Thank you for watching my video, I appreciate the support ! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Sucks they got scammed with that previous guy. But it's great you helped them get their car repaired and got that wheel bearing replaced before it ended in catastrophe!
Good save John!
Thank you, customer was happy with the repair, especially since I showed proof that I actually did the job lol
Great episodes again Jonathan... Cheers from Newcastle, Australia 🇦🇺 👍👍👍
Thanks for watching 👋
Sounds like you put the donkey back in the stable.. Awesome of you to utilize that spare axle nut on the "Fake Mech" side lol
No point in letting the new axle nut go to waste 👍
Great job with an excellent explanation of the process.
Thank you 💪
Too bad they didn't include a thrust bearing with the Astro 78825. I had to buy it separately and it has made all the difference when dealing with stubborn wheel bearings. Thrust bearings are more available now than they were in the past. Less friction = more power.
Great presentation as always!
Yes. When I saw how much easier a thrust bearing simplifies the job in Eric O's hands, I got 5 of those thrust bearings for about $30 from Amazon. Eric goes through a thrust bearing every several months, so it's not a great loss if the thrust bearing is not included. The thrust bearing protects the threads of the central shaft by reducing the pressure needed to get the bad bearing moving. That thrust bearing is the weakest link of the system, perhaps explaining why Astro didn't want to include it and accept warranties for a 'sacrificial' part. I cobbled together almost the same kit as shown here. This video is an excellent demo, with brilliant lighting and intelligent commentary. You can't get the snap ring out when the hub is in the way, and the shaft of the hub gets consistently frozen onto the inner race. Also when pressing the hub shaft out, on the hub side there's no way to place a cup to isolate pressure to the hub shaft only because the hub is too large. So, the sheet metal cage of the bearing breaks apart, allowing you to remove the hub and get to the snap ring.
I haven't tried this tool with a thrust bearing. Would be interesting
Great series! Thanks for all the content!
You're welcome, thanks for watching
great content as always! Keepin it real while keeping it fresh
Thank you💪💯
That lower ball joint needs to be replace to
I'm sure it does , there's plenty on this car that needs replacing. That's for another day.
How do you know it’s fixed , cause all you do is right hand turns 😂👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Ha! I never thought about that 🤣 now I need to incorporate left hand turns into my routine lol
Good job john john !!!! I need to contact yoy for an estimate.
My prices don't translate to shop prices.
I was sure that washer was gonna roll out of the garage, down the driveway and half way down the block. That's what happens to me.
You had a customer that went out on their own and bought brand new tires and a battery? 😮
That washer almost made it out the garage lol. Yeah it's shocking but I'm sure they new it needed a battery and tires well before it came to me.
Is that corrosion spray as good as anti seize paste.
They are two completely different things. In which way do you mean as good as the paste?
@themechanic6117 I work riding mowers. When I remove rear wheels I always clean the axles and brush on anti seize. I was wondering if I could just spray with that inhibitor. Same thing for bolts that I want to be sure that can be removed in the future.
I wouldn't. Anti seize works as a lubricant also. CRC corrosion inhibitor is not a lubricant, it just protects from rust.
@themechanic6117 don't need the lubrication because hub is keyed to the axle. Just want to be sure hub will pull off axle in yhe future.
Give it a shot then
