Hi my name is Lilly and I am an American expat living on the island of Koh Samui in the gulf of Thailand for the last 9 years. My husband is Thai and his name is Wat. We have two boys named Luke and Leon and a new baby girl named Lyla. Nam is our Nanny and she is like family to us. I kept thinking it had been a few years since Nam's son had been with his mother for her birthday. He glows with happiness. And what a wonderful "big brother" he is.
Why were they separated?
@@chinaboss6683 Nam's son was living up in Myanmar with family. How he was able to finally come to Thailand was never explained to my knowledge. Not easy
@@chinaboss6683The way I understand it, and to put it briefly, Nam became pregnant young (I believe 16) and left Myanmar (her home country) to work in Thailand while her son stayed with Nam’s parents in Myanmar. Thailand had better work opportunities, so Nam stayed in Thailand and continued to send money back home to support her family. Fortunately several years back Nam found employment with Wat and Lilly at their restaurant, and she soon became like family. When the pandemic happened and they had to temporarily close down their restaurant, Nam then became their nanny, all the while sending a large portion of her paychecks back home. Given the current civil war happening in Myanmar, things were getting very scary and dangerous, and they worked very hard to finally get Nam’s son to be reunited with his mom in Thailand safely, and were fortunately successful in doing so. It is such a blessing that they now get to be together again. I’m sure that’s the best birthday present of all for Nam.

Nam is such a happy, outgoing person. She seems to find so much joy in life. That was nice you got the place to yourselves for like a private party. They even put the colors on in the pool. Doing something like this or even eating out much in the USA would be so expensive.
