    For one, the D.O.C was an outsider from jump with him being from Dallas, Texas. Hell, the D.O.C would have made it big regardless. He would have made it signing with J.Prince's Rap-A-Lot Records in Houston, Texas being apart of the Geto Boys.
    Also, the D.O.C was protected, by Eazy E at Ruthless Records, as an artist and asset to the record label. At Death Row, Suge Knight seen the D.O.C as expendable.

      PAC and Michel’le might have played a part but that was later towards the end because Dr Dre already wanted to leave Death Row before Michel’le was messing with Suge (which allegedly started in 1995) and before PAC joined Death Row (Pac joined in late 1995). Dre already had thoughts on leaving Death Row since 1994 (snoops murder trial). The main issue why Dre left Death Row was because of the hostile environment (Suge Knights ego and that I can’t leave the hood reckless behavior alone)

    Suge had a multi million (or billion by todays standards) record label with some of the best talent in the world and pissed it all away (no pun intended). I respect the fact that Suge had the industry on notice but you can’t have a hostile work environment for the people who literally are the reason why u getting paid bro lmao.     Death row such a cool label design, it could of been the greatest label ever if they left the gansta shit in the streets, they should of used theyre power to get people off the streets, but on the other hand it’s now become this iconic moment in time where only a certain few experienced those moments in time at that label

    I think that's a perfect comparison between Ruthless and Death Row. The environment on Ruthless was pretty chill, because Eazy didn't wanted to bring any kind of street shit to the workplace. He was adamant about that. That's what Cold187 told. That's coming from somebody who survived the streets. Suge on the other hand was in College playing football. They wanted so badly to live that kind of fantasy. It makes sense why Dre left.
