Gotta love them loyalist dreadnoughts the Anchorite and Rylanor
"the Emperor is not a god."
Anchorite literally banished daemons with holy words!
*“I TOOK A VOW OF PACIFISM, NOT PEST CONTROL”*
shows up, says some funny language, undoes 10000 years of grey knight existence
goes back to proof reading the letico divinantus
ironically this dreadnought succeeded where logar failed, he helped create the cult that made the emperor a god of the imperium in the 41st millennium
Chanting the lectitio divinitatus in battle against the Word Bearers is the definition of "I used the heresy to destroy the heresy"
So you’re telling me a Word Bearer was responsible for the Imperial Cult? Color me shocked!
Is it any wonder that loyalist marines from traitor legions are some of the most loved characters when they are *this* based ?!
A beautiful story. It’s stories like this that made me fall in love with 40k
Dude is the world record holder of Dreadnaught pacifist challenge
Rylanor, anchorite, huron fal.
3 loyalist dreadnought from traitor Legion, that everyone love.
"I REJECT YOU NOW AND ALWAYS"
"There is only one God, and he's the one who sit on the throne of gold"
"We die here, on isstvan 3, and we Deny....your victory...."
Sisters of battle have a very twisted version of a mechanical walker named anchorite (mortifiers but worse)
I would just want to add that the Anchorite wasn’t a dreadnought when he surrendered on Calth. He became a dreadnought after attempting suicide a few times
In the words of Ciaphas cain "... a group of slaughtered heretics always brightens the day."
I personally love stories where an individual takes a vow of peace or refuses to fight for X reason only to decide at the climax of a story to lay down some hate
It was the governor that got them to do that, the governor made a promise to the Anchorite that he would lay down his life to defend him, when he was about to make good on that promise, the Anchorite stepped up to face his former brothers.
A fine example of the preacher who turns out to be a badass
"The Imperial fists died off like flies" typical fist 😅
They forgot to make fortifications.
Actually, sorry to be that guy
But the guy was a normal space marine and tried to kill himself so many times, that he was eventually places in a Dreadnought
Don't know why but I just imagine the Anchorite holding a Chancla and pointing it at his former brothers screaming in incoherent Spanish
Damn loyalist Word Bearers would be powerful
Alas, there doesn't seem to be any.
There's quite a few chapters who *probably* are Traitor Legions Loyalist descendants, but none of them *quite* seem to match up to the WBs in actions or spirit.
Some examples include:
Sons of the Phoenix
Marines Malevolent
Carcharadons
Blood Ravens
On paper, the Templars seem like they could be, but their origin is hard confirmed as Imperial Fists.
I really love the thought that it gives ultramarines working with imperial fists to defend something the one legion my favorite legion
*HEAR THE WORDS OF CHAO-*
[How about your hear of some bitches.]
*Deafening vine boom as all of the Daemons explode.*
I am just picturing the video Rimmy made where he weaponized vine booms in Arma
" I became a pacifist for a reason. Allow me to show you why...."
😂
Pacifism? In this Galaxy? In this millennium? On this Imperial World? Localized entirely within this Dreadnought?
"I'm trying to walk this stupid path of peace, bur you're forcing me to walk the path of pieces..."
- Anchorite, most likely, upon seeing Chaos Marines at his doorstep
Also the Anchorite, on walking over the torn apart bits of the chaos Marines his 'brothers' became because they decided to play stupid games.
For those wondering. This is from the apocalypse novel, which is part of the space marines conquest series.
Man smh... the world of 40K is such a great stage for these types of stories to be told..
This guy should be the primarch of the Word Bearers
I remember this. While imprisoned he prayed for forgiveness the entire time he was locked up and begged to be released to fight for them. And fight he did.... And he died a hero, taking a massive amount of the enemy with him....
I literally had to listen to this 20 times before my brqin put it all together. Thank you 2am hair balls
Why are all loyalist Dreadnoughts from the traitor Legions so fucking badass. First Rylanor and now this absolut unit.
Imagine being a world bearer and seeing a pacifist Anchorite Dreadnought come out
And chanting the holy words their father wrote.
Hang on... did that imperial loyalist dreadnought just use SORCERY?!?
It's called faith you heathen.
No, that was Santic Powers, citizen.
Sorcery is Heresy.
Cato sicarius want his plot armor back.
Man literally brought out the old testimate on his brother's and they went out like matchlights. What a king.
Anchorite: “Chaos stinks I’m leaving”
I literally heard about this guy earlier and didn't know it was this deep. Keep up the good work.
