The Ugliest Girl in Town was a controversial show with a tasteless premise that sparked widespread disdain. Its short run demonstrated its inability to resonate with viewers. Hogan's Heroes, a sitcom that deserves more attention, raised questions about its lighthearted portrayal of Nazis. Despite its controversy, it has largely been forgotten by modern audiences but can still be appreciated for its humor.
The Brothers Brannagan, a sitcom following sibling detectives, showcased early appearances from stars like Marion Ross and Burt Reynolds. The Jackie Gleason Show, initially successful, eventually faltered due to its reliance on superficial humor. The Flying Nun, remembered more for its absurd premise than its content, is a product of its time that wouldn't hold up today.
Miami Undercover, an action-driven crime series, featured the unique pairing of boxing legend Rocky Graziano and comedian Henny Youngman. Despite its star power, it failed to leave a lasting impression. Sea Hunt, starring Lloyd Bridges, established him as a leading man in Hollywood but has been largely forgotten by modern audiences.
In conclusion, the forgotten TV shows of the 60s remind us of the changing cultural and social landscape of that era. Though many of these shows have been lost to time, they offer a glimpse into the past and a reminder of how far we've come. While some may argue that these shows were simply products of their time and are no longer relevant, others may see value in revisiting these forgotten gems and finding new appreciation for their unique quirks and perspectives.

Loved Hogan's Hero then and still watch it
Hogan's Heroes, Jackie Gleason, The Flying Nun, Sea Hunt are not forgotten. You are implying we of a certain age don't remember things. We do.
I remember Hogans Hero & I remember the Jackie Gleason show & The Flying Nun. These were all great shows.
Well said, we strongly concur! Thank you for watching our content and for sharing your thoughts. What other types of video would you like to see?
Yup
I've often heard of Hogan's Hero, the Jackie Gleeson show and some of the others and I was only born in the 1970s and in Ireland
Yeah, I was a bit surprised by Hogan's Heros and Jackie Gleason in this group. A little by the Flying Nun.
I was looking for a forgotten show about an Alaskan Goldminer that was frozen for a 100 years and reanimated in (at the time) modern times. 😂 Because I can't remember the name!
I was an avid child viewer of Hogan's Heroes, Sea Hunt, The Flying Nun and the Jackie Gleason Show. Loved Laugh In with Dan Rowan and Dick Martin and Judy Carne amongst a heap of others.
I recall The Jackie Gleason Show as being a variety show. I still watch reruns of Hogan's Hero's. We named our pet parakeet after Rango.
We're happy to know that you're a fan of Hogan's Heroes. Which episode is the most memorable for you?
People remember Hogan's Heroes and Flying Nun
Yes, yes
I definitely remember "Sea Hunt," with Lloyd Bridges. It was interesting to see what was in the water of the seas!
Us too! Thank you so much for bringing back memories. What other types of video would you like to see?
I'd add "Please Don't Eat The Daisies"
& "The Ghost & Mrs. Muir".
The Ghost had a nice theme song.
Thank you for the addition! What other types of video would you like to see?
Not sure Hogan's heroes is forgotten, it's repeated on regular channels quite frequently.
"Checkmate" staring Sebastian Cabot I loved that show as a kid growing up with just 3 black & white TV channels.
Another one is "The Girl With Something Extra" which starred John Davidson and Sally Field, and lasted only one season. I love the premise but felt the show could have done so much more with it.
Agreed 😊
I think that wasin the 1970s though. She was a mind reader if I recall correctly.
Fun stuff, thanks for sharing! What other types of video would you like to see on our channel?
I loved it, too.
I watched Sea Hunt and Hogan’s Heros.
Fun stuff, thanks for sharing! Which Hogan's Heroes episode is the most memorable for you?
Dragnet love that show
Dragnet and highway 54 made me want to be a police officer
And dragnet is on. Metv among other great shows
@@tomrobards7753 Awesome I will have to go watch It?
One of our favorites too, you've got taste! What other types of video would you like to see?
Blue boy!
The first scene of the first episode of Gilligan's Island was filmed on the day JFK died in 1963. As the boat is leaving Hawaii the flag on land is flying half mast
Also, The Dick Van Dyke Show filmed without a live audience for the only time the day JFK died. It was the episode where Ritchie invited his whole class to his birthday party instead of just a few kids.
Very interesting, thank you so much for sharing this info. What other types of video would you like to see on our channel?
You left out "My Favorite Martian"
The Flying Nun wasn't a bad sitcom. People who knock it probably never saw it.
I only saw small fragments of it while switching channels.
I used to watch Sea Hunt when I was a kid. I don't remember it being a sitcom
I think you may have confused The Jackie Gleason Show with the Honeymooners. The clips you showed was from the Honeymooners. The Jackie Gleason Show was a variety show. Interesting fact about The Honeymooners, there was program in the sixties modeled after The Honeymooners. That program: The Flintstones.
Too young for the Honeymooners but I remember the Jackie Gleason variety show fondly. I loved their Chrupistmas show.
I love reading the credits when I watch older movies and TV shows. Near the bottom of the actors' list, I sometimes find some who later become stars in their own rights. One has to start somewhere.
