I thought this was absurd when I first watched it... I couldn't have been more wrong, and my cheapy item was a cigarette lighter to double usb charging station. Had just put some new aftermarket wheels on my F150 and only knew that they had sensors in them but just figured they were the wrong ones after several failed attempts to train them. Was going to shell out almost $200 for new sensors and installation soon and just happened upon this video. Although it could be many things as Makuloco says, give this tip a try, it saved me so much just in time alone. Got in my truck and unplugged the usb charger as I joked to my wife what this bafoon on CZcams said could be the problem....waited for the flashing light and information panel to indicate sensor failure as I would see every day.... We were driving down the road laughing and the sensor failure never happened again. Guess I'm the bafoon this time :-) Thank you FordTechMakuloco.

I was running my 2008 Escape today on a 3-hour road trip with a Charger Doctor plugged into a 5v USB voltage regulator I had previously installed. The Charger Doctor is a cheap little device which monitors the regulator output and any current drawn by a device plugged into it. This was the first time I drove the car for any distance with the Charger Doctor attached to the regulator output AND the first time I got the tire pressure monitoring system error. I seriously doubt this is a coincidence. Your video most likely just saved me a lot of troubleshooting. THANKS!

I have been fighting this for 6 months before I found your video. After 20 minutes, I would get a message on the dash saying "TPMS Sensor Fault Error". Let it set for a few hours and again it takes 20 minutes for it to show up again. As best I can remember, this started about the time I installed a different dash cam that used a cigarette light plug for power, same as a cell phone charger. I removed the power source and voila, the problem went away. I can't thank you enough for this tip.

We've got all the lights on in the middle of the highway, and we were very scarred. We didn't know what to do, and there was a long way home. After we got home, but couldn't fix it any way. All specialists recommended us to change all the sensors, which was kind of expensive.

You sir are the man! I've researched countless videos about this subject and have so far not been able to rectify my problem. As soon as you mentioned interferanhce, It felt like I was literally slapped in the head. I am an amateur radio operator ( HAM ) and recently installed a new UHF/VHF radio on my vehicle. Thats when the problem started ( like the police vehicle ). I disconnected the power lead to my radio and the LTPM went off. I thought this was a fluke so, I re connected the power and BAM there it is the LTPM. I have since installed a few ferrite beads on the power lead and the problem solved. The TPMS alarm (in my '09 F150) has been annoying me for years, alarm comes in, goes away seemingly random, pressures all good... And when I take it to the tire store => no alarm, nothing to find or fix.
I watched this video and added the information to my brain, but I didn't take any intentional action.
We just completed a "quick" round trip to and from our other house (1000 mile round trip)....NO TPMS alarms the entire time.. what is different?
We used the same USB cell phone chargers we always have...
We left the (Magellan) GPS in wife's car and didn't take it with us...

+FordTechMakuloco my friend I installed 37 inch tires on. A raptor and used stock wheels , and after than the TPMS illuminates and stays like that for a while , what's the problem , and I went to the dealer did a quick checkup nothing wrong with the tires there are brand new , so he did a 360 check up on the wheels and it was gone after leaving the dealer about 5 mins it returned again what's the reason and what's the solution for this , I think beacuase it's about changing tires to larger diameter

In my 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid I get an erroneous Low tire Pressure warning every time I drive near a certain place (On the Westbound approach to the San Mateo Bridge in the SF Bay Area). I check my pressure but it's always fine. Thank you for this video, now people can stop thinking I'm insane for saying something is going on with this issue.

I have a 15 f150 and almost once a week I get this tire sensor fault alarm. My synch 1 radio jumped from level 6 volume to 30 out of nowhere once last week. My radio also has gone out completely while driving and the ford logo came back on the screen as if I just started the truck up and the radio came back on. All these weird things possibly related to a charger? The Ford dealer checked it for me and said the computer stored a "code from the radio that the computer didn't like" but no details on what it is. Got any insight on this? I've also had the Otis fail to start the truck as in no crank attempt at all. Could be turned key poorly or another electric issue?? Tired of taking to the dealer and getting nowhere.... Amazed u have this knowledge regarding cheap electronic interference yet my cheapo charger is hanging right there in the dash and they haven't said a word about it.

Thanks for this post. Had a 2011 Malibu with this very issue. Person took the aftermarket charging cable with them and TPMS issue would go away. Hopefully, manufacturers find the workaround for this problem because cheap electrical devices and cables are not going away.

hi, i have seen like 3 of your videos trying to fix a Ford escape 2013. we change the sensor of the rigth rear tire for one that was in a F150 because the one in the escape was broken when the tire was changed. first we tougth that it will work just by doing the change but it did not. then we tried programing them runing at 20mph but did not work. then we did all the break 3 times key break 3 times key but we could not make even the first tire to learn, we dont have the tool so we use a magnet and then taking some air off and did not work. do you have any comment or recomendation?

    Hello sir,
I have changed my tire and rims for winter in my mustang and tire pressure monitor is on fault. Is that okay as the new rims might not have that thing which tells the pressure or it is bad for long period of time? Because winter last longer in Canada. Please help me.

I just bought an 09 F150 Fx4 and during test drive I got no warning lights but on drive home it was flashing intermittently. I did plug a phone charger in so I'll remove that and see of it goes away, is there a specific type of charger that you know of that won't interfere? Also is the antenna above the rear view mirror a component of the tpms? Thank you for the tip.

I came across your you tube channel and your video for Troublesome Ford Tire Pressure Monitor Faults Tip and the cheap phone charger I had was tripping the fault. Thank you! I do have another problem hopefully you can help with? My compass is stuck on North, now i have tried to fix/change through settings, changing it from rotating North to fixed North and back again with no change stays on North even on the center display and while in gauge mode it shows a truck with compass and that is stuck to North as well and does not move, I drive a 2014 F-250

Great video and quick question .. 2010 Edge 102,000K, tmps started flashing then stayed solid, next 4-5 days was fine no light, then 3 days ago and since its on all the time, first flashing then solid, repeats every time restarted. IF it is just dying batteries, can they be replaced (like a watch) or would you need to buy brand new sensors? Is there a way to determine which tire/sensor is causing the problem? Thanks for any help or advice!

  • @marksreviewsandrants8554

I just got that TPS fault light and message come on today on my 2011 for fusion sport My son used a charger a few weeks ago but none since I guess it is just a bad sensor I checked air pressure and added a little air. Will this cause my emissions to fail when it is time to do them? They check for trouble codes.
