  • Attorney and former President of Solar Records Virgil Roberts discusses the rise and fall of Death Row Records in the early to late 90's. He discusses the falling out between Dr. Dre and Suge Knight, revealing why Dre left to go start Aftermath Records. Roberts also talks about the legal troubles that virtually bankrupted Death Row and how Tupac took death row to the next level. Watch above.

MrWARBUCKS24 a lot of people go off what Pac said and believe Dre works slow but Dre wasn't feeling deathrow by the time Pac got there. Dre stopped coming around because he didn't like the environment and the fact that Suge was starting to sign artists which was supposed to be Dre"s job. Virgil Roberts just told you that Dre had left Dr in his mind long before he actually left.

He doesn't explain the contract that Kenner had signed by Tupac to release 3 albums. Kenner was managing Death Row but he states in this video that Death Row technically didnt own Tupacs records because interscope did. So what happened with that contract and did this effect relationships Kenner had with Tupac? I say this because some people say it was Kenner that had Tupac killed. If he didnt get his money from Tupac not living up to the contract, I could see why that would have left a bad taste in Kenners mouth since he never got paid. Correct me if im wrong.

after all these pac interviews this year its starting to make me laugh almost. they make him out to be like billy the kid almost like none of us were alive when he was lol. hes one of my fav rappers but this is starting to become out of control like he was the only person in the 90s with a platinum record or something when he was just a regular dude back then. each year he becomes more popular then jesus lol

Tupac was ahead of the class then as he is now. Much of what he did behind the scenes in his activism was not brought to the public enough because the media wanted to portray him in a certain light. It wasn't until after his departure, that all of the stories and videos of who he really was began to surface.

That's your opinion but it doesn't change the work he personally did in his community and all of the people who attest to that. At least he did something for his community, more that most of the rest can say.
