Harvesting Sorghum after 35 Days of Growth
Vložit

- It's been 35 days since I planted this field of Sorghum. With the hot weather we've had and irrigating several inches of water over the field, this crop has grown fast!
Kevin has decided to harvest this cutting instead of irrigating it once again. That way we will get 2 cuttings off this piece.

Just like what Meredith Bernard says, "team work makes the dream work".
She also says Y'all too
You must try to make sorghum beer.
Its low alcohol but very nutritional.
Also we used to have maltabella.(brand name)
In south Africa where it's the porridge.
This is the biggest antidote to Monsanto and gm crops
You all are such hard working family who work so good together bless you all
Enjoy watching the interaction of your wonderful family, and sharing what you do, together, thank you.
What a hard working family. You guys stay safe
Love watching , you all pitch in and work together so well , I wish all of America could come together the way your family does.❤️
Great job .It's great when you let us go with you on a date in your equipment .🚜👍🚜👍🚜👍🚜👍

Happy Saturday...! Keep smiling one field at a time ☺😉
I like that u can run the chopper Ronda ur husband is so lucky to have you!!!
Other way around... I'm blessed to have him. 😊
Wow like that grass and ur haybind is great I love watching it
Those frustrating moments, I am always reminded why I am in constant need of grace!
Hey Ronda and family!👋 Good Kevin got the air tank to working instead of having to go buy one! Always be safe and blessed! 😆❤👍
Kevin and Other Farmers have to be Handy since things Break as you know all too well. Thanks!👍
Great family!!
It's amazing how much it grew in 35 days
Good lord!! Even Kevin has a green thumb. That's some quick growth there. Gonna be some happy cows very soon.
Yes, Kevin does have a green thumb for growing things on a larger scale. 😊
Love to watch y'all video, have a great week,,,
In my experience with disc cutters the sap from the plant mixed with dust or mud would build up in the rock guards, so I would carry a 4 inch scraper and clean them every day or more often. It made a big difference in cut and speed. 👍
That was a good looking stand, looked nice and thick, made good looking silage
Proud of y'all
Wow! Nice small stem and high leaf volume, great hay at 45#/acre. We target 18 to 22 lb/acre West Texas dry land.
So , you moved the....Everest , in your yard!
CoooooL!
A lot of god action today...
Thank you, AoCH !
I have one of these hats an was really pleased with the quality real good item 👍👍
Great video!!!
Have a great day too I watch the video on Sunday the 13th 21 y'all have a blessed day and see you next video👍👍👍✌🙏🤠🐎🐴🐕
Wow, did that ever grow fast. I remember my Dad growing it when I was young, made for good feed !!
I see Kevin is like me. Today is the first day of a clean shirt. Tomorrow it will be inside out. Two days one shirt. Less laundry to do. See how considerate we both are. Keep up the great work family.
Glad to see that I'm not the only that gets a mouthfull of dirt in the haybine. I've been cutting peas and oats the past few weeks and have had to unplug quite a few times.
Kevin had to adjust the head, then we didn't have any more issues.
Yes,don't want dirt in the feed. Keep the dirt in the field. I totally agree 👍 I think I'm ready to become a famer now.
Awesome!! What type of farming do you want to do?
It’s awesome how Kevin is always smiling when your together
I think he likes me. 😏
@@acresofclayhomestead new, I think he loves you Ronda and I dont blame him, you are very lovable
I was noticing that too Keith.
No disrespect, but I would smile, too. You always seem to bring a joyful countenance to the videos! 👍
I'm glad to see you married a good person are really smart because he definitely married up but thank you for bringing the life of a farmer that has been blessed. I will never afford this kind of equipment. You show good intelligence of the actual crop.
Thank you Rhonda for sharing this with us. We really don't know how much work goes into farming. God Bless from Jackson. MI.
That was pretty much of crop, especially for that short time, good that you got everything working out though:)
Good work y'all! 🌽
family of workers.. nice
A thumbs up here.. Great video.. Thank you
hey thanks for sharing ...
wow great
wow Kevin had his T shirt on right side out today!!
Great channel , I love your videos!
Thank you!
we love sorghum :))
Your crop is so beautiful! If you let it go to seed after the second cutting, you will never have to plant that field again! Every year in the Springtime you will just have sorghum popping up everywhere!
Super Video 👍
Another great video Rhonda . I don’t want to tell anyone what to do but I’ve been a mechanic at a Deere dealer for 41 years and it sounded like the engine was still running on the discbine while Kevin was cleaning the mud off the cutter head . Don’t ever trust the electric or hydraulics on a running machine .
It's definitely something we need to work on. It's just so easy to jump out and see what the problem is before even thinking about shutting the equipment off. Thanks for the reminder. 😊
Yeah, I get in hurry sometimes also and don’t always shut my tractor off (I obviously shut my PTO off) when I work on my mower. After I finish, I’m always like, I should’ve turned my tractor off.
re bonjour toujours de belle vidéo merci 👍👍👍👍
Good job
Thanks.. Great Video.
lookin good...................................
PRETTY JOB GOOD WORKER GOODLUCK
