- Using this phrase CRIPPER it can help you workout the order of tests from dead to live required by BS 7671. CRIPPER will help you put in order the test sequence listed below -
C - Continuity
R - Ring circuit test
I - Insulation resistance
P - Polarity (dead)
P - Polarity (live)
E - Earth fault loop impedance
R - RCD test

Absolute savage man....now if you could them step by step
This is probably the most useful video I watched in the last months
Thanks
I have to say a massive thank you. With last year and this year being awful your channel and videos it has improved my knowledge more then college itself. Cheers 🍻
Top man as Always, you are too good. Very informative video right there.
Thank you so much. I have been studying that for three days and it hasn’t gone in and just like that I will remember that for life. Thanks, lad
Good luck 👍🏻
We were taught CRIPPLER in college to distinguish which polarity test you would do first.
Fab! I was struggling with this! Not anymore
This is very practically useful.
Thank you for the tip.
Thanks
Thanks for sharing it with us, but you could do more if you always zoom your work
I use McRIPPER (McDonalds😂) Mains tests first as they're nothing to do with the consumers side, and the details for PFC/Ze are on the front sheets of a cert.
Nice one.
Brilliant tip Gary!
Thanks
We used crippler instead of cripper making the E into earth electrode for TT systems
That was really work and help in exam Thank-you
Great tip Gary, CRIPPER 👊😎👍
💥🔥👍
Gary you are awesome
🙌🏻spot on super helpful
Thanks
@@GSHElectrical I'm from Malta and we have the same regulations so all your videos added a lot of extra details.
when validating results in the AM2 for r1 r2, do you only have to validate for the ring circuit? how would you validate the others and prove this?
That’s brilliant!! Cack the ripper!!😁👍
Nice 👍
is this for the single phase dead tests
What about pfc?
That is a fantastic tip.
Do we have to carry out the test in secrence. Does it matter if we test insulation or what ever first? So long as all nine test are done then what difference does it make?. Fantastic video as always. Thank you Gary. What time is the eFixx live feed tonight.?
We are live tonight on eFIXX TV at 8pm I recommend you watch as I have loads of prizes to giveaway 👍
@@GSHElectrical I will be watching, maybe this week I will be lucky 🍀 😂
If you dont follow the sequence you may miss some faults, then will be hard to find.
Need to do it all in sequence from dead tests through to live tests as theres a small chance of livening up a circuit dangerously, such as wrong polarity live could mean livening up the earth ect. Or a broken live cable floating around in a back box, so continuity should find this before livening up.
I prefer ccipper
Does cripper remind you to measure Fault current at the origin of the installation
I use McRipper. M for mains incomer, plus PFC/Ze are on the front sheets of a cert, and nothing to do with the consumers side.
What about ZE ZS and bonding ?
That’s e = earth fault loop impedance. Thanks for watching and commenting. Gaz
Whats bonding?
@GSH Electrical isnt there a difference between Ze & Zs? External earth n then something else
Why no PFC Gary?
It’s just a memory aid for the structure of some of the tests in order 👍. Thanks for commenting and watching. Gaz 👍
Thanks Gaz, great video yet again:)
@@GSHElectrical Whenever I'm doing earth loop impedance my meter tells me what the fault current is at that reading. A quick flick of the dial then tests between L - N for that loop. Pick the highest job done
@@maxtroyZe is measured with the installation isolated and MEC removed. Pfcc/pefc is measured with all earth paths in place including MEBC
