I wouldsay like it won OsarcS. Jamie Lee Curtis is best known for her 80's movies. Michellle Yeoh was in 1980's star of Hongkong action/kung-fu movies. EEAAO was made in part as an homage to Hongkong action movies using very similar approach to fight scenes (acrobatic choreography, long shots, wire fu and so on).

Everything about this was so wholesome. It wasn't just about Ke Huy Quan, but also about all the child actors from his era who struggled and never made it; from both a figurative sense and unfortunately literal as well for a few. To see one of their own make it and get an Oscar must have been so motivating.
My all time favorite movie!! SO HAPPY FOR HIM AND THEM.

I'm no comedic genius, but how about this for a starter: the joke about women can have the word "kitchen" in it somewhere. I understand that it might take many months - if not years - to couple those two concepts, but, again, I really have faith in you. You've opened up my mind to a whole new world of comedy that, until now, didn't even exist. I will be forever grateful.

It just shows how kind Ke and Brendan are everyone were very emotional when they both won. I normally don't care myself but i wont lie i was over the moon when they both won.

It’s so beautiful that the Goonies family of friends still keep in touch with each other. That’s a beautiful reaction video of Corey watching Ke win his Oscar. That’s also wonderful that one of his Goonies brother, Jeff, is in the audience, and his attorney. I’m glad that the Goonies siblings are all alive & well! Corey’s family is also happy for their family member Ke.
Corey's "family" were actually his "angels". A bunch of young girls who hang off hum. They use him. He uses them. Its all very weird.

What an awesome moment for Ke and well as knowing that the bond and comradery amongst The Goonies still stands to this day!
I got the biggest smile on my face, cause both Ke was acknowledging it as well in terms of his support from his Goonies brothers and sisters and they too were showing theirs.

I love that for most of the movie Richard Donner just stuck them in a room together and let them ad-lib
If you ever hear the story about Spielberg flying all the kids to Donner's house in Hawaii and playing a huge practical joke on him, it's a must.. Even the Fratelli's got in on the joke.. There's a video of it somewhere on the internet..

I haven't seen the movie everywhere everything all at once, and I've never seen Ke acting, but shit he made me cry when he won and made me feel happy for him, especially when he hugged Harrison Ford. He's so cute. Actor or not, one can say that he has a pure and golden soul.

I felt that way too until the original director, Richard Donner, passed away. It’s hard enough to recapture that magic.

I just watched The Goonies again a few days ago, not for any reason other that it seemed like a good thing to do. Then this. Wow. I didn’t even realize Ke was nominated as I really don’t pay any attention to most of these awards things, but after watching his acceptance speech and now his Goonies family supporting him, it really warms my heart and chokes me up.
Ke deserves the win. I love that everyone else in the world thinks he deserves it too

I'm the same exact age as The Goonies and have been a fan my whole life. This will go down in history as one of the best feel good stories in American cinema.

I haven't watched the Oscars in a long time because it just seems like a circle jerk contest, but seeing clips from last night of the winners reactions made me feel good that decent people in hollywood are getting recognized for there achievements in a very hard industry.

It took me about half way through the movie before I realized, "That's the kid from the goonies!". To see him win is great. Sure it means a lot to anyone who was a kid when the goonies came out.

When I was a kid all I ever wanted was to have an adventure like the Goonies, how it fed my imagination! I was so sure it was possible, that maybe I could dig up a treasure map in my backyard or something XD

Goonies is still after all these years one of my top 10 favorite movies. I feel so happy for Mr Quan he deserves it and seeing his reaction to being on stage with Harrison Ford I'll admit brought happy tears to my eyes then the nail the in coffin was " Goonies never say die" I was done after that.

Goonies is my #1 movie all time, the perfect adventure when we were kids, just getting all sorts of nonsense. Quan was my fav I was crying cheering him when he won!

I'm so ready for another Goonies movie! Would be great to see them altogether again! And see how their children, Junior Goonies, would handle a similar adventure! Would today's technology help or hinder? Would it determine that all this technology cannot replace the human emotions, ie, friendship, empathy, compassion, etc.? Anyway, we can dream it! When I first saw him, I kept racking my brain about what else he was in. I knew Big Trouble in Little China and Indiana Jones, and then when he mentioned Goonies, it all came back. One of my fave films from the 80s. lol, He deserved that win.
He didn't play a role in Big Trouble in Little China or have any affiliation with the film. He did however play a part in Encino Man which starred Brendan Fraser who won the Best Actor Oscar.
