Therein lies a problem, as I understand it there is no requirement for presidents to pass a security clearance check- otherwise Trump's financial exposure through debt to foreign organisations would have rendered him unfit. Aides etc. are supposed to, though I remember there being something in the early days of Trumps term regarding Ivanka & Kushner, but I can't quite remember exactly. Anyway, you are right, there should be a need to pass security clearance before the election, and hopefully there will be movement on that once the documents case is completed.

It’s ok. Many thought that he would be different as he was elected for the most powerful office in the world. But Trump has always been a thug in a suit, based on his history; and holding such power as POTUS made him more corrupt.
I did not vote for Trump but I thought that he would probably leave the hard work of governing to others and show up for the parades. I thought, as a Democrat, my role was to advocate for the policies I support and hope for some compromises. This was the American way, I thought. I was hoping anyway that Trump would push infrastructure and health care as he spoke of. The reality was a nightmare. The worst was watching Republican friends slowly become more vicious while simultaneously increasing “Christian” rhetoric that seemed quite unchristian. I finally had to end a friendship of many years after coming across her many hateful online comments and seeing her insult people online. She changed and I believe she was corrupted. Differences of opinion morphed into a different view of reality and morality. Trump is a cancer on the nation.

Not 'emotionally or morally fit to be president' is a very kind way of saying Trump has the same instincts and intellectual capability of a badly behaved is infant. The same could be said of Trump's followers, because he reflects who they are so closely.