Hogans Heroes forgotten??? It’s on 5 hours a week on MeTv Monday through Friday at 10 to 11 PM. Available on Prime and entire series is now available boxed. Who did this research? A college kid who just got his first girlfriend?
I watch Hogan's heroes all the time
Half of these shows were successful in their first run. And they were favorites at the time. But yes, some of your choices we’re definitely deserving of being lost forever.
Timing IS the key!😊
Yep, remember all of them! ❤👍
You're a true fan but what is your all-time favorite tv show?
Occasional Wife, Love on a Rooftop, Burke's Law, The Tammy Grimes Show (4 episodes or so), The Time Tunnel, I just turned 67 and I remember many of these. However, you keep referring to them as comedies when not all were. Lincoln Dale of the Everglades.
Thanks for sharing! If we may ask, what is your favorite show of all-time?
I'm shocked Sterling Holloway who was featured on The Baileys of Balboa didn't get a mention, but, then again, I think he'd been doing voicework for Disney long before. (Sterling was often the narrator in Disney productions, and he was the first person to bring Winnie the Pooh's voice to life)
The Jackie Gleason show started in the 1950s
Perhaps he is thinking of Jackie Gleason's 1962-1970 variety show, which concentrated more on musical Honeymooners shows during 1966-1970.
_Hogan's Heroes_ and _The Flying Nun_ have been on nostalgia stations for the last ten or twenty years.
Thanks for watching! We're glad to know that you love our video. What other types of video would you like to see on Facts Verse?
I loved Hogans heroes
We're happy to know that you love the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
I remember most of them. That's when TV WAS innocent. It was clean but today it's disgusting.
We absolutely agree! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. What is your all-time favorite tv show?
I honestly do not know of any kid who grew up watching "Hogan's Hero's" who didnt absolutely love watching that show. Of course, being so young we were blissfully unaware of the context up until "Diary of Ann Frank" came into our stratosphere. Game over.
We're happy to know that you love the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
Remember Hogan Hero's, Jackie Gleason, Flying Nun grew up with 3 TV channels 😂
Fun stuff, thanks for sharing! What other types of video would you like to see?
All that you vlog find with me
How is Hogans Heroes forgotten?
It has been in continuous syndication since it ended to this day.
Jackie Gleason called an end.
Interview on the tube.
Hogan’s Hero is actually a show I liked
We're happy to know that you love Hogan's Heroes. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
Not if u were there in the '60's like I was "Hogan's Hero's " is a classic & so is the "Jackie Gleason Show" & "My Favorite Martian" & "Mr. Ed" the talking horse. "The Munsters" etc.
I saw all these in prime time in the '60's as a kid. I even remember "It's About Time" about 2 astronauts landing in a prehistoric island of cave people & a T- Rex dinosaur. It only lasted one season it was like "Gilligans Island". The 1960's had the best TV shows.
Many of thee are not sit coms. And Jackie Gleason show was a big hit.
Hogan? FORGOTTEN??!! Never!
I liked the flying nun,and hogan’s hero
Car 54 Where Are You?
I remember 5 of those listed, and yes, I am a Boomer
Fun stuff, thanks for sharing! What is your all-time favorite TV show?
Saw some of these shows on the dailymotion website ike the flying nun the Jackie Gleason show and sea hunt😊
Hogan's Heroes? Maybe to a younger generation. Am I getting Old?
You are totally wrong it was very popular Hogan's Heroes
Sea Hunt was a sit-com?😮
Hogan's Heroes, The Flying Nun, The Jackie Gleason Show - all highly successful and well remembered. The Brothers Branigan, Sea Hunt, Miami Undercover - all not sitcoms and all syndicated rather than network shows. Rango- a midseason replacement that didn't last a full year. The Ugliest Girl in Town - a distasteful premise, you mean like the Academy Award winning film Tootsie. More Verse than Facts here.

Odd Hogan’s Heroes is listed with these b-grade shows.I always found the controversy over the humorous ‘na-is simplistic and wrong. The campy take on the war artfully focused attention on ethics questions, without boring the viewers
On top of it, some actors on "HOGAN'S HEROES" themselves were affected by the evil of the Nazi's, and their filth!
This list is a mess! With some decent research, probably 50 truly “forgotten” 1960’s tv shows could be found. Hogans heroes, the Jackie Gleason Show, The Flying Nun and Sea Hunt?…..Surely you jest!
Sea Hunt was not a Sitcom!
Not the first comment
🤔 Not the smart one at the top of the hill either !........
Actually I think this was the first comment
Almost there! We would love to see you be first on our next video ❤
"Sea Hunt" was NOT a "sitcom"!
Isn't it funny how Jackie Gleason was made fun of and called fat back in the day, Whereas today he would be considered Slimmer than most
Sea Hunt was not a sit com.
Jesus Christ! Sea Hunt was NOT a situation comedy!
Sea Hunt was not a sitcom.
Hogans Heroes is still shown today, and the Nazi’s were always shown to be pretty stupid!
We're happy to know that you love Hogan's Heroes. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
Sea Hunt was NOT a sitcom!
My sentiments exactly I caught that faux pas the instant he said it. Sea Hunt was an excellent show as a kid I thoroughly enjoyed it and remember it very well. It was particularly popular because of the fact that Jack Cousteau was making it big at the same time on National Geographic.
I watch Hogan's heroes all the time