always love a equipment ride along. Sadly I do not wear ball caps, wool or wide brimmed( tilley type) for me.
Great video! Subscribed!
Welcome to our channel!!
We grew 50 acres every year and put in harvestor silo sometimes getting 17 % protein for raising our heifers, cut it 4 times per year
love your video
Hi from Ireland enjoy your video
Thank you!!
some times you just have to patch things up and keep moving forward, but I am sure Kevin ordered a new tank to replace that one.
Thank you'll so much for believing in jesus he already starting to pour out his blessings on believers hang in there it's coming just a old hillbilly from arkansas
Nice video
You guys have sheep too, right , and cattle, love it your name came up some in Meredith and Lawrence’s this farm wife this week , Meredith is maybe a new subscriber, I told her acres of clay was sheep, right, and cow’s, kool thanks y’all BigAl California.
Hmmm. I didn't notice them saying anything about us??
I do watch her channel when I have time. And, no, we don't have sheep anymore. Sold them awhile back. 😔
Acres of Clay Homestead oh ok I thought you guys had sheep , I must’ve missed the vlog of the sale, lolol that’s is possible, I miss some of them , being busy, thanks y’all BigAl California.
Just Like 👍 Larry the Cable Guy. “Git Er Dun”, Ronda. You’re a High Energy Midwest Farm Wife. 👍
Courious how long you 2 been hitched.
You are blessed with those babies
Married for almost 23 years!
Oh man I have been there when it comes to patching rusty air tanks. If you’re looking to replace them let me know I have a really good catalog with aftermarket truck parts. I’ve gotten some of those air tanks for under $100 believe it or not. Some of them have the wet tank and the primary air tank all in the same enclosure, those are a little bit more pricey but still cheaper than going to the dealer especially on a truck that you don’t run every single day.
Yes following you and Like Your videos 😇🐄🐄😊❤️
Thanks!!
Kevin 👍
Hello from down the road in Dorr:))
Hello neighbor!! 😏😉
Very cute couple❤️👍🇨🇦
Pullover hoodies or zip up are great.
I love our american farmers. Real heroes.
Hello as always it is good to see y’all
I have had extremely good luck repairing with JB Weld. And then I don't get replaced, so more JB Weld.
"A sea of sorghum".... Think I would invest in a couple new air tanks for the Freightliner. When they get that bad they will continue to have pin hole leaks.
Nice
God bless ya saludos de mexico
awesome Sorghum harvesting ❤️ but i couldn't see Sorghum grains in plants #
Wow!!!!
Glad your crops look good, my brothers Dairy farm having the worst drought ever in central MA.1st cutting down 40% and 2nd cutting down 75%.His notill corn didn't have enough moisture to pop up and was a complete loss.He drilled in some sudan grass instead and hopes to do Baleage later in this season.
Oh wow!! Will he have enough feed to go thru the year? Hopefully they get some rain soon!
Rhonda i know he buy in some corn silage from a custom harvest operation in CT from there 2019 crop. This yr has been the worst he,s ever seen.Small storm cells have either dodged to the North or the south of him.Been a bad yr for him his JD 2555 he,s had over 30 yrs now with 15,000 hrs on it pto clutch pack got weak from trying to power his mixing wagon. He was forced to trade it out and found an equivalent 2755 with only 4,000 hrs on it little more hp.
That's tough, especially since the price of milk has tanked ever since this virus crap.
Another great job.
Saludos esde sinaloa
if I had to guess that dirt was from a groundhog burrow.
Ronda, the sweatshirts are a great idea,
Although you would go broke trying to get one that fits me because I am a Big Guy and I usually take a 4 or 5 X size shirt. HA HA HA
You'd have to order from the big and tall section. 😊
@@acresofclayhomestead lol yes I would
Keep a old ice scraper in the chopper it should help with the mud removal?
to have a almost 6 foot crop after 35 days, wow oh wow. It must need rich ground to grow.
Rich soil, heat, and water makes it grow fast. 😊
Good morning Ronda and family!!
Co do you go threw and press the Lancaster plantimg?
Scares me every time I see You all working on cutters and augers with the motor still running. Please be safe and take care. God bless you.
We need to remember to be more safe...
Does the sorgum regrow to allow a second cut or is that field resowed with another crop 🤔👍
You know you're in the country when there are stop signs on dirt roads. I haven't seen this in Kentucky!
You looking good with this hat have a Nice sunday
What variety was that? Turned out nice
Must'a hit some sort of critter mound.
Another great video.
Would like to see pull over sweat shirts, no hoodies. Or perhaps heavy button flannel shirts that can be worn as a jacket. I have many for my company.
Those are great ideas! Do you work with a company that makes the flannels??
Sorghum and biscuits, mmmmmmm
On the back of the chopper there is an arm swinging around. What is that for?
❤
Bonjour Ronda, what is variété of sorgue that you are harvesting ? How many pounds of nitrogen you will apply per acre for the second cut?
GD morning Rhonda and family I was just wondering how often you have too sharpen ur blades
Technically those knives don't ever need to be sharpened. But... When mowing grass we like to sharpen them a bit.
GD morning hope you have a great Sunday a day of rest thank you for your reply about your cutter
Can you bale it into round plastic bales or is it too hard for plastic wrap>
