I am Scottish and live in England. I have been told multiple times to “go back to your own country” or called a foreigner or Scottish bar steward. I never ever thought that I was being “racially” abused. When people are upset they often look for an obvious insult. Nearly always they don’t mean it. But with Griffiths the media blew it out of all proportion. They hung him out to dry because he was a “celebrity” and not very smart. Easy pickings.
I don't think Griff is a racist. But what he said on twitter was dumb and in this day an age, if you are a public figure, you leave yourself wide open to accusations of racism if you make comments like that. Right or wrong that's the way it works and he had to be smarter than that.

Am a Rangers fan but was at the England game he scored those free kicks, that was incredible especially when he stepped up and scored that second, talented played who's career fell like a stone at the end within about a span of a year he went from playing with Scotland and Celtic to Dundee then Falkirk in the lower leagues of Scotland then to no man's land for a regional Australian team
