  • An Interior Drain Tile System installed with wall covering, battery backup and discharge line. An interior drain tile system prevents water seepage from under the floor, and in the case with the wall coverings, through the walls. This is a permanent way to help keep your basement dry that isn't too expensive.

    great video. For a crawlspace with dirt floor. How would you secure the drain board?

    • @Therealsealllc
      @Therealsealllc  Před 6 lety

      If it is a dirt floor, there is no need for a drain board. The water will simply go through the dirt into our system. The drain board helps divert water past concrete.

    Instead of the Poly, would it make sense to glue a few standoffs made from foundation wrap (8mm) if one were to anchor 2"+ of rigid xps/isopoly over top if the home owner is going to finish the basement walls with mixed isulation, or just anchor the foamboard through the poly given that the 2" foamboard itself is also a barrier for vapor/water.

      Good question! If you are trying to insulate the area, we would recommend either a spray foam or the foam board you mentioned after our wall covering vapor barrier is up.
      Either way, we would recommend installing the system first and then insulating.

    I hope people would insist on waterproofing the exterior instead of water management from the interior.

    • @Therealsealllc
      @Therealsealllc  Před 3 lety +1

      Hello there! Most of our waterproofing applications are actually water management from the interior. Especially in Chicago, we don't have much room on the exterior to work, as houses and buildings can be so close together. Porches, trees, additions, garages, and more can interfere with exterior work.
      The important thing is to find a reputable, honest company that will provide a warranty with their work. There are numerous ways to waterproof a basement, easy solution should be custom tailored to your situation and accessibility.
