Disagree about canoe controls. It actually matches up suprisingly well with IRL canoe steering for what i remember, so as someone who's used to actual canoes, it was fairly straightforward for me. The way it turns too much, the way it drifts, and the way it tries to straighten out- or not, sometimes- is very close to how i would expect it to work in the same situation IRL. It isn't perfect, but for a minigame? Way better than expected.
I had more issues with having to memorize where the water current takes you (like left vs right vs middle paths) rather than the actual controls
To be fair, most Zelda players are not experienced in canoeing.

@@velvetbutterfly Yes, but I have a feeling that archery in Zelda isn't as accurate to real life as the canoe minigame.
Not that I'm coming after you or anything, or even that I disagree with you, but just because something in a video game mimics IRL real well or is really realistic isn't always, or isn't necessarily, a good thing.

@@nedcurfman3486 more so fandom popularity. MM, OOT, BoTW, WW, they have always gotten more love than TP, and especially in recent years nobody really bats an eye at it. It got one shitty halfassed WIIU “remaster” and left to drown. IMO, TP feels underrated in the Zelda community outside of this games Link design or Midna fans. I feel like the story and the game itself deserves more love, but it’s ur opinion vs mine lmfao
@@nedcurfman3486 Skyward Sword released in 2011 and was also the codebase that BOTW built off of. SS was the "face of the series" before BOTW came out. TPHD also never received as much love as WWHD/SSHD got with their remasters, with basically only texture and tiny shader updates. WWHD got a full rendering overhaul and SSHD got 60fps. We are just now seeing the fruits of the community support (rando/decomp) that other games have had for years, too

Seeing myself in the chat is one of the best things that can happen. I loved watching the struggle of winning the lantern prediction live (go believers) plus TP is my favorite game of all time. So all in all, great video.
TP is also my favorite! I Grew up watching my older sister play it, so it's got a special place in my heart 🥺

@@lwhitted6635 I remember fondly playing this for hours at a time. Running upstairs to fight with my siblings to use a computer and find answers when I was stuck. (I didn't like to solve Zelda puzzles myself back then. Don't do it anymore.)

@@eireyouok101 No1 is hard. Either ALTTP or minish cap. Then it is a battle between one of the previous two and TP, 4th is OOT and 5th is the oracle series. Least favorite is actually majoras mask which surprizes a lot of people.

@@dumbidiot1119 the randomizer itself makes sre it is in a place you can actually obtain all necessary items... so means the lantern must be obtainable if the settings sayin' you need to go through CitS because the first key is in a lantern chest.

The trick to the rapids minigame: DO NOT STEER. Just let the current take you along and only touch the steering to tap around obstacles (and aim at every single lantern. Build up a buffer for inevitable bonks.)

From my understanding this randomizer is still in Bata testing and I think Tyler A.K.A attackingtucans said it's possible to soft lock items, prevent yourself from progressing or even lock you in a room where the only way out is to save and quit

@@Josh_the_jester to be honest I did that casually in vanilla, ran out of bombs and had to save & reset to leave. Not sure if there's specifically a randomizer softlock there but I didn't see what you saw
TP randomizer is.....honestly not the best randomizer. There's over 500 checks and only a quarter of them are actual items and many of them take absolutely forever to do

I seriously didn't know about the Zelda Light Arrows, I always thought it's because she was just really bad at aiming at times. Turns out I was the one who really bad at aiming 🤣😂😅😀🙂😐🙁☹😢😭😭
Also in turn with the Canoe mini game, it's actually not too horribly hard, (granted I've played the mini game at least 60 times since I replayed Twilight Princess 29 times, no exaggeration). And I learned that usually letting the water flow control your boat steering will usually not make you hit anything. Just gotta keep a quick eye and only move just enough to get out of the way of any wooden wreckage. I remember a few times I just held my bow and arrows without steering for a solid minute before hitting a rock and/or wreckage.

the irony about that last poe he found with the 2nd claw shot is that in my own save, i'd spent years trying to find all the poes... that one was the final poe i had found. and let me remind you.... i had to hunt for them all without a guide! Was some of the most painful times of my life lmao XD
As for the Zelda aim thing... I never had a problem with it. I'd had a long time finetuning how to ride Epona after sucking the first time i used her, so by the time i got to the final boss, i was pretty good at getting Epona to go where i wanted her to go, which in turn translated to Zelda having a good aim too.

Dominion Rod is a progressive item in Rando, it's in two locations, the first one contains the rod and the second charges it.
When you first obtain it, the Dominion Rod only works in the Temple of Time, which is why Linkus can use it at that moment. The sky characters actually unlock City in the Sky in a normal playthrough (and require the recharged rod to obtain), and it's the Ancient Sky Book (normally from Impaz) that recharges the rod, but we can forgive Linkus for mixing them up because the speedrun clips through the last overworld owl statue instead of doing that quest
