I love Jen's voice. She reminds me a lot of Lacey Sturm from Flyleaf.
At one point Jen had to miss tour dates. They got a drummer, and Lacey filled in for vocals. Lacey has been a temporary member of the band.
Agree and disagree. Lacey has a brutal scream and a slightly raspier voice. The effect of clear, crisp, and cutting vocals that are absolutely perfect and beautiful is the same though.

I think this whole album is their signature sound as it relates to their "radio friendly" sound...I do like this whole album for the fact that it executes in showing Skillet's lighter rock sound....but if you really want even heavier I think the album named "Collide" was even better...and I really am still a fan-boy-child for that sound.
Not Gonna Die is the first Skillet song I ever heard as a kid. I fell in love with the band and it led me into a rabbithole of all sorts of awesome artists.

Skillet have a rather unorthodox approach in that the lead singer is the bass player and the drummer is the backing vocalist
You need to watch their live version of The Resistance. John smooches Corey(his wife) on stage....incredible song!!! Their daughter just recently got married....
At first I only heard monster on the radio and years later I met my wife and she loved skillet I went and saw them live with her and I was just blown away with how awesome they were and have been a fan every since just an amazing band period .
We're they lip syncing any of it.
Seems like every live performance I've seen, they lip sync. Cooper usually sounds bad when he's live, but when they break into the high energy chorus, he suddenly becomes oddly good. Looks like he was lip syncing.
