Yeah Paul Giamatti did an excellent job at portraying that lying piece of shit. I think they all did very well in their roles. I definitely wasn't expecting it to be as great of a movie as it was regardless of how interesting the story actually is or how much of a fan of them I was/am since I was a kid. In a time where you have to be skeptical about how most movies and projects are going to turn out because so much of it is shit, I was very glad that they took the effort to make the movie right and I definitely think it deserved the Oscar it was nominated for.

ERIC EPPS Without this old dude, we wouldn't know about Cube, Dre, or E. The movie was great but it was Ice Cube's version of the story, no one else's, and should not be taken as the only truth. According to the movie, Cube was the smartest, the one with talent, the one who knew not to sign a contract... but smashed up an office with a bat to get royalties he thought he was owed, which (in the movie) was a brilliant move. Reality was more than slightly different.

Guns N Roses went through the same shit, Axel Rose ended up taking the lions share of the income and bought the naming rights. Prince had a shittier deal because Prince wrote his lyrics, played guitar and produced his own shit.
Yeah, 95% of artists and bands today have Shitty deals... the only people that are getting Great Deals are artists that write their own music and can do live shows...
and own their own labels or are signed to a Indie Label.

I know it has to do with beef and all that caused N.W.A. to split, but when you really think about it, Dre and Cube felt they could get more alone, so they did. Can't blame these dudes for wanting to get more. Sure, Dre had to deal with suge for a while but he eventually found success, Cube branched out of music and into films, point is, these guys had different passions to pursue to do more. @beatfanatic9438 Před 8 lety +3

We studied this case in school when I studied music business and film. What NWA actually claimed Jerry stole was actually money they owed. They were spending money before they even earned it. For example. If I gave you a two million dollar budget to create an album as advance, i expect you to pay back that 2 million dollars after the sales of the album has passed - to recuperate what i had lost in investing on the production of your album. Now - most rappers have a tendency to touch that advance money / album budget and usually start blurring the lines between an advance - and revenue. Now the revenue is actually what the rappers can take home and START spending. So when they did the math of their album sales and thought they were getting less than what they were supposed to they started thinking Jerry stole that amount from them - when in reality the amount that was taken from them was actually the amount given to them to MAKE the album PLUS other expenses like (CHAINS, LAMBORGHINIS, ESCORTS, DRUGS, CLOTHES, ETC.) Just thought I'd let some kids know this since I see a lot of youth entering the entertainment business and it's easy to get jerked if you don't know how it works.
