Is this what's called 'baiting'??? I loved this documentary about the QUEEN MOTHER and how it makes clear that the Royal Family shouldn't actually be on the throne...the right family tree (if that's how the whole idea works), was disconnected way back hundreds of years ago. Why do the English still have a Royal Family the people support through taxes, by the way...the Queen can't vote or do much without the permission of her government, so other than supporting charities all over the place; going on 'meet & greets'; opening ceremonies and being a figure head...I don't understand why the people still continue with this farce of a 'royal blood line'...just asking...

I'll never get over the Charles would marry that home wrecker Camilla and put her on a thrown. Charles is weak and needed a mother, and Camilla was his mother with benefits. No good is going to come of them. Harry was paid 100 million for his story and after the Queen died he wanted to retract some of what he said. The publishers told him, that wasn't going to happen. We can only hope we will read what kind of people Charles and Camilla really are. Charles and Camilla agreed that Diana was perfect for him to marry as she was so young and could be easily manipulated. William and Kate are the only hope for the royals.

No wonder Charles felt betrayed.

They was in love before Charles marriage to Diana, but because stupid rules they couldnt be together. As the same as the other members of his family, king and Margaret. Yes,Diana suffered a lot in this marriage and being so young she made some mistakes, but Charles wasnt happy in the marrige too.Nobody says that what they've done to their partners is right, but not their fault either that love is stronger than vows in Cathedral.Life is life. Hence why he broke out from the catholic Church to get his marriage annulled, marry Anne Boleyn, and obtain at last his so desired male-heir, but as you know even Anne Boleyn did not begot him a son, thus he beheaded her and so on so forth.

I think, no one of us here was there with them. I think that the queen mother had old values, which does not tolerate to have many lovers during marriage for women. According old values the wife should sit at home with her children, being all the time nice and kind, while the husband has mistresses. I am not saying that this is right or should be tolerate, but time ago women could find their way to have a lover if they wanted during their marriage, but do not gossip about themselves. But the queen mother had her values do not have lover even if your marriage is not good. The mother, wife should be a heart of her family. Otherwise everybody should educate themselves about mental illnesses Diana had. How hard was this for her and how imaginably terrible for her environment. Being ill is nobody's fault, but fact, a really sad fact. But there is most of the time a cure which Diana did not want. The whole story is sad. Diana at least only one lover, but it is too late. Poor Diana she was totally lost but she want win, which was not possible. Megan is smart, she escaped in time and took Harry and a baby with her. @@mc.8391 - My English grandmother, aunts, and my mother were never fond of the Queen Mum, but many British people loved her. Back then, it was radio and news reels. People got to see and hear her at her best. Those who knew her personally had a very different opinion. Books I’ve read describe her as snobbish, spoiled. I watched a video last evening of the RF being greeted at a formal event. Queen Elizabeth II was being very patient as the Queen Mum walked before her to be greeted. Her Majesty and Prince Philip patiently behind her. You see, that says it all……she was the Queen (consort) with George VI for about 15 years, and liked it….a lot. She was not going to give up that position just because her daughter was now the Queen Regent. As protocol demands, she should have entered and been greeted behind her daughter. She put herself ahead of her daughter the entire time she lived at Buckingham Palace with them, when the staff would refer to the Queen, she automatically assumed they meant her. The staff started to call her the Queen, and Queen Elizabeth II was referred to as Her Majesty to differentiate between the two. Finally, she was relocated to her own residence, to ease the confusion. She always put herself first.

The story of Diana can be summarised in a couple of sentences:
      1) She married too young into an institution she was ill-equipped to cope with, and her husband couldn't deal with her, nor the Royals.
      2) She then make another big mistake of marrying Al Fayed's (an outcast and dubious character in UK) son, and he let a drunken driver from Fayed's Paris Ritz hotel drive her around and he drove at nearly 100mph under a curving underpass bridge at night and she got killed in a car wreck.
There's no conspiracy. It was just a tragic life cut short by bad choices by Diana, and problems that she had during her time as Princess (eating disorder, depression, major stress) and an unsupportive husband. But what do you expect from the Royal's they're not normal people.

This is a very, very kind documentary towards Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon later HRH Duchess of York, HRH Queen Elizabeth and Empress of India...then HRH The Queen Mother. Whew...But really these Royals went through such extraordinary times in the 20thC. Very much the lost Generation full of tumultuous change and innovation.

No, the King was an extremely insecure man due to his terrible upbringing and Elizabeth took advantage of that and was the power behind the throne. Read Lady Colin Campbell’s book on the Queen Mother and you will be astonished to learn so many things. It’s a very well researched and well written book. Elizabeth was extremely controlling, with her daughters as well.
Queen Elizabeth II felt liberated when her mother died. We saw many examples of this.

I remember a strange newspaper story that said Charles walked out to his Land Rover where the crowds were watching. A window opened and Diana stuck her head out and yelled. "Don t you do this. Don't you do this to me." No one knew what she was referring to. Charles looked up and heard her and then drove off. In view of what we now know, I think he was going to see Camilla and Diana never wanted him to go.
