Bro! Going nollie to fakie or fakie to switch with flip tricks on transition is so weird feeling. Killer to see someone who is already really damn good trying new things.

the trick is not to put too much weight on your front foot and try to remain centered
Incredible. Fakie inward heel was so sick! I do sometimes feel like Zach's style is Chris Cole-ish, so this was a rad concept to watch!

I had a friend 25 years ago who would warm up at the park with several kickflips to fakie on the 5 foot quarter pipe. This is so rugged, especially straight out the gate. I learned the habit because of him. I don’t do them to warm up, but it’s a good trick once you’re already flowing.

Flip tricks can really throw you on Transition but your doing a grand job of landing them all 👌

Honestly if this man learned to keep his arms down hed have one of the best styles ive ever seen. Not to say he doesn't right now his fundamentals are super squared away. Im just a big clean style guy. I used to ride for Alibi snowboards, Northwave, sessions and Arnette had me on flow. I would rather see a super scummy ass bs180 method than like a double cork 12. I used to do these bs3's and stall the rotation out in the middle with a crail. Jussi Oksanen bought a truck from my dad, we live in Reno, Nevada. So my dad tells him how I have 3 posters of him in my house, how hes the only pro snowboarder my dad knows because i was such a big fan. So im literally reaching up this girls shirt to work on her bra at my house and my dad calls me. I always answer when my folks call no matter what. Im like, kinda busy pops whats good? Instead of my dads voice i hear a Norwegian dude say "You down to ride Alpine with me tomorrow?" I cant say i knew the mans voice so i was like, who dis right? "Its Jussi your dad told me you're a fan i wanted to see if you wanna ride at Alpine tomorrow?" I kinda fan boi'd out a little but i got ahold of myself and answered the man. Next morning at 7am im chiefing a blunt with jussi fucking oksanen and micki albini rolling in a badass ford truck on the way to the place i actually had a season pass for. So i did that backside 3 crail i was talking about on this big ass natural hip and both of these burton pros were like "Bro you gotta teach me that" i dont know if they were so nice to me because my dad gave him a really good deal on the truck or they're just good dudes but ill never ever forget that. I taught them my shit, they taught me frontside 7s.

If I may it seems to work for you on transition when you wait for your weight to be fully transferred in to the ramp so you are settled on your board like you would be on flat. The kick motion seems to more natural then. Still my favorite skater.
Yeah the timing can be tricky for sure, the coping plays a big roll too
Honestly fakie tre on transition feels a little weird at first but it’s a fun one and not too bad once you mess with it. I’ve done it a couple times on a mini!
I had a pretty rough time with that one, felt cool to land but it was not easy for me at all
@@ZachDoelling I feel that. If you ever get the chance since you got fakie tre, another fun one you could try is doing fakie bigflip! Something about going fakie to fakie with a trick like that feels odd but it’s kinda satisfying to do at least once or twice!

Question: if you are skating fakie and you do the same turn as regular but backwards to do a fakie backside flip, then why do you call a nollie frontside flip frontside if it's the same rotation as a switch backside flip?
I feel like that technically means he never did a nollie "frontside" kickflip. Obviously, I'm not trying to throw shade, just trying to understand. I am doubly confused because he performed a nollie backside heelflip and didn't call it a frontside even though it's a mirrored action to a switch frontside heel.
Nollie BS is the same as Fakie FS, don’t ask me why, Fakie is just the odd man out, they didn’t put much thought into the naming process