He was interred in the dreadnought by the ecclesiarchy after trying to end his life.
"Wait where'd our demons go-"
The Anchorite is such a freaking CHAD.
I imagine this absolute battle tank just full stomp sprinting in righteous fury, its back mounted exhaust pipes spewing flames and black smoke, all the while its vox blaring out chants of ancient holy litanies and hatred for being forced to break a ten thousand year vow of pacifism
The REAL Word Bearer.
And demons with chaos marines BEAR-LY could hear that WORD.
Surprised that gulliman still let this man have his own protection even though he despises the imperial cult
You left out the best part, he tried to un-alive himself after capture because he carried the guilt of his entire chapter and ended up bringing ab ass beating to the traitors
The book he's in is one of my absolute favorites
Who would have thought So many Mary Sues were in 40k... Entirely in the Imperium no less ..
Dayymnnnnn when words beat the sword!!
Just goes to show, in 40k, if you have the knowlege of things lost and magic, you win.
The few Word Bear…. I mean Imperial Herald that I can respect
imagine you're some dumbass chaos lord and a contemptor starts charging you shouting enuncia at you
This is the kind of story that made me realy fall in love with warhammer. Honor, Duty, Brootherhood and Conviction
what is it with dreadnoughts being so badass
man you really got me using my audible credits to buy these novels
What makes me smile is the fact, that in his mind he never broke his vow of pasificism. He got it twisted in his head that he was teaching some young kids
Hence why he would always call them "boys"
Imperium : We stand on countless planets, with unlimited ressources !
Also imperium it seems : we are outnumbered at every battle.
He was not a Dreadnaught yet, he was entombed on guillimans order after he tried to end himself after the heresy. Still an absolute badass
Man Emperor, imagine if the Word Bearers were still loyalist. We’d have the sheer indomitable physicality of a Space Marine with the insane, death defying feats of faith of the Sisters of Battle.
A vow of pacifism is probably the single most heavy ankle wieght you can give yourself in the 40k universe.
I think that one thing that should be mentioned is that he has been interred this entire time and still remained cognizant. I think that it is likely due to the superior construction of the Contemptor pattern which is supposed to be the “gentlest” dreadnought on the operator.
I want loyalist word bearers. I would love to see them get another chance I just find them so interesting
The current Imperium thay have such a good chance to be a great chapter of actual good priests instead of whatever the ecclesier is Kind of like a salamanders but religious
@@jacobaugustine6249 There's like a million of them but it would be cool to see them as Ultramarine (or actually, dark angels) successors. I honestly think Logar is the Guiliman of the traitors. They are organized even as chaos, their world's were prosperous. If those covenant of fire guys really are Logars sons, I hope they aren't condemned to obscurity like the salamanders.
@enovos3138 I meant like a successor chapter I always felt like Is pertrabo was the guillaman Of the traders he's well organized and efficient
@@jacobaugustine6249 perty Is discipline for sure! I don't know how prosperous his worlds were though. I was always stuck viewing as Dorn's rival, a certain mistake. I just think that they contrast well unlike Logar and Corvus, which feels random.
@enovos3138 In rivalry, sure, I agree with you, but in terms of carrying their team, both did they exact same with their factions
100% of Loyalist, Traitor Legion Dreadnaughts are absolute badasses.
Imagine being a Word Bearer, a committed servant of The Ruinous Powers, and then a Dreadnought uses ancient holy words from your own original homeworld that smites all your Daemon buddies
It takes a strong man to uphold a vow of pacifism in a galaxy that's burning with war at all fronts. And when he finally breaks it, it's like the saying "when good men go to war, even demons run away"
Combat Exorcism by a walking Tomb Tank sums up 40k pretty well I gotta say
I love stories like this
The only Word Bearer I'll respect.
He was a space marine when he surrendered, then when he was imprisoned he was made into a dreadnought
Now I need a story of Loyalist that broke away from Konrad Kurze.
Why the hell are the most badass characters in 40k in dreadnought armor/sarcophagus 💀
Dreadnoughts are the only way they can carry their balls of steel
Wish it was a Leviathan Dreadnought, but i understand why lore-wise that would be a bad idea.
Wait... did he speak ennouncia? That language that bends and binds reality to your words, but has a REALLY high chance to make your teeth, tongue and bottom jaw explode or just kill you or rip your soul asunder
That's so stupid that I conpletely believe someone would add it to 40K lore
Knowledge is power! Guard it well.
What a badass name he has
