extra spark
Totally agree
Kurt was the whole package - he was pure entertainment with top notch skating chops. Scotty was wonderful but he didn't have quite the performance range that Kurt possessed in my opinion.
watched this so many times and gives me chills to watch his perfection. Awesome skater.
Favorite male skater ever and favorite routine of his. He has what no skater today has-natural talent and showmanship.
Elladje Baldé. Look him up.
Phenomenal!!!! All that done on ice no less!!! Love this guy!!!
I smiled all the way through
I've no idea how this showed up on my list but am glad it did. 🕺 ❤
This is what Kurt Browning is known for and remembered for. He was perfect!!! 10's across the boards I believe!!! His skating got alot better after he married his wife. I think being a ballet dancer it challenged him to up his game!!!
Challenged him yes, and also encouraged him to try things he hadn't done. He was fantastic before, but she definitely helped him.
My all time favorite skate by him, anyone! Love him!!!❤🎉
With so much talent, so much love of the sport, and so adored by the fans it is impossible to believe he never meddled. He so deserved several golds.
Met him in seattle, watched closeup . What a great skater but a great entertainer too! When male skaters were manly and cool!
They were definitely cool but there were as many gay skaters then as there are now. Men dancing wasn’t seen as masculine and male figure skaters were bullied and attacked from little boys to adults. Put your homophobia in your back pocket and sit on it.
from the first time I watched this in 96, this song was his forever. he will forever be in the era of the best.
Just found this on YT. Saw him do this routine on TV and in person. We still talk about his performance. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’ve never seen anything like this !! Magnificent
Absolutely fantastic skater/performer! Has been my favorite for a long time.
Over all the years I've been watching skating Mr Browning has been one of my very favorites. So very well done! A joy to watch.

The best there is, ever was or ever will or ever could be. The master.
My favorite skater and favorite routine!
BRAVO, Kurt...You are a MASTER!!!!
Purely awesome Canuck!!!
Wow, amazing. I have never seen anything like this.
I don't think I've ever seen a more entertaining performance on ice. His dancing was as good as his skating. Bravo!
I remember this performance. Amazing
Perfection on ice!
I love this. So wonderful!
My favorite skating performance by any one ever....fabulous

This makes me happy
Perfection! Love him!
Way back in the dark ages when I actually enjoyed watching skating. When it was more about entertainment instead of how many quintuple jumps within 3 seconds.
Funky and flawless‼️
best of all love music and dance.
He and Scotty Hamilton were my favorite and so sweet to see this clip from some of my fondest moments seeing one of the greatest talents on ice. ❤
What a treat!
Never could skate on ice! Let alone boogie and dance on it! Great job! Kurt!
Love him , the best ever ❤❤❤
I'm only seeing an interview with him now, it popped up - where he's going on retirement. Of course now I've looked it up to see him in action -- WOW there are no words - amazing. He's still darn good looking at this age.
Kurt was always a joy to watch
Oh, the memories! Thank you so much for posting.
Those were the days!
When skating was fun.
So great !!!!
Totally the greatest.
Awesome phenomenal.sublime kurt
He was always my favorite, but his skating got so much better after he married. She brought something essential to his life.

Just fabulous!
When he gets up on his toe picks, I die.
This is better than anything recent

he is the best artisitc gracefull skater/dancer ever. !! why did he not continue this style ?
He did, but this is after he left amateur competition and turned pro. He continued to dance on ice until his recent retirement, and always seemed to be as comfortable on skates as the finest principal dancer on a floor.
Wonderful to hear Dick Button voice 👌
I love his shirt and pants. I have some just like that.
Congrats kurt.b
Kurt Browning and Alexei yagudin. Masterpieces
🔥 ❤
I’m watching the Nationals which will determine the Olympic Games in Feb 22.
Have yet to see ONE skater to rival this skater. GOAT in my opinion !
Fantastic!
I think I saw a little moon walk in there
He really had the Michael Jackson swagger, didn’t he?
My girls and I were huge fans
Poetry in motion❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
KURT 🤘🏼
It would be nice if you didn't end the video before the scores and the skaters' reaction to the scores.
SSSMMMMOOOOTH.
The pants....
Hey Kurt. Love this program. I love the leather pants. I have a leather skirt, we should do a shoot together.
Part of me was hoping it was Rob Zombie's cover of Brick House 🤭
