- I give a walkthrough of the process i did and how to add on Surf Gates actuated to the side of your boat for a better surf wave, factory style of install. My Boat is a 07 Malibu Wakesetter VTX

Lenco Fast Actuators used: 102F Fast Movement Actuator -12 Volt | Lenco Marine SKU:15129-001. They have a 4.25" stroke
UPDATE: In this video and on my first install I use the fast actuators so that they extend and retract fast enough to transfer when surfing from the left to right side without even stopping. I found that they are not extending out all the way due to the force of water against them, so I switched over to the standard actuator which has more power then the fast. Lenco 102 Series Standard Actuator - 12v - 4 1/4" Stroke - 15059-001 So if you are not too concerned about doing wake transfers, use the standard actuator
very nice. thanks for the video. I plan to do the same thing on our 10 wake setter
Great video of the install. I have a 2004 Wakesetter 23LSV and will very likely do this same install. I will probably use Polypropylene (white or black) for the trim tabs. Did you add the perfect pass cable? My PP still uses the paddle wheel.
This is awesome, how does it surf now properly weighed down?
I have an '09 mastercraft x15 that I built a custom system for using trim tab actuators like you, but I tig welded up my own centre plate and tabs out of 1/4" aluminum plate. I copied my buddy's stock system he has on his '17 MC x23, so they deploy downwards instead of to the side Malibu style. Afterwards I learned that the Malibu gate style is a lot better for older, lighter boats. The issue I have now is the boat needs way more ballast than my current piggyback system provides, as the tab deploying down offsets some of the existing ballast. I am now thinking of building something like this as well, as we find we still tend to use the suckgate to get the best wave possible on the regular side. My system did make the goofy side surfable, as it wasn't before with just the suckgate (MC and Malibu props are opposite). I'm going to put a video together with it as well. Cheers!
Wow, very nice. I just bought an 09 247 LSV and plan to do this exact setup thanks to you! How much did you pay for everything after it was all complete if you don't mind me asking?
The gates were used so whatever you get your hands on those four. I paid about a hundred bucks for those. Plus paint. Plus the actuators were around $500. And that's my biggest expense, unless you buy the wake logic also.
Hi you did a great job!
What is the part number of the lenco actuators?.
I can’t find one with more than 4.25 ‘’
Stroke?!
That's the stroke I used. 15129-001
Any advice on finding a set of gates? Having trouble finding used.
I'd say go talk to a local service dept in person.
Hey. I’ve got an 09 LSV we just got last year. Im in Bozeman. Looking for a winter side project?? Are you in great falls?
I'd love to help but really dont have the time! 🤙
No worries. I figured but worth asking! Still happy with how everything turned out? Other than standard actuators, any mods you would do second time around? Thanks again for quick reply.
John
@@johnbarnes4230 definitely would do the standard actuators, not the fast, and I still highly recommend the GPS controller still.
Awesome job. Wanna make another set and sell to me?
Just buy a set from malibu or axis and cut them down! That's what I did
