  • Will I hit 45MPG on my trip back home??? Things to note: I put 93 octane in my tank, and most importantly, I was driving from the Seacoast to the White Mountains.
    Hopefully you guys enjoy the video!

    Hi Pete! It’d be great for a video If you do a test useing real numbers, I mean, taking the number of galons in the fuel station at the time of refueling and the miles you achive with that. I say so cause the dashboard not always shows real numbers when the car is tuned. I don’t know why is that but los of people say the same, once you tune the car you cannot totally trust the car data.
    My advice, fuel it up to the max and set the counter to zero. Go for a ride and refuel it again to the max. Take the miles and galons you took and make the count. It’s what I do. That should be totally precise 👌
    Anyways that’s a really low of fuel consumption for a stage II. Congrats! 👍

      I’ll be doing this the next time I take it for a long zip! Thanks for the comment Álvaro!

    Here's the big kicker, especially that you're basing this information off of the car's dash trip computer: Did you change the fuel consumption from 100% to 115%? I made that change to mine when I went to APR stage 2, and it is MUCH more inline with what my actual fuel usage is.

    • @NewEnglandPete
      @NewEnglandPete  Před 5 lety

      yeah i understand that. thanks for the information Trevor! 🙏🏻👍🏻

      What does that change do ? Does it make it read that is actually getting less per gallon ?

      Appreciate it! Full throttle for stage 2 is wayyyy quicker than stock.

    Hi pete.I would like to see more content like this with you golf 7.5 R and compare the difference between the R and the gti

    Cruise control works for me , it all depends on speed you set it at and the slopes of the road , I have stage 1 apr mk7 gti , best mpg I get is 35mpg on the freeway setting it at 70mph , and up to 38mpg in the street setting it at 40mph

    Pete, how has the TUNE affected your CAR? Any engine problems? There a was video posted by humble mechanic where a stage 1 MK7 blew a cylinder. Of course, the comments section was lit! You should watch the video and chime in, especially as someone with a tuned car.

    • @NewEnglandPete
      @NewEnglandPete  Před 5 lety

      I did actually see that video. I’m surprised my car has not grenaded tbh. But keep mind, i’m only running stage 2, which in all honest is the same as what you would get from the STOCK Golf R. However, without proper maintenance, engines can have problems. I keep up to date with all of my intervals, including DSG services!

      Its also very hard to get honest knowledge of how hard home boy was rrrrripping in his gti to get that to happen.
      You never know who redlines every gear everyday all the time. Very well could have been agitated by nutso driving. Could also have been a granny driver.
      Lots o speculation.🤷‍♂️

      Yes! Fender Audio system as standard with SE and Autobahn. And I dont mind lowering, I just dont see the use with it being my daily.

    When people think stick can get better mpg, yes but no because I hit the gas way too much and downshift and hit it 😂

  • @dudemcdudeston7985
    @dudemcdudeston7985 Před 5 lety +1

    Most i got in my 2016 manual was 40-43, about 3 or 4 seperate times.
    All of which I was not trying at all, no neutral coasting, just a 40+ mile drive with very minimal city driving.
    i always get my highest numbers right after an oil change. (Which only makes sense) but now you got me thinkin what the fudge could i get fresh off a oil change and some neutral coasting 🤔🤔🤔

    • @NewEnglandPete
      @NewEnglandPete  Před 5 lety

      @@NewEnglandPete castrol edge is the only one I've used.
      How about you? It'd be interesting to see you try this same drive again fresh off an oil change too to prove my theory.

    Does eco mode actually save gas ? I just got a 2019 gti

    • @NewEnglandPete
      @NewEnglandPete  Před 4 lety

      not sure, I didnt have the car long enough. I assume it would do really well in eco, since eco is more transmission based, where the car will hold gears longer and limit performance. This can overall result in greater MPG numbers.

    • @abram1668
      @abram1668 Před 4 lety +1

      NewEnglandPete okay but I have automatic ? So will it make a difference?

    • @NewEnglandPete
      @NewEnglandPete  Před 4 lety

      AB Yes, this actually impacts DSG’s more since the transmission can control when it shifts and the rate at which it can shift.

      @abram1668 Před 4 lety
