Making a Tele pickguard out of the bottom panel of an old drawer

Here’s a video showing the full process of making a Tele pickguard out of an old drawer. Bottom panels of drawers are often thin plywood with a decorative veneerand are perfect for making pickguards. In this case the veneer was oak. The guitar that this pickguard was made for is pictured at the end of this video. It was made from a desk and a door that came from the client’s childhood home.

Now I’ve gotta make a wooden pick guard not sure why I’ve never seen that or considered it. Looks great. I’d feel more comfortable wood burning on the scratch guard than the body too.
