Im installing 18 foot horizontal 26 guage any tips on oil canning?

I haven't seen this used horizontal, so can't speak to that. Generally speaking, avoid twisting panels during handling or installation, when locking panels into each other don't feel a need to pull them together as tightly as possible, and allow for a small gap where panels slide into trim.

You'll find Steel Board & Batten to be a more cost effective option than Hardie board. It's made from the same material that we make our UL2218 Class 4 Impact Resistant roofing from.
