Is This the King of Cutters?

- It's my favorite time of year again, when I can do something silly, unnecessary, and dare I say, just plain stupid, all for the sake of edutainment. This video was inspired by a former employer who told me he had a dream that I was machining everything with a Woodruff key cutter. It's always refreshing when someone's subconscious mind thinks you're a moron.

Appreciate the shout out Stuart! Been working on scheduling a GI specialist for the “problem at hand” or rather problem out the rear. 😂
Probably good that you're seeing a specialist. I've met some flatulent people in my years upon this rock and you, good sir, take the cake...and crap it out right into your britches. And the STENCH! Never has such a smell laid waste to my nose hairs! The air biscuits you're baking up have a funk like no other. Do I detect a hint of rotting skunk with notes of unholy brimstone and the piquant aroma of a tire fire?
Well done Stewart, as always, You have a special skill for teaching that is greatly appreciated, and of course a good since of humor. Keep the videos coming.
To plunge cut with a woodruff cutter is to tilt the head. The benefit is an oblique hole, like the woodworking omega tool the domino, the gained wobbliness enhances fitment. A few taps with a lead hammer, good enough, like in the "new woodworking " just fill it with epoxy.
Starting a new trend I see, Can a woodruff cutter now be thought of as the new adjustable wrench for milling?
There was a guy on the turbo mopar forums who had a parts business specializing in old chrysler stuff and would put his super rare vehicles and parts up for sale each year for crazy low prices. There were a few times when guys got a little mad about it, but I always laughed.
That was a chuckle It gave me a new respect for my old key way cutters..
They ARE the king of cutters after all!
Copper for squaring up... you are moving up in the world😀
I happened to have some left over from when I upgraded the electrical panel in my shop.
Great video,Stuart.Thank you.
Every time I work on the milling machine I feel like something is missing. But what?
And now, with the help of your video, figured it out. I don't have a Woodruff key cutter...
Want me to send you one?
@@StuartdeHaroThanks but no need. I never needed one. And the day I do, I will buy one :)
@@Rustinox Surely the Woodruff cutter is only more powerful on the shaper?
Dont put yourself down, you are a complete... no, wait, that would be rude to say what i was thinking.😂😂😂
@ 0:19 Not that guy? Dude, your a machinist. We're all that guy.
hilarious, thanks for posting this "decadent" video
@ 4:35 I do that step with the woodruff cutter too.
😂
Please make a video how to cut CAM on a lathe machine.
What is this, the Inheritance Machine Shop channel 😀
Scatology...?..😮😮
Try to said that to a greek guy, he will laugh for a month...😂😂😂
April first?
Yup
something tells me you were serious about how you squared up that block... so sad.
I did indeed make everything with the Woodruff key cutter.
@@StuartdeHaro it's the way you are flipping and cutting is my point
@@yelims20 What is wrong with that exactly?
@@StuartdeHaro there is a specific method of flipping and rolling and when to knock the part down.
@@yelims20.... go on... 😏
