- 2020 has been hard for a lot of us creators so I've taken my green thumb and put it to work propagating Pothos plants which I sell on Facebook Marketplace. It's certainly doesn't make enough money to pay the bills but it's a little side hustle that bring in some pizza money and keeps my mind occupied while living the self isolated life. In this video I give a quick chat about how I make money selling plants. If you want a more in-depth video leave some comments down be low and let me know what you're interested in knowing about.
EFS 10-18mm lens: For those of you who are here to check out the EFS 10-18mm vlogging lens all the vlogging part of this video are shot with that lens on the Canon EOS R5. The IBIS is on in camera and the lens Image Stabilization is on. There is also two more levels of digital stabilization available in camera which I didn't turn on but this footage can be made to be more stable.

Wow great for you ! I’ve also started my own propagation set up but on a larger spectrum just like you ! This is so insightful and uplifting ! Times are hard and the struggle is real - if your good at something they say don’t do it for free - and although plants are a passion and hobby what a wonderful way to be able to spread that love and knowledge about houseplants !
Hope all has been going well for you and your small business ! 🌿😊💙
I like the double audience acknowledgement, I am here for the plants :)
Thank you for the comment. I need to make more plant videos. :)
This is amazing! I've been propagating pothos during lockdown and really enjoy them. I've been dreaming of selling them and I'll definitely steal your tote box greenhouse idea! I'm obsessed with growing plants now 💚
Ya I feel what you're saying. It's a really relaxing hobby for sure.
Oooooooo I’m loving your plants ! 🙋♀️👍🏼💜

Those giant leaves are amazing
They are! I love them. Thanks for the comment.
Great video !!!! Thx !!!
I like the shelves 😍
Thank you. Built them myself after watching some CZcams videos. lol
@@forknvine would be amazing to see a close up of the shelf you built. Specifically that cross bar you have for hanging pots! That's inspiration for me
I really love to
It just seems the market is so saturated with sellers
I know this video is older but do you have a video on pricing your pothos?
It's really different depending on where you are. Best advice I can give you is to check your local markets and see what the local prices are.
How do you price them considering pothos are getting more and more common and hardware stores sell them at super low prices? I've had my Pothos on FB marketplace for a week now and getting no offers..
I think that pothos are not a good plant choice. "Everyone" has one. People wants more difficult plants to find: variegated string of hearts, peperomia watermelon, string of turtles, booby cactus are the plants I sell super fast
I keep it pretty low. $4 -$5 nothing crazy. People buy them up pretty steady. But they are easily available just about everywhere.
This is true people like all sorts of plants. It really depends on their skill level. A lot of people want a plant they can't kill easily and Pothos is great for that.
Do you sell any other plants? If so, what are your top sellers? How long generally is from propergation to selling?
It takes about a month to propagate depending on conditions. They like tropical conditions. I don't really sell much other than this. This is just a side hustle till my real work picks up again.
You remind me of me right now
Cool how's it going for you?
Have you tried shipping them to individuals who purchase them? Or just meet up with?
So far I just do Facebook marketplace. I've been toying with the idea of shipping plants but my full time job is photography and I'm hoping that starts to pick up now that things are opening up again. Once it does shipping out plants will be something I won't have time for.
Where do you get the dirt?
You can get the dirt anywhere. Local plan shop, big box store order it on amazon. Just look for potting soil.
Whsts best plants i should grow?
Corn grows fast.
How long does it take to grow?
These plants grow pretty quick. maybe two or three weeks for the roots to really take hold.
What size fillers/pots do you use and where did you get them from?!
I think they are 4 inch pots. I find a pack of 25 at the dollar store of $2 in the spring and summer so I buy a bunch of them. :)
How much do you sell them for?
I sell them for $5. If they grow bigger i'll sell them for $10 but I don't really wait for them to start vining out.
I am Fathima currently living in abudhabi.i am interested plant selling .i don't know how to sell that
How to connect you.
How to connect me to what? Or are you looking for a way to connect with me? You can message me through my webpage if you like www.vaskoobscura.com
Hi do you need a license to sell them?
No why would you need a license? I guess if you make enough money doing it you would need to register a business. But then again it depends where in the world you live and what your local laws are. Maybe in your area you might need a license. You would have to ask someone in your area.
Hey plant daddy❤💚🪴
hi thanks for the comment glad you liked the video.
Do you help send
I had to stop watching because the camera was jerking around all over the place
I don't typically shoot vlogs because of the shakiness.
Do you water your plants with your tears? Jk 😂
Do you need a license to sell plants?
Not that I know of. But I assume once you start making some real money selling plants the government will want you to register a business and pay tax. I would suggest looking up tax and business policy in your area to learn more.
@@forknvine I did it says if you sell more than 100 dollars of plants per year you need a license.
